When I take photographs, my goal is to stay as true to the moment as possible. Hopefully, when you look at my photos years down the road, you won't just say "that's how we looked", instead you'll say "that's how we were". I love photographing - brides laughing with bridesmaids and close friends, champagne toasts (or whiskey), the point in the night when everyone switches from high heels to flip flops (or converse), drunk dancing, and, most importantly, stolen glances across crowded rooms. Darcy was an absolute pleasure to work with and we LOVE our photos. She truly captured the emotions of the day and the essence of all the people we love the most. Any time i look at our photos, i find myself involuntarily smiling. She captured the classic posed photos AND the precious in-between moments where people are being their most authentic selves (the face my dad makes when he's really intently listening, the hand gestures my mom uses when she's explaining something and can't find the right words, the face my mother in law makes when she's cracking herself up, the face my father in law makes right before the tears fall, and so so many more). Not ONLY are her photos amazing, but she made us feel so relaxed on the day-of. Her style is totally unobtrusive, which is just what we needed. Darcy got such amazing photos of all our guests we put 4x6" prints in our thank you cards and people were SO appreciative. She's on fridges across America. Comments we've gotten in response to Darcy's photos: "WOW your photographer is phenomenal", "this is the best photo of us in existence", "you guys look so happy!", "I feel like the photographer really captured your personalities" If capturing joy is important to you, hire Darcy. My only regret is getting her for 7 hours instead of 9.

We loved working with Darcy. It was so easy to be around her during our wedding, which was important to us as a couple who isn't the biggest fan of having our photos taken. She was super professional and took both portraits and joyful candid photos of us and all our guests. She and her team managed to get a candid, lovely photo of every single one of our guests without having to make us pose with them all night. We're an interracial couple and we were worried about having photos where only one of us was well lit. Darcy did a great job of making both of us, and all our guests of different backgrounds, look great. We love our photos!

Darcy was a pleasure to work with! She was so accommodating and informative throughout the process. I did a lot of our wedding planning at the last minute and I have never had professional photos done so I wasn't exactly sure what to expect but Darcy walked me through the wedding day and made sure that we had a clear plan. She was also very patient with all of my last minute changes to the schedule. I originally reached out to Darcy because I loved the style of her photos and I was incredibly pleased when I saw our photos. I would definitely reach out to her for future events/family photos!

As planning goes, I had a last-minute idea for a proposal in the Arlington area. I wanted to make the moment unforgettable and capture it forever. I reached out to Darcy from a web search and asked if it was possible for her to capture the moment with only 24 hours' notice. To my delight, she responded promptly and was an absolute joy to work with. The weather in the area was unpredictable, but Darcy reassured me with multiple options and provided beautiful examples of what we could do. She went above and beyond just being a photographer—she became my guide and planner, giving me invaluable advice and even helping me scout the perfect location. When the big moment came, she gave me clear instructions on where she would be and positioned herself perfectly so that I knew exactly when to pop the question. My now-fiancée was completely surprised, and our friends and family were blown away by the photos. They turned out so beautifully that people thought they were a staged reenactment because of how perfect they looked. Darcy captured the magic of our proposal in a way that exceeded all my expectations. Her dedication, creativity, and genuine care for making our moment special made all the difference.
