There is nothing quite like the elegance of strings. We recommend string groups for Wedding Ceremonies, Elegant Dinners, and Cocktail Hours. Whether it is the standard grouping of Violin, Violin, Viola and Cello or a hybrid ensemble with harp or guitar, our players are well versed in both classical and contemporary repertoire. Our Hoppin’ John Steel Band performs Calypso, Soca, Reggae, Carnival, Belafonte, “Beach Music” and standard American selections as well. Instrumentalists in this group include steel drums (or “pans”) of various sizes, guitar, bass, drums, percussion, keyboard, horns, vocalists, limbo dancers and other specialists added for special occasions.

The Celtic Balladeers perform all styles of Irish and Celtic music. In the above sound clip they are captured live (VERY live) on St. Patty’s day at Coogan’s on Broadway. The sound clip features our guitar and tenor banjo duo while the complete band includes several other instrumentalists such as guitar, Irish tenor banjo, accordion, fiddle, bass, drums, bodhran, whistle, pipes, flute, mandolin, keyboard, horns, vocalists and dancers. Besides the standard, and county specific Irish material they can also perform a whole catalog of American dance music.

Erica Mancini is one of our top artists at Music Dept. She is a Chicago-land native, born to Argentine parents, who moved to New York City in 2009. Erica has performed as an accordionist, vocalist, and percussionist internationally and throughout the US. Her diverse repertoire includes Jazz, New Orleans Music, French, and German/Bavarian/Oktoberfest. Topu Lyo and Randy Bergida began performing together in 1999 when their friends and siblings started getting married. With each event came many personal requests for music and they discovered their knack for arranging any type of song and founded the cornerstone of New York Ceremony Music with their custom arrangements on cello and guitar. They have been collaborating in their musical endeavors for 20 years and now they have a diverse, ever-growing repertoire ranging from The Beatles to Fleet Foxes, Elliot Smith to The National, Depeche Mode to Django Reinhardt and everything in between.
