“Lucas was recommended to us as "the DJ you want to hire if you want someone you can trust to keep your dance floor full and to read the crowd to keep your party going," which immediately appealed to us. We live in Brooklyn, and got married in the Catskills, and found out that Lucas also DJs regularly at some of our favorite spots in Brooklyn. From our first contact with Lucas, he was responsive, kind, interested in getting to know us and our taste, and super professional. We connected on a personal level as well as on a musical one. Now, having had Lucas DJ our wedding and supply all of the audio equipment, we can't recommend him highly enough. The audio for our ceremony and speeches worked without a hitch (he also helped to professionally feed our ceremony audio/music into our livestream setup), Lucas knew exactly the right moments to take cues for music, and when the dance party began, he played great music that totally matched our vibe and tastes, and as promised, he kept the dance floor full all night (no small feat, especially because we downsized our wedding to 60 guests). In addition to being an excellent DJ, he's also a great guy to be around, and on your wedding day, it's really nice to feel like you are surrounded by people you want to spend time with. “When I set out planning my wedding there was 0 doubt in my mind I wanted Sean Shipper and the Party Express DJs to be my disc jockey and MC for the night. Working with Sean prior to the wedding day is easy. I wasn’t over sold products or capabilities. He made suggestions he knew would work in my venue and even persuaded me to leave some options out because he knew additional lighting just wouldn’t work at my venue and time of the year I was getting married. We had a consultation where we discussed the wedding planner and he sent us an email the next day with things we may want to take a second look at or items we missed in the planner. The day of the wedding Sean arrived early greeted me and went right to work setting up. He was done in plenty of time for my ceremony and helped keep us on time. I originally told him I don’t think anyone will dance, and i made sure to give him plenty of space to choose songs he thought may work by reading the crowd. That decision to let him do his job without my hand cuffing him made a huge difference. People danced all night long to his music choices. When I went to tip him at the end of the night he tried to decline fat chance of that happening Sean… he earned every cent of his tip. My wife and I talked there’s a reason we choose Sean and our other vendors for our day. Professional vendors charging professional rates took care of any issues that may have happened without us knowing. Our entire day ran smoothly with no issues, why because of professionals like Sean. “Kelton from Marquee Artists was amazing! He was a communicative and active participant in the planning of the music and the announcements at my wedding on March 9. Kelton provided an extensive list of potential songs to play in a shared Google Document with columns for “play” and “do not play” which was great. Also, I was impressed that he attended the walk through of the Whittemore House a month prior to the wedding, asking pertinent questions of the Whittemore staff about the placement of various things and how best to provide the sound amplification that would be needed. He provided wireless mics which worked really well for the toasts. Kelton did a great job as the master of ceremony and his mix of the selected music was fun and fabulous. He had the crowd dancing, rocking to the music. Many of the older folks told me that they hadn’t danced in years but were having lots of fun doing so then. They were excellent at communicating and very quick at replying. They give you a user-friendly portal to customize your wedding music from when guests sit down before the wedding to the last song. They do a final run-through a week before the wedding to ensure everything is exactly how you want. They’re so friendly and accommodating the whole way through. Now, on our DJ & MC specifically... Ernest and Marlowe were rock stars. Amos Rose is a world traveling multi-instrumentalist who also sings and plays lead Telecaster guitar, and was recently featured by Jazz at Lincoln Center. Brendan O’Grady is an in-demand session musician and fixture on the greater New York scene since his roots growing up in Yonkers. Drummer Jon Wert is a sought-after musician, collaborating with a wide variety of artists in the jazz, rock, pop production shows and songwriter worlds.

“We booked Mama Juke for our 9/24/2022 wedding and they did not disappoint. I can’t say I wasn’t nervous, as they didn’t have any reviews posted yet, but Jon was very helpful in addressing all our concerns and they kept our guests entertained and dancing all night long! They learned our first dance song- Golden Hour by Kacey Musgraves and put their own flair to it, which we loved. They are such a fun mix of rock, jazz, bluegrass, country and played a good mix of songs for all ages. I would also recommend listening to some of their original songs and including them in your day, my husband and I were so happy we did. :) I want to have another wedding just so we can have them play again!”

“I’m so happy that we hired Chris and Matt for our wedding. They were able to play live music for the ceremony, cocktail hour, first dance and parent dances and DJ for the reception.
