He makes you know that he cares about your special day and isn’t just somebody you hired for 7 hours to take your photos. On the day of the wedding he arrived hours before my wedding to get a feel for the venue and check in on my wife and her bridesmaids. My guests loved him and had such a great time conversing and posing for photos. I cannot think of anyone better to spend your special day with than JMorr Photography. Charity Lynn Weddings

Creating gratitude centered, bespoke wedding experiences for adventurous couples who want to rediscover the magic of Maine & New England. New England holds a special place in your heart. Whether you spent your childhood vacations on the beaches of Maine or grew up in Newport, Rhode Island, the idea of escaping back to New England to celebrate your love story fills you with delight.

Originally I thought I could handle wedding planning myself with the help of our venue coordinator -- but as our wedding day approached, the overwhelming amount of logistics planning our wedding from the other side of the country sent me into a tailspin. Enter Charity -- leaving our first discovery call I immediately felt myself relax. It was an easy decision to hire her and my only regret is not hiring her from Day 1! Charity is kind-hearted, detail-oriented, creative, and knows her stuff. We hired her for "Wedding Coordination & Management" 5 months before our wedding, but her support went far beyond our expectations for that sort of service. As soon as we signed our contract, Charity was available to answer any questions I had (even little things like, are real or fake candles better?), and three months out she really dove in. She attended all of our vendor meetings, asking questions we never would have thought of, advocating for our vision, and reassuring our decisions. She managed communications and made sure we and our vendors all stayed on track. When it came to the wedding weekend (9/14/24), Charity was our biggest cheerleader and fierce protector. Leading our rehearsal she made sure to tell everyone that SHE was their point of contact and not to bother myself or my husband the day of the wedding. She arrived on our wedding day before any vendors showed up and stayed until the last vendor left. This woman walked over 14 MILES running around making sure everyone was doing their job and everything was perfectly in place on our wedding day. Our decor was set up perfectly, we ran EARLY on our timeline (I've been in a lot of wedding and know it's a miracle to even be on time), and us and our entire families were able to fully relax, unbothered, knowing that everything was being handled by a pro. When it came to the end of the night, we were able to go enjoy our after party with our guests without worrying about tearing down our event. We woke up the next morning to everything put away neatly back in their boxes ready for us to haul home. Charity's support literally followed through to the very last minute. To those brides whose venues come with a coordinator — I would seriously recommend still hiring Charity. A venue coordinator is not t he same as what Charity offers. That wasn't clear to me before, but it's very clear after. If you want someone who can support coordination across ALL of your vendors, be by your side in the months leading up to the event, and advocate for your vision throughout, do not wait until the end like me! We truly didn't have a single thing go wrong on our wedding day, and I am certain that would not have been the case without Charity! We are eternally grateful for her support and will sing her praises forever! Photo credit: Natalia Paliyenko Photography

Festivity Films

5.0

  • Videographer
  • Storytelling style
  • Starts at $2,500
  • Serves Waterford, ME

Festivity's films are fun, joyful and often fast paced, though we do enjoy a good romantic flick, too. We like to find the humorous moments, and we thrive on action, working to be there in the unexpected as well as pre-planned moments. We've got about a decade of experience under our belts capturing and editing wedding footage, first for other companies, and for the past six years for our own. Shooting wedding films is stressful, but amazingly rewarding when a couple tells us that they love the film and will treasure it and share it with existing and future family and friends.

Katya's work is fantastic. We were originally not planning to hire a videographer for our day and we are SO glad that we did. Katya captured moments and emotion that cannot be portrayed with just a photograph. Her eye is incredible and she never missed a thing or needed direction about where to go. Through Katya, we were able to relive the best parts of our day and see moments big and small that we missed at the time: a hug between family before the ceremony, my grandmother on the dance floor, etc. She captured so many of our guests in addition to all of our important moments. When we showed the video to people, they all said, "Wow, I didn't even notice her there at that time!" which just speaks further to her ability to blend in and get natural moments captured. The thing we loved the most about Katya's work was that she infused natural sound from our day in the videos: the pop of a champagne bottle, the clapping or laughter of friends and family, the music we used in our ceremony, etc. It felt more personal than some over-produced videos from other vendors. We definitely recommend her to anyone!

I absolutely love my job as a bridal stylist because it allows me to play a small role in each of my couples unique love stories.

Grace did my bridal hair in 6/15/24. From the start, Grace was easy to work with. She scheduled a short notice bridal trial for me on her day off and made me so comfortable throughout. Afterward she was so open and willing to take feedback about my likes and things I’d like to change. She made me feel confident we’d get the exact style I wanted on my wedding day. Getting ready in the big day with Grace, her second stylist, and my bridal party was seamless. Grace was personable with us and made everyone look fabulous. I’m so happy with how my hair turned out and I would absolutely recommend Grace!!

1830 Wedding Barn

4.7

Oxford, ME
  • Venue
  • Up to 130 guests
  • Select services
  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $4,540

The Barn was originally built in the year 1830 in Oxford, Maine, and used to be a dairy farm and apple orchard owned by the Pratt family. In 2015, it was transformed into an idyllic wedding & special event venue. The 1830 Wedding Barn is a classic, New England gem set back off of Route 26, surrounded by Maine farmland. Inside of the barn you will see impressive hand hewn beams, original wooden floors and walls, and repurposed original antiques like the hanging apple orchard ladders, hay-claw chandelier, and the Hebron Academy milk cooler. The barn’s historic quality creates a unique experience for guests to celebrate any event. Outside of the barn you will see rolling hills, fields stretching to the edge of the woods, trees from the original apple orchard (which we still bake pies from!), and sunsets fading to the western side of the property. Guests are welcome to enjoy and explore the outside areas of the existing apple orchard and surrounding grounds.

We had our wedding at the 1830 Wedding Barn in September 2023. During the planning process the ownership of the barn changed hands, but we ultimately had a good experience with the new owners, Molly and Brian. They were kind, professional and helpful. The barn has an outdoor ceremony site under an apple tree as well as accommodations to have an indoor ceremony as well. We ended up having an indoor ceremony due to weather and utilized the venue's arbor (flowers not included). The inside of the barn is rustic and felt quite cozy in the evening with Edison bulb string lights twinkling. There are two newly updated restrooms attached to the barn and a live-edge wooden bar that adds to the rustic barn feel. Overall, we had a special day we will never forget at the 1830 Wedding Barn.

Imagine exchanging vows under the canopy of trees, surrounded by lush gardens and orchards. Jeff and Maria, the passionate owners, are dedicated to creating a truly unforgettable experience. From rustic elegance to boho chic, their expertise will ensure that your vision comes to life. Let Fairytale Gardens and Weddings be the enchanting backdrop for your happily ever after.

Fairytale Gardens and Weddings is a beautiful venue. As soon as my then fiance and I visited we fell in love with it. The property is large with plenty of room for people to spread out and have fun. So many of our guests came up to us to say how beautiful the venue is and we couldn't agree more. Gloria the barn has so much character that we kept our decorations simple because for us, the barn was perfect as it was. While we kept the decorations simple, the pay it forward attic was a huge help in the planning process. It was so nice to be able to use some of the decorations that were left over from past weddings so we weren't stuck with having to buy decorations that we'll never use again. The staff couldn't have been more helpful right from the initial start of the planning until the end of the night on our wedding day. They're very experienced and were excellent at helping us figure out exactly what we wanted for our special day. Having them there the day of the wedding was invaluable, they were such a big help with everything from setting up to reminding us about things on our itinerary that we were starting to forget about. All in all we were lucky to find Fairytale and have our wedding there. I honestly wouldn't be able to find a single negative thing to say even if I tried. I can't recommend this venue enough.

Medawisla Lodge is nestled within the heart of Maine’s 100-Mile Wilderness, set in a pristine area preserved by the Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC). As one of AMC’s most remote lodges, Medawisla offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, dense forests, and the tranquil shores of Second Roach Pond. Located just 30 miles from Greenville, ME, and a few hours from Bangor, Medawisla is the perfect retreat for couples seeking a secluded, wilderness setting to celebrate their love. With access to miles of hiking trails, canoeing, and opportunities to spot wildlife, Medawisla Lodge offers an unforgettable experience for your special day. AMC is a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting the mountains, forests, waters, and trails of the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions.

We had our wedding at AMC Medawisla in September 2023 and would highly recommend the venue after touring countless others in Maine! John, Charlene and the rest of the AMC staff allowed us to highly customize the weekend by cooking some of our favorite foods, adding additional signage so that our guests wouldn't get lost, and overall making the weekend as smooth as possible. Our guests enjoyed the star gazing! We appreciated that all our guests could stay onsite and some of cabins included bathrooms and showers for those that wanted a less rustic experience. We were nervous about black flies but ultimately it wasn't an issue at all even at dusk. Even though we had gorgeous weather, the dinning room in the Lodge is a fantastic back up rain option.

The whole team was extremely supportive and so excited to make our day perfect. We held our reception at the Tavern and the team worked with us to create the perfect winter wedding theme. The guests had a great time and really enjoyed the venue. One of my favorite things the team worked with me on was to create a late night s’mores bar out by the fire pits. Besides just holding the reception we also had our rehearsal dinner with them where they were able to work easily with all of our dietary restrictions. The majority of the wedding guests stayed at the inn and the team was super supportive of making sure the guests were able to make the most of their time area. It was truly a dream to work with them and I’d do it all over again.

I’m so happy we chose the Loon Lodge Inn to host our wedding. The food was spectacular, the tent was beautiful, and the lake views were amazing. But the real stars of the show were the hospitality and service from Kim and other staff members at the Loon Lodge. They went above and beyond the entire weekend. Everyone at our wedding sung the praises of the staff including their hard work, friendly demeanors, and their creativity to fix things when unexpected things happened. For example, when the florist’s arbor fell over and broke, the florist attempted to hold it together using ribbons and flowers that looked awful. Kim immediately fixed it using fishing line and it ended up looking beautiful as the fishing line wasn’t even noticeable and especially won’t be seen in pictures. Kim also tried extremely hard to have the ceremony outside despite forecasts of rain. Having the ceremony outside was the one thing I really wanted to happen that weekend. Kim was constantly checking the forecast that day and saw that there would be a window of opportunity without rain and at the last minute made an outside ceremony happen. Additionally, I didn’t realize that we never assigned someone to be in charge of the cake-cutting. Kim saw it was not being cut and went out of her way to cut everyone a slice of cake. There were many moments like this and I’m sure way more that happened behind the scenes that we weren’t privy to. The bartenders and other staff members, especially the chef, also did a fantastic job. Choosing the Loon Lodge Inn for our venue was the best decision I made regarding wedding planning. My now husband and I plan to return here for an anniversary trip one day. Thanks to the Loon Lodge Inn and Kim for a weekend that we will always remember and think fondly of!

Something Borrowed Blooms

4.9

  • Florist
  • Starts at $250
  • Serves Waterford, ME

Thousands of brides across the United States and Canada have trusted Something Borrowed Blooms to provide the perfect flowers for their wedding day. We offer brides the expensive peonies, delicate ranunculus, out-of-season anemones, and the ever-impossible-to-find-magnolia — all at a fraction of the cost.

I was very pleased with my experience with Something Borrowed Blooms! The flowers were quality silk, unlike typical fake flowers these felt and even smelled like flowers!! I enjoyed not having to waste flowers the day after our wedding, I could send them back in for the next bride! If I had not gone with something borrowed we likely would have make our own flower arrangements. I was nervous about not knowing how those would look until the day of. I loved knowing EXACTLY what my flowers would look like on my wedding day. They were gorgeous! The customer service was never lacking! My shipment was delayed by a day but the team was quick to respond to my nerves insuring me they would over night a replacement box if needed. We highly recommend!

Flower Moxie – Do-It-Yourself Wedding Flowers

4.8

  • Florist
  • Starts at $350
  • Serves Waterford, ME

In 2013, 8-year wedding veteran Amy McCord Jones realizes she wouldn't be able to afford to hire her own floral services if she was a bride. Then, Amy discovers that there is basically zero help available for DIY brides. No flower recipes. No instructions. No access to florist-grade blooms. Rude. So she launches Flower Moxie! Flower Moxie remains a humble, tucked-away small business out of Oklahoma City. We don’t zoom around on scooters in some fancy high-rise. We stock an average kitchen with canned wine and Aldi chips and listen to true crime podcasts while photographing curvy ranunculus. Join us. There’s cake, hugs, and acceptance here.

Because of all the florals already there due to the nature of the venue, and all the florals and plants they filled in, I didn’t feel the need to have a ton of florals, so I did them myself! I found Flower Moxie here on Zola and they were so great! If you are thinking about DIY’ing your florals, I would definitely recommend looking into Flower Moxie! They have some set packages you can chose from, but I upgraded to the highest personalized package and it was so worth it. I got to have a phone call with the florist and they put together a custom package, and they definitely killed it, the flowers were exactly what I had in mind. There were so many resources and they went through everything so well I felt so prepared and we had almost no issues putting all the florals together. All of our florals still looked fresh and beautiful on our wedding day, and some of the florals in our arch arrangements lasted WEEKS. A word of caution though: it is definitely a lot of work, so just ensure that you have enough time in town before your wedding (i.e. you can’t fly in the day before your ceremony, if you are traveling to that location) and enough people to help you (for putting together, transporting and anything day of). I actually really enjoyed getting to do my florals myself, and would highly recommend if you are creative and DIYing your wedding!

Nostalgia drove me into photography at an early age - and lead me into my studies of photojournalism. We all innately know when we're at a critical juncture in our lives. For me, being able to authentically capture, to preserve those moments in a photograph is such a privilege. I know how much it means to me to be able to look back and say 'this is how things actually happened.' There is beauty in those truths. The kind of folks I work with share that appreciation.

We used Corey for our wedding and engagement pictures. We worked with him for several months and he was always super responsive and clear with expectations, pricing, and giving us ideas. The whole process was made super easy. We knew what his vision was and how to help execute it to get the best results. Expectations for the events were also made clear and put into writing which was nice. Corey also met with us remotely and in person to discuss, always making himself available with our busy schedules. The day of the wedding he arrived ahead of schedule to set up and scope out the venue. All the pictures we wanted were taken, he also captured incredible photos throughout the day which told a story of the wedding. This included us getting ready, setting up the venue, ceremony, reception, and first dances. All the little moments that make the day special are now captured in photos. Looking back through the photos, we're able to recount what we were doing and we just couldn't stop smiling. The photos are all very high quality and we're provided to us just two weeks after our wedding. We expected Corey to deliver great photos based on his portfolio but we were still absolutely blown away. These photos will absolutely be cherished for years to come. If you're looking for a professional to help guide you through the process of having a photographer, who is affordable, easy going, and clear with his artistic vision this is your guy. Thank you so much for doing an extraordinary job documenting our day

Just like you, I have felt awkward in front of the camera. I’ve had photos taken of me that I didn’t like. When you go on a session with me, I will not only make you feel comfortable, but I will make sure you look good! I will give you prompts to keep you moving and laughing. I’m sorry but there are some angles, and poses that are not flattering for everyone. Like, please don’t take a photo of me from below! Hello double chin! What I’m saying is, I got you!

Lacie captured moments that took my breath away. Her style and skill is every bride’s dream. She delivers everything you adore from those Pinterest and Instagram wedding photos. So there is no question she can deliver what she is looking for. And we are beyond thrilled with all of our photos. The sneak peeks are also so much fun (she sends a batch of photos shortly after she shoots you). But where Lacie shines and what I have to tell you about is everything else. She truly went above and beyond. She’s not just a photographer, she’ll be one of your favorite people on your special day. Yes, Lacie is kind and friendly and comforting and just the kind of person you need on your wedding day (and who you wished you roomed with in college). But she is so much more. Here are just some of the few meaningful things Lacie did that I noticed that I’ll forever carry with me. Firstly, I had a very important rosary I wanted to photograph, and with the chaos, I had forgotten. It would have broken my heart if I left it behind. Lacie remembered. I got fixated on an insignificant hiccup on my wedding day that could have ruined my day. Lacie redirected my attention to the things that really mattered and brightened up my mood immediately. Leading up to the wedding, Lacie advocated for me and my husband ensuring us she was fully dedicated to only us on the day, literally saying “You and Sean are my priority.” Nobody and nothing would take her attention away from us. She was always quick to respond to texts, I could go to her for quick wedding advice, and she’s genuinely so passionate about her craft. Lacie could really be a wedding planner with how much she knows. Other vendors loved working with her, especially our videographers. She was so quick, efficient, and took initiative. She gave them space and skillfully took turns capturing moments with them. With a big wedding party and spacious venue, we kept losing track of people for pictures, Lacie corralled them masterfully. She’s not afraid to get people to focus and get the photos done, but also in the most polite and respectful way. I watched videos of brides saying I wish this or that moment was captured. Sometimes I’d forget whether I had those moments captured myself. Then I go to Lacie’s photos and every single thing that brides mentioned got missed by their photographer she captured for me. Her vibe! She’s so positive and cheery. I was so nervous and also worried about how dark my church was. She got me excited about it after turning it into a positive saying it would look like the theater and she could absolutely work with it. I texted her a shoot list the night before our wedding. She carried that around and took it so seriously making sure she captured everything I listed. I made a Pinterest board of photos I liked and she remembered ones I forgot I included in there. She was my favorite vendor (tied with my incredible florist @dazyflorals) and the vendor I had no worries about it. I didn’t have to check in with her. I could trust her with my eyes closed. She’d be where she needed to be on time, professional, and prepared. I’m going to miss her. Sign her and soak up her sunshine for me, will ya?

Jen is incredible and worth every penny! My husband and I weren't very sure about how we wanted our wedding florals to look. We also didn't want to spend thousands of dollars on flowers that would only last a day. We stumbled upon wood flowers and discovered Wood and Word Blooms! Working with Jen was wonderful and seamless. She helps you every step of the way to figure out what you would like. The DIY class was so much fun, and we were able to build all of our centerpieces, boutonnières, and bouquets. Jen also built my cascade bouquet and beautiful garland for us! Everything came out so beautifully and was perfect for our day. Thank you Jen!

I cannot believe we were ever considering not having a videographer after the amazing experience and video we got with Amanda at EightZero2. From the beginning, Amanda was super responsive and open with her thoughts on what would work best for our day (drone footage, raw footage, etc.). The day of, her process was so smooth and seamless - we felt so comfortable around her and she vibed PERFECTLY with our photo team. She got our preview video out to us before we even landed for our honeymoon, and delivered absolutely amazing results. The drone footage added the absolute coolest panoramics, and the editing was perfect (she even reached out to ask if we wanted anything changed after the fact). Would (and already have) highly recommend Amanda to anyone getting married. You will not regret it!
