Great and dependable team
I am so glad we hired America and her partner for our wedding! We could not be more impressed and grateful for their dedicated work. They made sure our wedding ran as smoothly as possible and went above and beyond to make sure our wedding turned out the way we envisioned. America was very attentive and responsive leading up to the wedding. She showed up for everything we needed her for and more. Very pleasant and kind people to work with. I highly recommend them!
Outstanding, Great coordinator
From our first meeting to the last meeting, the team at Happily Ever After Wedding Services was incredibly professional and helpful. Their communication style was fast, efficient, and they had an outstanding understanding of what we wanted for our special day. The quality of their work was truly outstanding - they were incredibly liable and professional, serving as the main point of contact for all our vendors. They also helped guide our guests and family members throughout the day, ensuring everything went smoothly. Happily Ever After was instrumental in helping us plan and execute our dream wedding. We couldn't have done it without them, and we highly recommend their services.
Stressed and Disappointed
I hired Happily Ever After for the month of coordination service for my wedding earlier in September. I was hoping America would be able to keep the day flowing, help set up decorations, help coordinate my rehearsal, create a timeline, and everything else that goes with coordination. I had all my other vendors booked so there wasn’t any planning like activities included. I didn’t feel as though this vendor knew what she was doing nor had the experience she alluded to. I had to follow up more with her than her coming to me to get things done or coordinating directly with vendors. Additionally, the rehearsal was really unorganized and it seems like myself and friends and family had to take charge to get it completed. The day of the wedding was no different when she started calling me while I was getting ready asking how to put the flowers on the arch. I found out later from multiple friends, family and vendors, that she went to them to ask questions like “what time should we start the toast?”, “how do I put the candles down the aisle?”, and not knowing what song my flower girls walk down the aisle to (even though I specified what songs were for who). My groom, mother-in-law, and venue coordinator should not have been fielding questions from her on the day of my wedding. I was very disappointed because my first impression of her was so positive. I don't know if it's a question of experience, not having a take-charge approach, lack of communication and preparation or simply not taking notes and asking questions in real time. It caused me more stress than it should have. When she asked if they could start breaking stuff down while there was still an hour left of my reception due to "not wanting to sit around and do nothing", I realized I should have dismissed her hours ago. I don't know how many weddings she has worked or even attended, but she needs to gain real experience before taking on these jobs.
Excellent Wedding Planner
America is such an amazing person to work with. Wanted to have a wedding of about 150 people in the Chicago Metropolitan area and a budget of 22,000 USD (just wanna say that keeping to the budget was my main goal). This can be typically difficult given the cost of venues and things in the Chicago area. America helped find a glamorous ball-style venue (my preference) that also had an outside lake as a great view for the ceremony. The venue also catered to most of the other needs at a reasonable price. Furthermore, we met regularly with America to go over what our expectations of each vendor would be, and with a great understanding of what we wanted, she was resourceful in getting the appropriate vendors and negotiating a good price with them. She made sure that within the short period of planning (we contacted her about 4 months before the wedding), every step of the plan towards the wedding day was carried out in a timely manner with nothing left unattended to... I mean nothing. On the day of the wedding, she drew up a great timeline and went above and beyond to ensure all went according to plan timely and we were not stressed out. It was such a good and memorable event that we received numerous compliments on it. With her being very affordable for the service she gives and she being intentionally involved in everything, we definitely kept to budget and had better than the wedding we had hoped for. She was on top of her game from start to finish . She isn't only an event planner to us but is also a friend. I thank God for you america and for all you did. These few words cannot fully explain how excellent you are in what you do.
