We had an absolutely beautiful wedding. All of the designs we picked came to life beautifully on the day of. The food and cake were absolutely to die for and we received so many compliments from our guests about this as well. We absolutely loved Michael in the design studio as well as Abby our day of coordinator. My only grievance and reason for not giving 5 stars is the communication during and after the planning and wedding day. We had to ask for things to be updated and fixed multiple times before things would be addressed which was a bit frustrating. One thing that really upset me was the fact that I had to correct the company at least 4 times in the months before the wedding that the bout count for the boys was wrong in the contract and was ensured it would be fixed. Eventually the count was fixed on the contract but come wedding day they were short 2 bouts and when I brought it up to the planner she was seemed quite unapologetic and in a rush to do other things. My photographer ended up making some with the leftover babies breath from my girls hair. This company will produce a beautiful wedding with all of the bells and whistles but can work on their communication with the bride and other family members, we are paying quite a bit of money after all. Check check and check your contract and you will have smooth sailing! Would recommend this venue

We booked our April wedding at Cacapon and it was perfect. We booked the Old Inn for the Rehearsal Dinner and as a place for us and the bridal party to stay. The ceremony took place out on the terrace and the reception was inside the ballroom. Everything was perfect!

With our 15-acre campus, there are numerous options to choose for your wedding with our three distinct ballrooms and two outdoor ceremony locations. In addition, all our ballrooms do have the capability to have an indoor ceremony option.

We love working with couples at Nationwide Hotel for several reasons. First, it is logistically so much easier for couples to have everything taking place in one location. They can stay overnight the night before, get ready there, ceremony, photos, reception, and then afterward all of their guests can stay right there. This means there is no need to coordinate guest transportation, off-site hotels, bridal party transportation for photos, or have an elongated break for photography after the ceremony since it is much faster to do on site. Second, there are plenty of outdoor spaces for couples or bridal party photos if it rains! This is a huge advantage that not all venues have and rain is a real concern for an Ohio wedding. Third, there is a variety of spots on the property for doing group or couples photos. You can have the look of brick, green lawn, the beautiful pergola with all the greenery, the iconic covered walkway, some flowers, a tree-lined area where the leaves change colors SO perfectly in the Fall, and of course the fountain! By the way, the pond is amazing for sunset photos! We have been at Nationwide many times as photographers and always had a great experience. The food was always hot and served on schedule, and their staff is so friendly and genuinely wants to create the best experience for their guests. You cannot go wrong with any of their event spaces!

We are SO grateful to Camp Lindenmere for having the most beautiful venue and the most supportive, helpful staff! I knew I wanted a camp wedding from day 1 of planning, but most camps require a lot of DIY. Kyle, Elliot and staff are SO on top of planning ,guest bookings, timelines, day of coordination, doing all the set up (I mean we literally brought in our mug favors and they put the little “thank you” tags on, they put batteries in our taper candles, etc. I swear they don’t say no.) The food all weekend was incredible, the drinks were flowing (my husband and I were CRAVING the ribs we had at the reception for a full week after). Our guests were really pleasantly surprised at the “country club” feel of the summer camp - staff is always around on golf carts to escort guests as needed, there’s even a beer golf cart going around on Saturday. The waterfront was beautiful, everyone got a kick out of the high ropes course, people were playing volleyball under the lights all hours of the night. They told us the after-party would end at 1:30 but we were partying til 3:30 and no one was kicking us out. I’m trying to convince everyone I know to get married here so I can come back as a guest!

Our guests loved that they could play lawn games outside, stroll through the trees, or dance the night away inside! The day of our wedding, the onsite catering team made everything run so smoothly and really went above and beyond in helping to set up and tear down. I don’t even know where to begin. Before the wedding day, Grace, Klara, and Tina went above and beyond on every single detail to make this day truly special. They were there every step of the way and responded so quickly. I know they were working with so many other weddings, but made me feel special like I was the only wedding they were focusing on. Wagon Master Ranch was absolutely amazing! We had our ceremony outside down by the pond and it was perfect , the twinkle lights and the pond fountain were such a sweet additional touch to the area ! My favorite part of the ceremony area was the handcrafted door just before I walked down the aisle ! The reception building turned out absolutely beautiful with all the decor and different sets of lighting options we had ! The bella room for the bride was gorgeous ! Such a great place to get ready in , my wedding party and I really enjoyed ourselves in such a comfortable area . Our experience at the venue was just perfect for our big day ! We had the tractor wagon to drive our wedding party around . Mr.Roger and Mrs.Debb were awesome to work with . They made us feel like we are part of the family and were so welcoming ! We even invited them to our wedding and ceremony ! They are such a fun couple !

Vanessa, who resides on site at Veasey Park, made our planning and event execution a total breeze! Her recommendations for bartender and tent/event setup were exactly what we needed. They were attentive and professional. Everyone we encountered in planning and holding our event were so easy to get in touch with, and Vanessa walked us through every step of the way. If you love a beautiful outdoor setting like we do, this historical park is for you! The grounds are stunning, complete with an old 1920’s hunting lodge built by the Veasey family. The park offers stunning views of the lake below, a great playground for young guests to enjoy, and if you time your event correctly, you will find the local farmer bringing his goats in to graze on the abundant vegetation. This venue really focuses on maintaining the natural beauty of the property, both inside and out! If you are looking for a cozier, cooler weather setup, just look to the gorgeous hunting lodge with it’s beautiful hardwood floors and stone chimneys! It was an absolute dream, and we couldn’t have been happier with our choosing Veasey Park for a wedding party!

I own Sounds "R" us dj and event services and can strongly say that camp newaygo and their staff take great pride in their facility and every aspect of the venue setting. Their catering is top notch. I would highly recommend camp newaygo.

Sunset Place was a stunning venue for our wedding. The huge property has a magical, fairy-like feel with beautiful outdoor spaces surrounded by nature. The staff was very friendly, straightforward in their communication, and responsive to all our needs. They stocked us up with plenty of firewood and then mostly left us be to enjoy the space. We especially appreciated that they had extra decor and supplies on hand that enhanced our decorations and helped our special day go smoothly. The venue was exceptionally priced given the lovely property, amenities, and excellent service. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect place to celebrate our marriage and make memories with our loved ones.

Lilac Hill is a family owned 80 acre property in Louisville, NE, about 25 minutes from Omaha and 45 minutes from Lincoln. The original founders of Lilac Hill, Don and Bev Maxon, bought this old run down property in the 80's and set out to create their own arboretum. There are dozens of old growth trees, hundreds of blue spruce, and thousands of flowering shrubs and plants, which provide beautiful color and depth everywhere you go. The space combines elements of BoHo, Rustic, Elegant, and Industrial in a romantic natural landscape. So many of our guests comment that they don't feel like they're in Nebraska anymore! The property is enclosed by trees, providing a feeling of seclusion and exclusivity where your guests can hang out under our 100' tall cottonwood trees and smell the lilac scented breezes. We are so happy we chose Lilac Hill to have our wedding ceremony and reception at. The property is beautiful, with so many different sites available to have the ceremony at (we chose in front of the old barn). Chris, the owner, was so easy to work with and very responsive. We were really happy with the pricing as well, and all the things included in the packages they offer. They also have lots of decor available to use for free! On our wedding day, everything went perfectly, and a big part of that was because of the help from Chris and Winter. We also really loved the bartenders that worked our wedding! If you’re looking to have a rustic/barn wedding, we truly can’t recommend Lilac Hill enough. You’ll be so happy you did!!

My husband and I took our first vacation to Whitefish and absolutely fell in love with Montana on that trip. When we got engaged and started planning our wedding we had family & friends flying from all over that we thought we'd do it there to show them the beautiful state. I stumbled across The Woodlands when we were back home, we did a virtual tour with Elsa and immediately booked it sight unseen until the week of the wedding. When we finally saw it in person we were stunned at how much more beautiful it was in person. The drive in from downtown is absolutely gorgeous, you pull up to the venue and you're surrounded by trees. The Greatroom where we had our reception was meticulously maintained and updated, the dressing rooms were adorable and so spacious for all of the bridal party, everything just really made sense. Elsa & Jaslin were great to work with, I think Meaghan was our day of manager who was amazing and easy to work with. Everything just flowed so well. Great vendors really make a great wedding and you will not go wrong booking the Woodlands, and take it from us you can even do it sight unseen and be stoked. All of our guests voted our wedding one of the best, with a venue that was unlike any other they've been to. Thank you for everything!

As a wedding photographer I was SO stoked when I was hired to do a wedding here last year in 2023. There are so many different places to take pictures and so many great, colorful backdrops. How much do wedding & reception venues cost?

The cost of wedding venues varies, with factors influencing cost including size, location, guest count, and, most importantly, whether things like catering and rentals are included. The more a reception venue near you includes, the higher the cost. When considering venues, try to compare prices apples-to-apples. If one venue includes catering and rentals in their pricing and the other doesn’t, you need to figure out how much additional cost those outside vendors would be to make a true comparison. Before booking, be sure you’re aware of additional costs outlined in your contract, like parking fees and weather-related considerations (adding a tent, etc.).

What questions should we ask wedding venues?

When talking with a potential venue, always ask about 1) their availability and 2) their capacity. Some popular venues book up peak season Saturdays nearly 2 years in advance—if your first choice date isn’t available, consider your flexibility on day of the week and year. While maximum capacity is non-negotiable, venues might have guidance on what guest count will be most comfortable. Also, you’ll want to understand what is and is not included in the venue’s fees. Some include catering, tables and chairs, and linens, while others offer just the raw space. These venues are often less expensive because you are only paying for the space itself, and you’ll have to bring in outside vendors
