Emie's Photo LLC

  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $2,600
  • Serves Takoma Park, MD

Hey! We’re Emie's Photo LLC, a team of two documentary wedding photographers based in Lynchburg, VA. We are passionate about capturing the unique moments and emotions of your special day, in a way that tells the story of your love and commitment. Our goal is to provide you with personalized and timeless images that you'll treasure for years to come.

Awarded Best of Zola
I hired Emie about a year and half ago for some engagement photos, and I have since booked her for 2 other shoots not including our wedding. After our first round of shots, John and I (who are not camera people) felt immediately comfortable, and we left thinking that Emie and Mike were our new best friends. They are the type of people who you just WANT to have around! Outside of personality, her professionalism and attention to detail is UNMATCHED. She has always gone above and beyond our expectations of her, and always has a fun surprised tucked under her sleeve. She will take my inspiration and make it into my reality. We love her so much, that we could not, not have her at our wedding in Michigan. She is worth every penny. Aside from being our photographer, she has even given me great advice for wedding logistics. I could say 1,000 different great things about Emie, and truly mean it. If you haven't decided on a photographer yet...I would highly, highly consider giving Emie's a call.

Ivy & Quartz Photography

  • Serves Takoma Park, MD

Hi! I'm Nina and I run Ivy & Quartz photography! I shot my first wedding in 2013, but my journey with photography began long before that. When I was about 10 years old, my dad gave me a camera and I quickly became obsessed. My intrigue continued to grow over the years and I went on to earn my BA in Studio Art , Photography, from the University of Virginia. After graduating I worked as a portrait photographer and decided to pursue and earn my MFA in Imaging Arts from the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Awarded Best of Zola
Nina was an incredible part of our May 2023 wedding. She took amazing photos before the wedding, during the ceremony and lots of fun candid dance floor photos during the reception. She listened to our vision of what we were interested in and the photos we received were incredible! Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a photographer for their wedding.

Cesario Mendez Photography

5.0

  • Photojournalistic style
  • Serves Takoma Park, MD

When I am not behind the camera or editing photos, I enjoy short Uber rides to bottomless brunch on the weekends; right now mimosas and I kinda have a thing going on! I have a special relationship with bourbon and FIRMLY believe in putting food on the grill during late afternoons should be the norm. I am blessed to be married to the happiest person on earth (I am so serious), who just happens to double as my favorite person. She keeps me grounded and never fails to remind me how great she is.

Awarded Best of Zola
Cesario was everything we could have hoped for and more! We first met over video chat to discuss what we were looking for in a photographer and chatted to get to know each other a bit. It only took a few minutes to realize that Cesario was perfect, very easy-going, had plenty of great ideas, and fun! We met for engagement photos several months before our wedding for which he did an excellent job! He provided us with the pictures much sooner than expected! Several months later, we got in touch as the wedding date was drawing closer to go over the details. Once the day arrived, he guided us through our first look pictures, some amazing portraits, and then captured the essence of the wedding and reception with ease. Wedding pictures were also delivered earlier than expected. 10/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Chris Ferenzi Photography

5.0

  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $3,600
  • Serves Takoma Park, MD

Hey, I'm Chris! Dog-lover, latte-lover, gym-lover, and cookie-lover I justify the cookies by going to the gym. One of my life goals is to have enough dogs (dachshunds and corgis) to create a sled team. I will use this sled team to pull myself around while shooting your wedding. I’m joking, unless you really want me to, in which maybe WE should get married.

Awarded Best of Zola
My husband Will and I got married in October and we planned everything together. Hands down, the easiest and best decision we made (besides going through with the marriage ;-)) was picking Chris as our photographer. He was so easy to work with from the get go. We set up a brief meeting, shared our vision (we wanted a "photojournalist approach"), and mapped out a schedule of events. Anything that we did not think to ask, he made sure to bring up and help make our vision more complete. Chris was excellent at capturing all of the tiny moments of the night without being in anyone's way. The pictures that he captured were absolutely STUNNING--the perfect amount of sentimental moments captured in beautiful lighting and silly off the cuff moments that captured the essence of each and every guest. We would work again with Chris in a heartbeat and friends have already requested his contact information for their ceremony. As an added bonus, because we did not end up using Chris for all of the allotted time, he offered to do a separate photoshoot whenever we would like. It's those little attention to details and customer service which make Chris stand out from the rest. Overall, Chris was kind, professional, quick to edit and publish photos, and an amazing photographer. You would not do wrong by hiring him!

Darcy Troutman Photography

  • Photojournalistic style

  • Serves Takoma Park, MD

Are you tired of scrolling through wedding websites full of photos of shoes/calligraphy/earrings/etc. and wondering where the people are? Do you love moments more than things? If yes, you're in the right place. Forget about the table settings, instead embrace spontaneous joy and honest, natural moments.

Darcy was a pleasure to work with! She was so accommodating and informative throughout the process. I did a lot of our wedding planning at the last minute and I have never had professional photos done so I wasn't exactly sure what to expect but Darcy walked me through the wedding day and made sure that we had a clear plan. She was also very patient with all of my last minute changes to the schedule. I originally reached out to Darcy because I loved the style of her photos and I was incredibly pleased when I saw our photos. I would definitely reach out to her for future events/family photos!

I am a Documentary Wedding Photographer who captures Candid and Natural moments! I like to blend right into your day and clients describe me as calm, cool and personable. I take a variety of photos but make sure I’m not noticed while I move around. I see my purpose as preserving moments. My favorite feedback is that I captured moments that the couple didn’t see. Most importantly, I’m here for you! That might mean directing your family and keeping everything under control. My goal is to put you at ease and make you feel comfortable throughout the whole process.

Awarded Best of Zola
Konrad was incredibly pleasant and easy to work with from start to finish. He was communicative and followed up as we got closer to the wedding. The day of he helped put both of us at ease, helping both my husband and I feel comfortable and get photos that felt like us. Truly made something that felt stressful into something fun and relaxing. Initially when I got the photos from all my friends, I was asking myself why we hired a professional photographer, but once I saw the pictures Konrad sent over, I did not ask myself that question again. I have never loved myself in so many pictures, he really captured the two of us and the entire day in a way that I couldn’t have imagined.

Bring on all the joy, laughter, tears, letting go and holding close. I want to capture these connections, so that you can have photos to hold in your hand and remind you what it felt like the day you were married. You deserve to celebrate without feeling as if you are on a daylong photoshoot — I will help you to really live your wedding day. Let's live your life celebrations and let go of “supposed to do.” If you find yourself craving a wedding day experience that is more enjoying the day and less about all day posing, you are in the right spot.

Hiring Kelly was absolutely one of the best decisions that we made for our wedding and we can’t recommend her highly enough. She spent so much time getting to know us before the wedding, and our photos very clearly reflect her attention to capturing what was important to us. We really wanted to see the joy and breadth of emotions of the day and wanted photos that reflected our wedding as vibrant and loving, and that shines through in every photo!! Kelly is also so personable and brings such a wonderful energy to all parts of the process which made us feel so comfortable and so happy to have her with us! In addition to creating a photography schedule that was invaluable and that we shaped the rest of the schedule around, she made sure to note people’s accessibility needs and to work with us closely on comfort for everyone as we had a lot of access needs. She answered every question we had happily and was just such a wonderful part of our day!! She also did our engagement photos at Great Falls and they turned out just so gorgeous. I had a lot of anxiety about how I would feel about the photos as a plus size bride and Kelly listened to my concerns and made me so comfortable and I’m so so thrilled with the photos and feel gorgeous in all of them, which I'm very grateful for!

From a young age, she discovered the power of storytelling through her mom's scrap books and National Geographic magazines, sparking an undying fascination with capturing the essence of life's most profound moments. She studies under renowned photographers, soaking up their wisdom and honing her own unique style; authentic photojournalism.

Awarded Best of Zola
Choosing Katelyn as our wedding photographer was undoubtedly one of the easiest and best decisions we made for our wedding day! We had the pleasure of seeing her work firsthand at a friend's wedding, with who knows how many cameras strapped on! Seeing her attention to detail firsthand and the beautiful quality of our friends photos, she was first on our list for a consultation. From our first call, Katelyn embraced our vision with enthusiasm and professionalism. We knew we wanted a documentary-style photographer with the option of film photos (we loved that Katelyn includes these already) who could capture the genuine emotions and candid moments of our wedding with our lively group, and Katelyn delivered! Despite our initial nervousness about being in front of the camera, Katelyn made us feel incredibly comfortable. Having an engagement shoot beforehand was a great practice run, she has an incredible talent for putting people at ease, and this truly shines through in the photos. We have never felt so photogenic! Our album turned out better than we could have dreamed up. It is truly reflective of us and our day. Complete with details of my treasured Kirkland sweatpants on the way to our venue contrasted with my dress glam Katelyn’s commitment to us was truly exceptional as she had a family loss shortly before our wedding. It would have been more than understandable for her to need more time away or to find us a replacement. Despite this, Katelyn remained fully committed to capturing our day and we are so so grateful. Her dedication and professionalism during such a difficult time speaks volumes about her passion for her work and for her clients. Katelyn is a true artist and an amazing person. Her work exceeded all our expectations, and we feel so fortunate to have had her as part of our wedding team. The only question we have is how early is too early for a vow renewal so we can hire her again!

Lotus Photography

My passion for photography grew when my daughter, Lotus, was born in 2004 and I began documenting her childhood with an eye toward catching each irreplaceable moment. Soon, friends and then friends of friends asked me to photograph their children and families. Before long, I was documenting the lives and milestones of people all over the DMV area. I realized how happy I was connecting with people and capturing special moments, and so I launched Lotus Photography in 2012 - named for my first muse. I fell in love with capturing weddings in 2017 and I have been hooked ever since!

We had a great experience working with Georgette! She was easy to work with and was communicative, both in the lead up to and after our ceremony. We loved the photos she took of our elopement ceremony; we will be looking back on them with family and friends for years to come!

The best way to tell honest stories is through keen observation. How do I know? Because I spent 15 years as a journalist before becoming a wedding photographer. By paying attention to the ways you interact with your loved ones, I capture the in-between moments that will, one day, be significant. And using a trained eye and subtle approach, I do so unobtrusively.

Awarded Best of Zola
My wife and I were searching for a photographer who could capture our wedding as it really was, from the intimate moments to the wild dance floor, and Natasha's documentary-style fit our needs exactly! She listened carefully to what we wanted - minimal posed pictures, non-traditional "first look", lots of candids, etc - and she more than delivered. We had 130 guest count and Natasha covered basically every inch of our wedding day, no need or want for a second shooter. She was everywhere and so stealthy that we didn't realize she was so close to us the whole night until we got our pictures back. Our ceremony was outside and dinner/dancing were inside, and regardless of the lighting, the pictures turned out perfectly, she was even able to capture non-blurry pictures of guests jamming on a packed dance floor! She was a pleasure to work with, the instructions of her process were easy to follow from start to finish, and had a lot of examples to look through which gave us a good idea of what we were getting. We especially appreciated that she sent us a few pictures the morning after our wedding as a sneak peek, very nice touch. She's genuinely kind and calm which helped us remain present during our wedding day. Everyone who has seen our photos are amazed by the quality and we are too. We're thrilled we picked Natasha and highly recommend her!

You're going to have the best day ever and we'll be there to photograph every laugh, tear, and moment you wish you could remember forever! Our couples come from every walk of life and we love that they know they can be who they are with us! Comfort is key when it comes to choosing your Wedding Photographer because we're capturing your memories on the biggest days of your life. On the day of your wedding, you’ll say "I do", blink and it’ll be over. It's ok though! You’ll sleep easy knowing you'll always be able to look back at your Wedding Day in bright, beautiful color when you receive your wedding photos in about 4-6 weeks.

Nicole and Jose of Bokeh Lane Photography are simply wonderful! So energetic and creative! They shot our engagement session and are slated to shoot our wedding whenever COVID allows for that. We wanted a photographer that has a great eye for candid shots and heard about these two from a friend who had their engagement and wedding shot by them. My friend’s pictures were beautiful, so I reached out to Nicole and Jose. They helped us with every step of the process, even with picking out outfits before the shoot. They’re kind and professional and just so easy to work with. I am not used to being in front of the camera, whereas my fiance is a natural in front of the camera. I told them that up front and they made sure to make me feel comfortable while just letting my fiance be himself, and the pictures came out so great! They are highly responsive as far as communication goes and prices are extremely reasonable for such high quality work. Highly highly recommend!

Hi - I'm Danielle. A wife. A mom to three wonderful children. A wedding photographer. I've been shooting weddings since 2010. 300++ weddings and counting. I love working with natural light, real moments, and images with energy and emotion. I would love the privilege of hearing your love story. If you'd like to inquire, please email or call to set up an interview.!

We booked Danielle for our engagement session and April 2024 wedding. Me and my husband aren't confident in front of the camera and at our engagement session, Danielle made us feel so comfortable. At that moment, we knew we made the right choice for our wedding day! Danielle was an integral part of our planning process - happily scheduling calls as needed to help us develop our timeline, narrow down locations for photos, and even providing us with a detailed timeline and checklists of things to bring for photos. On our wedding day, Danielle ensured that we remained on schedule with our timeline, capturing all the photos that we wanted and needed in a short timeframe. She made an effort to learn the names of our wedding party and family and provided everyone with guidance and feedback in a fun and engaging manner to make sure every photo turned out great! We recently got our sneak peeks back and were so thrilled with how they turned out. We're looking forward to seeing our full gallery soon! Danielle also provided a second shooter at no additional cost to us and he was absolutely fantastic as well! Chris handled getting ready photos of my husband and his groomsmen, making sure they stuck to the timeline, and getting them to where they needed to be - the hardest job of all. He was great to work with and captured beautiful images from different perspectives and angles that we wouldn't have gotten with just one photographer.

Growing up with a passion for skateboarding provided me with a creative view of the world around me. I've been taking pictures professionally for about 8 years and I'm inspired by the music I listen to and those that I love being creative with. I have also photographed many different subjects, scenes, and moments! There's a picture around every corner.

Steve photographed our wedding, which was pretty small by most standards. He arrived on time, prepared, and he was very easy to work with both before and during the event. His photographs turned out great, and we can definitely say he gave us a good value for what we paid. We would gladly recommend him to any of our friends for their photography work. Thanks again Steve
