With great pride, the Kenilworth Park District has preserved this community gem to be Chicago’s premier North Shore wedding and event venue. For more than a century, the Community House Garden has been host to some of the most beautiful events and weddings on the North Shore. Nestled within the grounds of the Community House, the Historic Gardens provide a timeless setting for a magical wedding ceremony or an enchanting alfresco dinner. The Garden Courtyard is framed with architectural brick columns and surrounded by a Tudor style barn building, a charming pergola area, a stately breezeway area and a social garden for cocktail hours. Located in Vernon Hills, Illinois, Loyola Lake County is home to the Cuneo family collection of fine art and furnishings, set in a beautiful 100-acre estate. Since receiving the estate, Loyola has completed a number of renovations and added a meeting and event pavilion for courses, lectures and special events. Loyola will continue its investment in the mansion.

Highland Park Country Club, one of Chicago's original and historic event venues, is being reimagined as the newest piece of the Catering by Michaels portfolio. The house, known today as Reid Hall, was completed in 1908 and the family moved in on May 5, led by J. Ogden Armour, until approximately September of 1927. Many of the house’s mantle pieces, there are 15, and the paneling of the library reading room (or former living room), were imported from Paris, Vienna and London, including the marble dining room while the main walls are of Italian marble, the central panels of each wall have been painted over the plaster to simulate actual marble. It is also reputed that the marble staircase was built with the primary purpose in mind that their daughter, Lolita Ogden Armour, would descend the curving stairway on her wedding day, which she did in 1921, to John J. Mitchell, Jr. Eventually the property was sold to Lake Forest Academy where classes began in 1948. Today, Academy grounds total approximately 170 acres.

We now have two location offerings! The Loft at Ethereal is our original venue with exposed brick walls, hardwood floors, and large windows. Your guests will be greeted with the aroma of chocolate as soon as they walk in. It has an ideal capacity of up to 80 guests (100 max). The Courthouse Square (opening September 2023), great for weddings of 100-120 guests (150 max, depending on floor plan) and is a show stopper with it’s historic architecture and modern finishes. With amenities such as a large wedding suite with lots of natural light and a separate ceremony room option, the space has been renovated with you in mind. The Courthouse Square also has an add-on option of the old Sheriff’s House, complete with original Jail Cells, it’s definitely the ultimate photo op.
