Private Outdoor Bar with Breathtaking City Views

The Punch Stand is Porter's mezzanine-level outdoor bar, located near the building's Randolph Street entrance. This circular, glass-enclosed space boasts stunning views of the city and the Chicago River and includes a large u-shaped bar, cocktail-height tables, and ample cocktail space to accommodate up to 99 guests' reception style. Available to book in semi-private sections or as a fully private outdoor event space.

    We have decorated Porter Kitchen for several events throughout the years (Christmas, St Patrick's Day, seasonal decor changes and holiday parties) and their management is so easy to work with-reliable, quick to respond, and friendly! As a vendor who has worked with many different spaces and clients, Porter is one of my favorites. Beautiful views of the river and super clean with a modern vibe! We have decorated many types of events in this space and each one looks amazing with the bones of this cool venue! I would highly recommend Porter for a unique space with accommodating staff!

    We hosted our Rehearsal Dinner & Wedding Welcome Party here and it was amazing! We had a lot of out of town guest's & they still talk about how amazing the venue & it's amazing view! The planning process with the event's team was seamless and the staff onsite couldn't have been more friendly and attentive. I highly recommend Porter for any type of event!

    Our family held a rehearsal dinner for 60 people at Porter Kitchen on a beautiful night last fall and had the most wonderful experience. We worked with Laura, who shepherded us through the entire process from beginning to end. She welcomed every idea and desire we had with open arms, allowed us to bring in outside vendors for tables and chairs, linens, glassware and flowers and never once said “no” to any request we had. She introduced us to the chef at our tasting and he was fantastic with a willingness to adjust their entrée presentation and ingredients as long as we used ingredients that were already on their menu. They made adjustments for guests with gluten allergies and chef did all of this with a willingness to make his guests happy, without ego. The meal he and the staff served was spectacular and the table service matched the food. Throughout the evening, the ratio of staff to guests was abundant. Passed appetizers flowed continuously and there was never any wait for drinks. They encouraged us to stream our own Spotify playlists through their sound system to create the atmosphere we were seeking and helped us play videos on their multiple TV’s as well. By the end of the evening, our guests were raving about the event and how warmly they were treated the entire evening by the staff. Regardless of the type of event you are holding, this is a location on the river that is not to be missed and a more importantly, an exceptionally professional and accommodating staff that will help your vison come to life. Porter Kitchen easily exceeded all expectations and has earned our highest recommendation!
