About this venue

The Barn was originally built in the year 1830 in Oxford, Maine, and used to be a dairy farm and apple orchard owned by the Pratt family. In 2015, it was transformed into an idyllic wedding & special event venue. The 1830 Wedding Barn is a classic, New England gem set back off of Route 26, surrounded by Maine farmland. Inside of the barn you will see impressive hand hewn beams, original wooden floors and walls, and repurposed original antiques like the hanging apple orchard ladders, hay-claw chandelier, and the Hebron Academy milk cooler. The barn’s historic quality creates a unique experience for guests to celebrate any event. Outside of the barn you will see rolling hills, fields stretching to the edge of the woods, trees from the original apple orchard (which we still bake pies from!), and sunsets fading to the western side of the property. Guests are welcome to enjoy and explore the outside areas of the existing apple orchard and surrounding grounds.

This historic barn features 2,470 square feet of space inside, which can comfortably fit up to 130 guests. Included is a private room for brides or spouses to get ready, a live-edge bar area, a catering set-up area, a reinforced dance floor, and two restroom facilities. We also have a guest parking lot, overflow parking area, and vendor parking areas.

My husband and I had our reception at the 1830 Wedding Barn on August 3rd, 2024. Molly and Brian were kind, helpful, responsive, and helped make our day incredibly beautiful. When we first arrived, there was parking services to help guide us and our guests on where to park which made getting in with all of our vehicles a lot easier. They were accommodating, and set the barn up perfectly. I was in awe when we arrived after our ceremony to our friends and family enjoying such a gorgeous venue. My family was able to take advantage of the handicap accessibility which was wonderful to have for them. I was able to drop my decorations off 2 days before our wedding, showed Molly how I wanted them and didn’t have to lift a finger or worry about any of that at all. They helped make our entrance a surprise by opening the doors for each person being introduced into the barn. . Molly and Brian were on stand by all night, in case we needed something but were also courteous in just letting us do our own thing and dance the night away. At the end of the night, Molly and Brian packed everything up so nicely for us, so pick up was a breeze while we were able to focus on thanking our guests for coming. Our wedding day really couldn’t have been more perfect, and we have the 1830 Wedding Barn to thank for contributing such a big part of that! Thank you Molly and Brian!

We had our wedding at the 1830 Wedding Barn in September 2023. During the planning process the ownership of the barn changed hands, but we ultimately had a good experience with the new owners, Molly and Brian. They were kind, professional and helpful. The barn has an outdoor ceremony site under an apple tree as well as accommodations to have an indoor ceremony as well. We ended up having an indoor ceremony due to weather and utilized the venue's arbor (flowers not included). The inside of the barn is rustic and felt quite cozy in the evening with Edison bulb string lights twinkling. There are two newly updated restrooms attached to the barn and a live-edge wooden bar that adds to the rustic barn feel. Overall, we had a special day we will never forget at the 1830 Wedding Barn.

No, we do not allow any alcohol that is not provided and served by a licensed bar service with liability insurance.

Yes, we have two guest parking lots and a vendor parking lot. We have an on-site parking attendant for the day of your event, included in our services.

Yes, for any guests who need accommodations we do have a ramp installed at the back entrance to the barn. Guests needing to use the back entrance ramp are permitted to utilize the driveway upon arrival. We also have a wheelchair accessible restroom.

We do not operate off-season, as our barn is not winterized and would not be suitable for use during the colder months in Maine (Nov-April).

Set up, clean up, tables, chairs, day-of event coordinator, parking attendant, staff, trash and recycling removal.

Your reservation includes five hours from the start of the ceremony to the end of the reception. The bridal/spousal suite will be available two hours prior to the ceremony. Any additional time will be at an additional cost.

Deposits are non-refundable. If the event is cancelled at least 45 day prior to the scheduled event date, the remaining balance (after the deposit) will be refunded in full. If the event is cancelled within 45 days of the scheduled event date, a partial refund will be granted. If the event is cancelled within two weeks of the scheduled event date, no refund will be granted.
