In 1910, President Taft signed the bill to establish Glacier National Park as the country’s 10th national park. Mr. Healy was given a plumbing contractor for the train depot here in St. Paul, where he met Samuel Bartlett, the architect of many of the railroad depots and Glacier National Park Lodge. Healy then commissioned Bartlett to renovate and enlarge the house. In 1914, the farm was sold to John Healy, the owner of Healy Plumbing and Heating Company of St. Paul. Mr. Healy’s company became closely tied to the Great Northern Railroad, as it provided the heating and plumbing for many of the train depots that were being built around the country at that time. The farm was named Hope Glen Farm, the name of John Healy’s mother’s maiden name of Hope, and the house settles in a Glen, thus Hope Glen.

The coordination meetings leading up to the wedding, along with the helpful client portal, kept us on track and confident that everything would be perfect. On the day of, the staff was amazingly helpful and attentive - Eryka in particular was a true godsend, keeping us organized and responsive to our every need. The Bridal Bliss decor package they offer is a must, as the venue looked absolutely beautiful and pristine. We couldn't have asked for a better experience, and feel the value we received was worth every penny. Plus a wedding night in a Tree House or Corn Crib Cottage? How can you beat that?! After touring over 10 venues in Rochester, Stillwater and the Twin Cities, we discovered that many of the representatives seemed disconnected to the venue and we were often meeting with people that were not the events coordinator. In general there was a lack of enthusiasm for the business we were prepared to give them with hosting 200 plus guests, providing a seated dinner, full bar and hiring live music. Then, we met with Amanda and Souliman to tour the Kahler Grand Hotel. From the first communication we could sense something was different and were looking forward to our meeting. From the first handshake there was a positive energy and they helped us to feel as if we were their only customer. They both gave us a tour of the various rooms available to have a ceremony and reception. They were thorough in providing details and we were not left guessing about costs. They were able to answer all of our questions without deferring to other entities. Amanda and Souliman had knowledge, autonomy and authority to make decisions without needing to cut through several levels of bureaucracy. Their policies were designed to benefit the customer and we did not feel anything was being hidden from us at any point during the planning process. We feel they put our needs first and were some of the most professional individuals we encountered throughout the venue search. We were planning a wedding with a separate ceremony and reception space, but did not want our guests to have to drive to and from several locations. With the variety of different event spaces, the Kahler Grand Hotel met those requirements as well as being connected to the hotel rooms. In addition, they are connected to the Marriot. The hotel room tour showed that their renovations are almost complete and would have been by the time of our wedding. The rooms are modern, well-appointed and we felt the accommodations would be impressive and comfortable for guests. Our food tasting exceeded our expectations as there were many food choices and quality taste. They were able to accommodate a time when our parents would be visiting form out of state. Their bar policies were fair, reasonable and they happily entertained our unusual request to procure a barrel of local whiskey. All of these things were top notch, what we were looking for and surprisingly under our budget. However, we cannot emphasize enough how Amanda and Soulaiman were the reason we chose to book our wedding at the Kahler Grand Hotel. Unfortunately, we had to cancel our wedding due to COVID-19 and it was hard to make this decision because of having such a positive experience. They were gracious, understanding and made the termination of our contract easy. We recommend the Kahler Grand Hotel as top choice for weddings! Thank you, Jessica and Chris

If you are searching for a Venue that is exquisite, chic and elegant check out Garten Markeplatz Perennial Farms! We were hired by the bride and groom to provide bartending services. This venue is filled with history, floral and landscaping that is beyond beautiful during the day and the evening hours are lit up with an amber lighting that brings the whole mood together. They were so accommodating, not only to the bride and groom but to the vendors that were hired. The owners and staff were all so personable, friendly and very helpful, they definitely went above and beyond for their clients! I hope to celebrate another event there someday!

Goodtree Farmstead gave us the most beautiful wedding. The venue was wonderful and they were so responsive and accommodating in the planning process. It’s the perfect location for a ceremony and reception, with plenty of space for guests to play, eat, and roam around throughout the day. The farm at night, with all the lights, created a great atmosphere for drinks and dancing. The backdrop of the trees, and the barn, and water made beautiful wedding pictures. I cannot recommend this venue and team enough for your event!

Forestville Winery and Event Center encompasses 17 acres of beauty and serenity. 2024 marks our sixth season hosting events and memories to guests from all over the world. Our Event building is currently undergoing major renovation and will be completed by April of 2024. The climate controlled space will feature spacious room for 150 guests in a “country elegant” décor. The building features a Bride’s suite with full bathroom and private patio. Also inside is a wine and beer service area, a catering kitchen, a food serving area, a stage for Musicians and spacious restrooms, Most Ceremonies are held outside near the Vineyard, weather permitting. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, the Ceremonies can be held under our Event tent. The Forestville property is also home to a completely renovated one room School constructed in 1897 and used as a school until 1964. The School building houses our wine and beer tasting room and also the Groom’s Suite for weddings.

Brackett's Crossing Country Club was the perfect venue for our wedding day. From the moment we first reached out, their team was quick to respond, incredibly helpful, and always available to answer any questions we had. They were friendly and professional throughout the entire planning process. On the day of, the venue was beautifully decorated and the garden space was stunning - exactly what we had envisioned for our romantic, outdoor ceremony. The getting ready suite was spacious and comfortable for our bridal party. The staff was organized and ensured every detail, big or small, was exactly as we had asked. We could not have asked for a more perfect setting to celebrate our special day. We highly recommend Brackett's Crossing Country Club to any couple looking for a gorgeous, stress-free wedding experience.

Our ol' 10 acre charm farm dates back to before MN was a state in the abstract. It's been in Brady’s family since the summer of '69 and we plan to keep it that way for generations to come. The original family that homesteaded the property came from Czechoslovakia. They built the hand-hewn log cabin on a boulder foundation and owned it for 112 years. Brady grew up in the home since '87 which has transformed over time into the gem that we have today. We kickstarted our journey at GarageTown LLC with our wedding in August, 2021. We immediately fell in love - everything from the Bridal and Groom Suites, to the outdoor Ceremony site to the Reception hall. The food isn't your average wedding food either - it's exceptional. We loved how everything is offered at such a reasonable price as well. So many required you to use all of their vendors, had strict rules about what you could and couldn't do, or required a lot of work and decor to create a beautiful space. The other venues made us feel like we'd have a cookie cutter wedding with no option to make it our own. Then we found Next Chapter! It's s a gorgeous venue, the staff are wonderful, and we were able to have the wedding and reception that we wanted.

Words cannot describe what an amazing experience it was to get married at Mendakota Country Club! Adena and the entire Mendakota staff made everything run seamlessly, and I received so many compliments after our wedding about how kind and helpful all of the staff members were. Adena was amazing throughout the planning process. As a bride without a wedding planner and planning from out of state, I had endless questions that Adena answered quickly and graciously. The country club was absolutely gorgeous, and it was so nice to get ready, have the ceremony, and host the reception all in one place. Many venues require additional planning from outside catering, so hiring Mendakota for all food and alcohol made the process so much less stressful. Adena helped us set up sunset photos after dinner, and those are some of my favorite photos that we took out on the golf course. I am so grateful for Mendakota's hospitality to help make our wedding day so beautiful and memorable and would recommend the venue to anyone planning a wedding!

We had our September wedding aboard the Magnolia Blossom. Captain Dan and his crew were absolutely amazing to work with and went above and beyond. Tamara even helped me bustle my dress when we couldn't figure out how to do it. There are lots of areas for photos, on the river, the dock, in the marina, and at the park, just a short walk from the Marina. We had a lot of compliments from our guests on how unique our wedding was, oh, and the food was amazing as well! I would 100% recommend Magnolia Blossom Cruises to any couple looking for a riverboat cruise wedding!

The North Garden Theater was such a great place to host our wedding reception and we were so happy to work with Ryan and Tina. Leading up to our event Ryan and Tina were there to help in any way and were attentive to our needs. We felt like we were able to make the day our own without paying an arm and a leg. We absolutely enjoy working weddings and events at the Hyland Hills location! One of our favorite things is the kitchen space, which allows us to accommodate any dinner style. The layout facilitates the overall day of execution of every event. The ballroom is spacious and oversees a beautiful hill, this space does not need too many decorations! The large windows and natural view are wonderful! We love working at all Three River Park District locations and Suzanne at Hyland Hills is amazing, we love working with her and her team.

A’bulae is wonderful! My husband and I do not live in town so we chose the Essentials Package with A’bulae so it would make the planning easier. It really did help everything go smoothly! First, the A’bulae venue is gorgeous and perfect for any weather condition (which helped me not to feel stressed!). The people working at A’bulae respond to emails promptly and professionally. They also help lay out a day-of schedule and handle a lot of the planning. They reach out and meet with the couple several times throughout the wedding planning process to put everyone at ease. Another plus is their in-house decorations, linens, chairs, and tables they set up for weddings. They have several options you can choose from. Further, while A’bulae does require you to use their in-house catering, the food is amazing. All the apps and entrees we chose were delicious. Above all, my favorite part about A’bulae is how they allow you to personalize your wedding as you see fit. My husband and I made our own monogram and cake topper, we made a slideshow to scroll during the social hour, my husband played piano, and we did an about-the-couple trivia game on the screens. It was really fun and made the event special and unique to us. A’bulae worked really hard to make this happen. Even when there was a slight technology issue, they called someone to figure out the solution remotely, and they had the problem solved very quickly. The team worked hard to make everything seamless. Overall, we had an amazing experience, and I’m really glad we chose A’bulae.

Beautiful space and the staff is phenomenal! Our venue manager, Victoria M., was a dream to work with - she made everything a breeze! Our ceremony involved the transportation and set up of a large amount of personal items/furniture and Victoria found a way to make it happen in the time needed, even on a holiday weekend. She saved the day when the DJ showed up unprepared, and gracefully took charge of a stressful situation. She also helped document the day, which was a surprise to me and it was so lovely to receive her photos and videos the next day. The actual ceremony was a blur so it was truly a gift to be able to experience it through her eyes. This venue is an elegant and historic space, very affordable especially in today's economic climate, they were one of the only venues that was willing to let us do ceremony only as we had an offsite reception, and the staff is just fantastic! I highly recommend!

We recently had our ceremony and reception at the Summit Manor House. It was a marvelous event. During our first meeting with David McLaughlin, the coordinator, he said his goal was to have us feel like guests at our own wedding. I will say he achieved that goal. The planning for the ceremony and reception were very easy, as David responded quickly to each email and call. He is very organized and had all the answers. I love the low-stress planning as Summit manor takes care of all linen, tables and seasonal flowers. He also was very flexible with some unique requests I had for our reception. I was initially worried about not being able to taste the food before the reception. David assured me the food was good. I have to say the food was outstanding. All of our guests were impressed with the food and many people went back for seconds. The Buttercream cake was great. David was there the day of the ceremony and reception and coordinated everything well. I highly recommend The Summit Manor for special events. It is a classic location for an elegant event.

The Commodore Bar & Restaurant was a mixed bag for our wedding day. While the space was beautiful and the food was amazing, their communication style was lacking and inconsistent throughout the planning process. Our coordinator changed after we signed the contract and no one communicated that with us. I was trying to plan the details and never had any luck with responses. We finally called around to other properties they managed to track down someone who could help. When we finally got introduced to our new contact we were able to finalize our logistics for the day. I would recommend anyone utilizing this venue to have a clear communication plan in place with the staff and confirm the next steps and process to make sure you don't run into any unnecessary stress like I had. The bartenders and day-of coordinator were great, and the venue itself was the star of the show, with lots of compliments from our guests on the beautiful flow and setup. Overall, the Commodore provided a memorable wedding experience, despite some frustrations with the communication throughout the planning process.

We enjoyed an amazing wedding experience using the dazzling Olympic Hills golf club venue for our 120 guest wedding in July. The venue itself is exceptionally well-maintained and provided a beautiful backdrop to our happy guests. We enjoyed our wedding service on their outside private deck with customized lighting and organized, comfortable seating. We enjoyed a sumptuous and flavorful Italian buffet, and the Olympic Hills team, including event planner Emily, gave us and our guests superior service. Emily is particularly thorough, extremely well organized, communicative and proactive. Their staff were able to handle specific dietary restrictions and allowed us to bring in commercially licensed appetizers and desserts, and wine of our choice (with acork fee), all providing money saving opportunities on our very small and stringent budget. Despite the fact that we had a very tight budget which they helped us accommodate, I cannot express how thankful I am for Emily, especially being able to coordinate with our vendors to ensure we had a memorable and fabulous celebration. To have access to this kind of glamorous venue without being a club member was invaluable, and we were treated with kindness and respect. I highly recommend for any event and especially a wedding, your guest will feel privileged and happy and as a bride or groom, you will be so relieved at the ease and beauty.

Green Acres is an award winning Wedding & Event Venue conveniently located just 15 minutes southwest of Minneapolis. This lovingly restored historic barn is turnkey with all the modern amenities that include heat, air conditioning, handicap accessible elevator, surround sound, AV, wireless microphone, and theatrical lighting inside and out. Rain or shine, we can accommodate an indoor or outdoor ceremony and a seated reception indoors for up to 225 guests all year round. We have a lovely brick patio, outdoor lounge seating, a s'mores cauldron and a four sided fire pit for those perfect Minnesota evenings. Inside the barn, we have two levels: one for your cocktail/social hour and our upper/main level where the party happens! Green Acres is rustic elegance with stunning chandeliers, soaring Gothic Arch roof of aged timbers, and charming decor. Everything is wheelchair accessible because no one should miss out on the fun!
