You can call me Jem. The first think you'll notice about me is my accent. Originally from Sydney Australia, I followed love to the other side of the planet. I did not not grow up with a camera in my hand knowing I wanted to be a photographer. I started with photography by photographing Punk/Hardcore bands but eventually stopped photographing those shows because I didn't want my camera gear to get broken by someone stagediving. Being apart of that music scene help me cultivate friendships with people all over the world, and gave me lots of travel opportunities. Those experiences carried over into weddings helping me understand real documentary style moments and being comfortable surrounded by new people.

I like to take pictures of people and their special moments in different and unique ways. Every person, every subject, and every important day is different, so the variety of approaches I use will be just as diverse. I’m not your typical mall studio photographer and I always think outside of the standard ‘pose-smile-and-say-cheese’ box. I think the best pictures usually come when we stop trying to get the best pictures and try to have some fun instead.

Emmanuel Boakye Appiah (aka Kwame Blue) is a Massachusetts based fashion & wedding photographer with over 10 years of experience under his belt. Having started out as a self-taught photographer armed only with zeal, a degree in Public Health and a smidge of ambition, Emmanuel started his photography career with his brothers Samuel, Justice and Junior. During his career, Rodrigo has served the US Army for 3 years and devoted many hours to his local community.
