(Yeah, you read that right, carry on.) ​When I was younger, my dad used to follow me around with an old camcorder (you know, one of those big ones with the VHS tapes in it) and narrate my little life. It’s so much fun to hook the camera up to the TV now and watch all those clips again. I’ve seen them so many times I can quote some of the things little me is saying in the videos.

Basic human nature compels us to take an interest in photography. How can we understand the passage of time, the reality of the past, and of right now, without it? I cannot think of any other medium that so greatly encompasses preservation, appreciation, gratitude and documentation the way that photography does. Photographs have power.
