A co-founder and lead singer of the group, Brooke began the pursuit of her musical and stage career at a very early age. At 18, Brooke moved to New York City where she continued her education in music and theater. She moved to Chicago in 2011 and quickly collaborated with others who shared her love of soul and R&B music to create the familiar soulful, but unique sound of Brooke & The Nice Things. Brooke’s stage presence is surpassed only by her voice, which ranges from deep and gritty to sweet and soothing, not unlike what Brooke would tell you she will demand in her dressing room when she hits it big - whiskey and puppies…

Most wedding bands or companies “cobble together” musicians/DJs on a made-to-order basis and try to be the right fit for every occasion. We are different in that we are an 8-piece, Chicago-based, vintage soul band that has played together throughout Chicago venues for many years. Because our core group has played together on a regular basis for so long, the sound is very so solid and tight–it’s not like the typical wedding band sound. Brooke takes extreme pride in what she and the guys deliver. This has translated into consistent & amazing positive feedback/reviews saying that this is one of the best bands that they have heard at any wedding.

      Brooke & The Nice Things were an absolute delight to work with for our wedding. From our first call, their communication style was warm, collaborative, and open-minded. As experienced musicians, they truly listened to our vision and worked with us to curate a playlist that got everyone out on the dance floor all night long. The quality of their work was amazing - they are incredibly talented and can play a wide range of music to suit any crowd. Our guests had an absolute blast dancing to their fun and energetic sets. We couldn't have asked for a better band to make our wedding day so special.

      Hiring Brooke and the Nice Things for our wedding was one of the best decisions we made! Steve and the band were so easy to work with start to finish. At the wedding, their music kept the dance floor full all the way until the final song, and then through the encore as the crowd was chanting for more! They easily gained another hundred fans at our wedding. They were engaging the entire night, and so communicative leading up to the wedding to make sure the night and performance were all we were hoping for. They made our night so magical and we couldn't have asked for anything more! We would recommend them to anyone looking for a live band at their wedding!

      Brooke N The Nice Things are one of a kind and everyone at our wedding absolutely loved them! I’m a list guy so here is how I would "bucketize" our review of the undeniable BNTNT. Excited for whoever books them! - An incredible band that kept all generations on the dance floor all night: Our goal was to get everyone dancing (including the parents, grandparents, and kids!) and BNTNT's ability to touch every generation with flawless execution, incredible vocals, and nice/lovely stage presence was awesome. - Amazing set list Brooke and Steve would be the first to tell you they have and love soul music but they have a bunch of popular songs (i.e. no diggity, beyonce, amy winehouse, etc.) there was a great balance and flow to each of the three 5@ minutes sets . - Ability to learn songs for you: Also, they are willing to learn a few songs for you in addition to their setlist ... we chose Mirrors by JT (our wedding song actually), Beyonce - Love on Top, Lady Gaga - The Cure, Girl on Fire by Alicia Keys and 1 other I can't remember... talk about impressive! Every song sounded amazing! Professional musicians. Period. - Comments we heard throughout the night: "OMG, Brooke's voice is so amazing" ... "this band has this crowd in the palm of her hand" ... "I feel like this is a real band not a wedding band!" - Would we do it again? ... absolutely, 100%, no doubt, there is no other band that could have fit into our special day than Brooke and The Nice Things! Forever grateful!
