Something Borrowed Blooms

4.9

  • Starts at $250
  • Serves Westchester, IL

Thousands of brides across the United States and Canada have trusted Something Borrowed Blooms to provide the perfect flowers for their wedding day. We offer brides the expensive peonies, delicate ranunculus, out-of-season anemones, and the ever-impossible-to-find-magnolia — all at a fraction of the cost.

Awarded Best of Zola
Something Borrowed Blooms provided the most lifelike and luxurious floral arrangements for our wedding day. The bouquets, ceremony pieces and boutonnieres were all incredibly realistic and high quality, with vibrant colors and lush textures that exceeded our expectations. In fact, as my husband and I were taking photos in a park, a bee even tried to pollinate my bouquet, drawn to its beauty and realism. Getting the boxes to the venue did require a bit of coordination, but with a little help from friends we were able to easily box them up the day after the wedding and ship them off via FedEx. We saved easily 2,000 thanks to Something Borrowed and you would never know the flowers were fake.

I was initially weary to hire a national florist rather than a local one, but once speaking with my poppy team, I was sold. They took my inspiration and ran with it! I loved them because they took so much stress of me. After the initial consult, I barely had to do anything. Closer to wedding day, I was put in contact with my florist, gave her my venue info and she handled everything! With everything I had to plan and worry about, it was nice knowing Poppy had my flowers covered. They came and set up my arch and isle clusters and made sure all my florals went where I had planned for them.

Leah and her time were dedicated, diligent, and so creative in their work as my florist for my wedding. Leah worked really hard to give me my dream flowers within the budget I named, and we got so many compliments on the flowers and decor throughout our wedding. I particularly loved the "Design Your Bouquet" evening she put together for me and my mother/MIL that helped make my dream bouquet feel real!

Evanston Lands

5.0

  • Starts at $275
  • Serves Westchester, IL

In 2020, we grew cut flowers in two Evanston yards. The hope was to sell weekly bouquets to our neighbors, with all proceeds going to Connections for the Homeless. The endeavor was a success and we had a great season. We then expanded to a vacant lot on Gross Point Rd. An abundance of sun and soil remediation has made the lot healthy and productive, and added beauty to a very busy corner. We offer subscriptions, workshops, and event florals. Couples interested in playing a part in the design of their wedding florals can work with us to DIY their special day or even use our lovely studio to create with family and friends.

Jen did the flowers for our wedding and she was absolutely fantastic to work with. Our huppah was so special, especially because she had either grown the flowers herself or sourced them locally. Jen is a perfect combination of easygoing and intense. We loved figuring out together how our vision would best work in flowers and decor. Jen was a gentle guide, responsive to feedback, and always looking for new and fun ways to create an incredible atmosphere. We knew we were in good hands, but we couldn't have predicted just how spectacular the flowers would be. Great experience, beautiful results. Thank you, Jen!

PROJECT 1952

5.0

  • Starts at $7,000
  • Serves Westchester, IL

I love color and a well-curated day trip. I have a total obsession with plants and finding the best Spotify playlists. When I’m not flowering, you’ll probably find me thrifting for bespoke home finds, dominating 1500-piece puzzles, and scouring the internet for the next best concert in Chicago.

We used Project 1952 for our engagement party. We were so thrilled with the outcome. Naimah was so engaged and attentive to our vision for the day. She took our vision and made it come to life while using her own creativity. She arrived well ahead of time to get the room set up and the arrangements in place. She thought about every detail down to edible flowers and glitter in the ice cubes that had our guests raving. She was so easy to work with and went above and beyond what we had asked of her. We could not recommend her work enough! We will definitely be using her again!

I used to live in Evanston and relied on Saville for all my special occasions. When it came to planning my wedding, I knew that head floral designer Mark was the only person for my floral vision! He graciously agreed to fly down and cater to our wedding in Fort Myers, Florida. Mark went above and beyond to make our wedding decor outstanding. He took on much more than just a florist role- he basically stepped in and became the day-of coordinator. He is a natural!! I hadn't hired a wedding planner, and Mark basically took it upon himself to be that person. It was amazing, and I would highly recommend his services. As far as the flowers go- I will let the photos speak for themselves. The spread was absolutely stunning and even beyond what I had in mind. Mark met my vision and then added to it! I never would have thought of the fresh fruit on the tables, but it really brought such a pop of life and freshness to our early Spring wedding! The complimenting candles were also his idea, and it made the space glow beautifully when the sun went down. Best of all was my bridal arrangement. As you can see, it was the highlight of every photo. THANK YOU MARK AND SAVILLE!! Because of you, my wedding day was brighter. I cannot recommend this team highly enough for their professionalism, artistic vision, creativity, and commitment to your big day!

Flower Moxie – Do-It-Yourself Wedding Flowers

4.9

  • Starts at $350
  • Serves Westchester, IL

In 2013, 8-year wedding veteran Amy McCord Jones realizes she wouldn't be able to afford to hire her own floral services if she was a bride. Then, Amy discovers that there is basically zero help available for DIY brides. No flower recipes. No instructions. No access to florist-grade blooms. Rude. So she launches Flower Moxie! Flower Moxie remains a humble, tucked-away small business out of Oklahoma City. We don’t zoom around on scooters in some fancy high-rise. We stock an average kitchen with canned wine and Aldi chips and listen to true crime podcasts while photographing curvy ranunculus. Join us. There’s cake, hugs, and acceptance here.

Awarded Best of Zola
We were on a strict budget for our wedding. I knew that florals would be the best way to save on some of the huge wedding costs. I found out about Flower Moxie from googling where I would get wholesale flowers. I was immediately hooked once I saw the flower options, tutorials, and worksheets to help plan out my special day. I am very big on organization, and this website had resources for every step of the way. I found the perfect combination of flowers for my boho wedding. I ordered the flowers about 2 months before our big day. It was a destination wedding, so I was checking into our airbnb on the day the flowers were arriving. I had them scheduled to be delivered at the Fedex holding center near by. I thought the company only used Fedex shipping based on my research. I went into full panic mode when I saw the flowers had been shipped by UPS. I immediately called UPS and Fedex, and to be honest I was stunned at the behavior on the other side of the phone. The flowers were still in transit, and no one would help me with rerouting. I called Flower Moxie to see if they could change things on their side as they were the sender. Luis answered the phone and it felt like I finally had someone looking out for me. I had already spent 4 hours on the phone with the shipping companies and gotten nowhere. Luis said he was on it and not to worry. I ordered enough flowers for 18 centerpieces, 70 bud vases, 8 bouquets, and 1 flower arch. Needless to say, it was quite the ordeal to reroute everything. Over the next 48 hours, Luis kept in constant contact with me about the progress of the shipment. I know I was on the phone for at least 6 hours with this ordeal, and I wouldn't be surprised if he had spent about 15 hours talking to UPS, Fedex, florists, and customs to get me my flowers. He made me feel calm and taken care of. Everyone was coming to me with questions and concerns the entire wedding week, and I can't express how it felt to have someone have my back, and take an extremely big tasks off my plate. I would absolutely recommend this company for DIY brides. And I hope this review is seen by Flower Moxie to highlight an outstanding employee with excellent customer service. In an age when it takes time and multiple attempts in order to talk to a person on the phone, I am so appreciative of the effort that was given by Luis for my wedding day. He made me feel like it was an important event for him too. Thank you Luis for making my wedding dreams come true! My sister also mentioned you in her MOH wedding speech. We were all impressed :)

Our wedding was in 2016. My husband and I knew we wanted comic book details in different parts of our wedding day; we did not anticipate flowers being an area we would do this. I also had a clear idea of what I didn’t want for floral. Enter Bunny. All I could tell her was: I love pink, roses are stupid, I like carnations, maybe some lilies if those were in season. This was not a lot to work with, and didn’t give her much direction. Y’all - she is so creative and talented!! She did paper flowers out of old comic books, found me a bunch of gorgeous pink flowers, added greenery, and did not include roses. My flower girls had flower wands and they loved them. My bouquet ribbon had The Hulk on it. Bunny thought of things I did not, and it was exactly perfect. You will absolutely not be disappointed if you hire her.
