I’m Alyssa. You can call me Lys. (It rhymes with Kiss) ☺ I'm a photographer based in Des Moines, Iowa. I travel often. Couples, elopements, and small weddings are my speciality. My style leans documentary, timeless, and sincere, with some avant-garde editorial vibes, artsy influences, and good old fashioned weirdness mixed in. I love color, flash, film, and all things non-traditional. I got my start in music photography, which greatly informs my shooting style, and have been documenting Iowa's music scene and touring with bands for over 10 years!

    I'm a micro-wedding venue owner and I recently hosted a gorgeous LGBTQ+ styled shoot. From beginning to end Alyssa was a pleasure to work with. She initiated correspondence - including overall vision, clear expectation, and a comprehensive schedule for all vendors. Her ability to pull a vision together and pay attention to detail are equally strong. She had the ability to manage a project while simultaneously making all vendors and models feel comfortable. She excels at bringing out the most of her models & left the venue in great condition. I will not hesitate to work with Alyssa again - She's an absolute pleasure!
