As the lead singer for Boston based band Living Syndication, he was used to being on the other side of the lens but was always fascinated with how and what made a picture or video speak to the viewer. Before I was a photographer, I grew up in the wedding industry. Spending my summers surrounded by tulle, sewing machines, and brides-to-be. Long Island has been my home my whole my life and I’m always reminded that I’m never to far from the beach and fall is the best weather. I went to college at Stony Brook University studying business and marketing and keeping photography as my hobby. I chose to name my company Papillon Photography, Papillon in French means butterfly’s. Butterfly’s are significant to most and when I shoot couples, families, product or I’m behind the scenes editing the images are being transformed into something beautiful.

Building connections with my subjects is super important to me...the more comfortable you are with the person taking photos, the more comfortable you'll be in front of the camera! After freelancing over 9-10 years as a Wedding Cinematographer and Photographer, I have finally achieved the dream of opening my own studio. Tyler’s love of photography started in his mid-twenties while touring with the Billboard-charting indie-rock band, A Great Big Pile of Leaves. Tyler’s documentary photography style is inspired by photo journalism and his editing embodies the tones, contrast and color familiar to analog film. While he enjoys the technical and creative aspects of portraiture photography, capturing the spontaneity of life is what drives his work.
