Couldn’t have picked a better place to get married
My husband and I got married at the North Shore House back in August. We originally picked the venue because it’s stunning, the food is so fresh and not your traditional wedding banquet food. It’s a smaller venue which we loved as it made our wedding feel so special and intimate. We have nothing bad to say about this place. We had to change plans last minute due to rain but it didn’t matter thanks to the incredible staff. Everyone on staff was so nice and accommodating, Emma our coordinator is truly an angel and made sure our last minute venue change indoors was perfect. Emma made sure every little detail was accounted for since the day we picked the venue right up until I walked down the aisle. She made planning so easy and stress free. We wouldn’t change a single things about our wedding and would recommend the North Shore House to anyone looking for a wedding venue.
Best decision EVER besides getting married ;)
Where do we even begin?! North Shore House was a dream come true for our wedding. We only viewed 2 venues, this being the second, because as soon as we saw NSH we felt at home. Location: It felt like we were on vacation and not in New Jersey, it was so serene and special. Grounds were impeccable. Each season brings a different feel, even with a misty day it was striking with the flowers, antique gates, greenery, etc. Every time we visited off season there was some maintenance being done that just goes to show the love that gets put into it. The history behind the grounds was very interesting to us and we made sure to get a picture with their bar (originally imported from Brooklyn). They have beautifully decorated guest rooms with gorgeous bathrooms and a classy feel. They allowed us to pre-pick who would be given what room to avoid any drama. Our corner room was the newlywed suite and had the best view on the grounds, we felt so special! Service: NSH is a family owned business and they bring charm in everything they do. It was a pleasant surprise that throughout the process we met a new family member running different aspects - the kitchen/catering, grounds work, business/sales, etc! Throughout the experience (and especially day of) they would check in to make sure everything was to expectations. No wonder it felt like we were at home. We must call out that our day of coordinator, Samantha, was a literal dream to work with. She was light hearted, flexible, and felt like a friend helping you plan your day (without any of the drama that you might get working with family/friends :) professionalism was top notch). Special thanks to Eric as well that gave us the initial tour and supported our whole experience. Day Of: It was rainy and they waited until last minute to make the call if we would do outdoor ceremony. Thankfully it lightened up and they set up all the chairs within 30 mins of the start time so that the guests would not sit on soaking wet chairs. I loved how they met up with me (the bride) before the ceremony entrance which made me feel special. They had a bridal attendant Diana that was very friendly and brought us food, champagne, etc. Overall we are so happy we chose NSH to have our wedding. Everything had high attention to detail. The bride's father is a musician and has played hundreds of weddings and in general has high expectations - but he was very impressed with the grounds ("Spotless - you can tell they put in a lot of work") and the food ("This was real restaurant food, not wedding food"). Other family members continue to say how special of a wedding it was and how much they loved the historic Inn. It will always hold a special place in our heart - not only for our wedding, but for the first meeting of our parents, we reserved dinner there exactly 1 year from our date and enjoyed the ambiance, food, and service, getting us all so excited for the big day. Highly recommend this idea for other couples so you can picture what it will be like day of and get a different kind of tasting experience! We are very much looking forward to visiting for future anniversaries! Thank you so much again! - Holly & Ryan Hedderich
BOOK IMMEDIATELY
Just had my wedding here this past weekend and I have nothing but positive things to say. First off, the owners and all of the staff are truly kind hearted and work so hard to make your day special. From day one, communication was top notch. Every single question I asked was answered quickly and most of the time followed by very helpful feedback and suggestions. I couldn’t have asked for a better team and I am so so grateful I discovered NSH on the Nj brides Facebook page. Diana is your bridal attendant and she goes above and beyond to make sure you are fed, relaxed, and have everything you need. The bridal suite is this cute gated area attached to the home where the owners live. It is absolutely adorable and reminded me of a little cottage. I also really loved riding around on that golf cart with Diana :). It’s also great to take a ride if you need to decompress away from the craziness. My coordinator was Emma, who is a literal ANGEL. Emma was so great with communication ( I ask a million questions) and is so organized. She is also the absolute sweetest and I was so happy to have her with me during my special day. I trust her completely and was really stress free because I knew she had everything under control. Besides the amazing staff, the view is gorgeous. The hotel rooms are also so peaceful and VERY clean. The food is absolutely amazing, I received so many compliments and many stated it was the best wedding food they’ve ever had . I typically don’t even eat the plated food at weddings because it’s made in large quantities and isn’t always consistent. However, I ate my filet mignon on my wedding day and it was cooked perfectly. I also received positive feedback on the cocktail hour and dessert. The next morning, we had a simple but very cute send off brunch with the firepits going, boat rides, and some apple cider donuts! It was very fall themed and a perfect ending to a wonderful weekend. All of my vendors also commented on how great NSH is to work with. I recommend this for any bride looking for an amazing celebration with a team who is extremely personable, caring, and down to earth.
BEST DAY EVER with the BEST VENUE EVER!
The North Shore House holds a special place in our hearts- they helped make our wedding day the literal BEST DAY EVER. From start to finish, we couldn't have been happier! Emma and the rest of the staff were timely with communication, SUPER organized, helpful with details, and so attentive. Emma was truly a rockstar point person- we can't rave about her enough! The space speaks for itself: the outdoor space perfectly amplifies the natural beauty of the lake, and the indoor space is cozy, warm, and inviting- a perfect place to dance the night away! The food was amazing (must get the pistachio crusted lamb chops), and the wait staff was the most helpful. We have been to the restaurant several times before, so knew the food was delicious, but our guests couldn't stop mentioning how tasty everything was! Some bullet points of things we LOVED: -the hotel rooms are cozy, individual, and inviting, with space for all the hotel guests to chill and hang out -North Shore picked us up from my parent's lake house on the other side of the lake in their 2 pontoon boats, and we had a blast riding to the ceremony -everything was meticulously set up, from the beautiful white chairs to the signs we had made -Can't stress how beautiful the outdoor ceremony was -My husband and I scheduled 5 minutes alone together in the bocce ball quart after the ceremony during cocktail hour, and the staff had pre set a plate of hors d'ouvres and 2 cocktails there for us so we didn't miss any of the food -One of the waitresses told my husband and I at the start of the night that she was going to make sure we ate enough and drank enough water throughout the night- she was so sweet, and several times made sure we had cocktails and champagne. -The dance floor was big enough for all of our friends and family to dance- we were on the floor the entire night! - We used all of the North Shore House's preferred vendors (Platinum Band, Karen's Kreations, Orchard Street photography, Stocker Bus) and couldn't have been happier with their suggestions -We did an after party in the back bar- super fun! If you want a beautiful venue with picture perfect outdoor space, cozy indoor space, delicious food, super helpful personnel, and overall GREAT vibes, book North Shore House!
