“John is a phenomenal DJ and all around person, we were lucky enough to find him just a few months prior to our wedding date after a venue change and honestly are so happy we had to find him! During the weeks leading up to our wedding he invited us to his home and taught my husband and I dance lessons so we looked like we knew what we were doing for our first dance, and we got so many compliments on it. He also was great on suggesting how the flow of the music should be for the processional songs all the way to the end of the reception. We had horrible rain right before the ceremony and John was quick to help my mom fix everything! At our wedding, we had some hiccups with the food not being ready after the ceremony, so John quickly stepped in and found other activities to do while we waited for food to be ready. Guests assumed this was planned, which was great. His wife joined him for the wedding and helped out tremendously by keeping the dance floor dry from all the rain we had and just being an extra set of hands for everything which we loved. At the end of the night John had asked if we were okay with a certain song he wanted to play that he thought our friends would love, and we are still getting told how fun that was to end the night. If you’re looking for a DJ who truly pours his heart and soul into making your day as special as you want it to be, look no further. This is your guy. “We absolutely loved working with The Hook Club. Our amazing planner, Greenhouse Events, recommended THC, and we were sold immediately after meeting with Dan. He is super relaxed, nice, and so knowledgable. Dan and THC team made planning super easy for us. They took time to hear about our hopes and helped recommend different band sizes for us. We hadn’t heard of a DJ band before, but loved the idea of some live music with the versatility to play all sorts of music, but our venue wasn’t very big and we also didn’t want to break the bank and hire a huge band. We chose the 4 piece DJ band with singer, sax, drums, and DJ. We knew we LOVED the sax, so we also had the sax play for cocktail hour (shout out to Elijah, who was amazing), and it was one of the best parts of the night. For planning music, they sent out a very detailed and thorough spreadsheet with more songs than one could imagine, and we could rate ones we liked the most, choose ones we definitely wanted or didn't, and choose specific songs for important moments. We met a couple times to review music choices as well. One of our biggest fears with a DJ was that they'd talk too much and be a little annoying, but Dan did a great job as MC, and was very low-key like we asked but announced important moments clearly. Dan and all the musicians had such great energy and got everyone on the dance floor. Our vocalist, Christen, was also amazing — her voice was spectacular, and she was such an amazing performer and got everyone involved in the music and dancing. So many people told us how much they loved the music and the energy, and had never heard of a DJ band but thought it was an amazing concept and the addition of live music over tracks added extra excitement and fun. THC also helped out with lighting (uplights and dance lights), and worked with our fantastic planner and the venue to help us decide the best setup. Ultimately, we loved working with THC. Their DJ-band setup is unique and adds so much variety to your music while allowing for some of the energy that comes from live performers. We danced the night away and had an absolute blast. 100% would recommend THC to anyone!”
