Hi, I'm Candace and I have a thing for weddings! I didn't start as a wedding photographer, I actually started as a BIRTH photographer surprisingly! I was addicted to capturing real and raw moments for families to have and relive over and over. I actually was nervous for weddings, which is why I didn't start doing them. One thing led to another and as people started asking me if I WOULD shoot their wedding, I decided to give it a try. Fast-forward to dozens and dozens of weddings later and I am obsessed!! I grew up in Omaha, Nebraska surrounded by weddings and events. My family owns an event venue there still. I took a detour and played professional golf for a number of years before A. Cakes was born in 2021. It was only fitting that I come full circle and work back in the wedding industry where my heart truly lies. I am in love with the process of learning, practicing and executing new and fun techniques on my clients’ cakes. More than that, creating a cake for someone’s special day gives me the most warm feeling. It’s truly why I do what I do.

I’m originally from New Mexico and have lived in 6 states so far, but recently my husband and I have moved to Arizona. I’m based in the greater Phoenix area but am always traveling around the state and U.S. for weddings! I’ve been married to my best friend, Cody, for 9 years now. I’ve been a professional photographer for about 7 years now. I’ve always had a passion for photography. Photography is my passion and it’s my full-time job.
