The Ballroom at Union Square is a historic space located downtown Newark. Originally built in 1902 originally as a dance hall the venue was renovated and re-opened in 2016 as a concert hall. To our surprise couples began booking weddings and to date we have hosted more than 50. The venue is three stories and features the main ballroom, two full service bars, a full service kitchen, changing rooms, and onsite accommodations for the couple.

Where elegance and frugal unite. The Davis-Shai House is a historical 1861 Gothic Revival home/venue that offers classic charm that marries elegance with affordability. Our Camelot room offers large windows with natural light, a gorgeous crystal chandelier and views of the front gardens. The Fairview room has a fireplace, glass doors to join the Camelot room and doors that open to the outdoor veranda and front gardens. In-house catering or preferred caterer with a variety of menu options to select. Our menu options include plated lunches and dinner, English teas, and party packages (light hors d’oeuvres and appetizers), as well as bar service. All event rentals include: indoor tables, chairs, all table linens, centerpieces, glassware, drinks, set up and clean up, and friendly staff and volunteers. The barn was beautifully decorated (not to mention the amount of other decorations they already had on-site was a great way to save money), and the rolling hills made a stunning backdrop for our ceremony and pictures (especially the photo-bombing alpacas). They were so incredibly kind and wonderful to work with throughout the process. They made time to answer all of our questions and were incredibly accommodating by allowing us to take tours and re-visit as we started planning for our wedding. One of the biggest perks was having the venue for the entire weekend, which made setting up and enjoying our day that much easier. Everyone we've spoken to after the wedding have continued to say how beautiful the venue was and how it made for the absolute perfect wedding. I highly recommend Heartland to any bride looking for a beautiful wedding that's truly one-of-a-kind!
