The upstairs balcony offers a birds-eye view of the dance floor and activity below.  Our beautiful, original copper bar is the centerpiece of the downstairs, boasting a hand painted glass window from 1915. When reserving your special day, we aim to make the process as easy as possible and accommodate your needs at every step in the process. In general, our space can accommodate up to 300 guests, and we have multiple spaces in order to make your day special and unique. We allow you to work with any vendors you choose as long as they are licensed and insured, however we are happy to share our favorites with you.

Located in the heart of Metairie, The Alexander Room and Terrace is truly a hidden gem. The Alexander Room was conceived and built by the International Brotherhood of Electricians in 1984. The intent was for The Alexander Room to be a contender among Metairie’s event venues. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the room was never marketed to the general public. In 2014, Troy and Cindy Timphony of Hobnobber Café were approached with the idea of taking over the catering, management and marketing of the Alexander Room. Over the course of the next few years improvements were made, menus prepared and website and social media added to bring you the polished jewel that is The Alexander Room and Terrace.

Shane and I gave up our lives in the big city of Houston, both quit our jobs to pursue a life that was more in alignment with where our hearts are. The gallery is accessible through a discreet entrance on the ground floor at 4523 Magazine Street. Upon entering the building, visitors proceed up the main staircase, which opens directly into the second-floor gallery. With each step up the cozy stairway, the impressive scale of the large, open gallery space above slowly comes into view.

Laurenia is housed inside the Pythian Temple which has a history of remarkable local significance. Smith Wendell (S.W.) Green, then one of the most prominent African-American businessmen in New Orleans, commissioned the construction of the Pythian Temple in 1908. The Pythian immediately played an integral part in New Orleans early civil rights movement. It towered over the surrounding neighborhood and became a center of the African American community. Since its inception, The Pythian Temple hosted popular performing groups and African-American carnival balls. The venue led to the formation of the Zulu Parading Club and even housed a popular rooftop bar known as “Piron’s Garden of Joy.” It is said that a young Louis Armstrong first played at The Pythian Temple. Laurenia is named after Smith Wendell (S.W.) Green’s wife. She assisted him in running his business, was a member of the NAACP, and was active in the early struggle for civil rights.

The Terminal, located at Lakefront Airport, is a New Orleans Tradition, dating back to the 1930's. At the time of its grand opening it was considered an architectural masterpiece.
