Hi! I’m Trevaughn Smith (he/him), a published queer wedding & portrait photographer based in the DC, Maryland & Virginia area. I’ve made it my life’s work to become a visual storyteller for couples who value authenticity, individuality, and non-traditional love stories. I’m great at blending into the background and capturing honest, unscripted moments – the kind that reflect your real connection. Whether you’re exchanging vows on an LGBTQ+-owned farm, having a small gathering at a Michelin-star restaurant, or celebrating love at the Maryland Renaissance Festival, I’ll be there to document your day as it naturally unfolds.
My style is laid-back, colorful, and focused on what makes your story unique. I don’t believe in stiff poses – just real emotion, candid joy, and the little moments that matter most. Trevaughn Smith Photography goes above and beyond
From the moment we met Trevaughn, we knew he was the perfect person to bring all of the pieces of our wedding vision together. We’ve had the opportunity to plan and shoot with him before as he helped my husband plan a surprise proposal shoot at DC’s Minetta Tavern. From his unmatched skill behind the camera to his kind and thoughtful direction that highlighted our family and friends so beautifully, he exceeded all of our expectations and left a wonderful lasting impression on everyone he captured. His final product highlighted our casual elopement dinner with such elegance and care, and we’re quick to recommend him to our newly engaged friends without a second thought!

Tre is such a fantastic photographer. He is so creative and his team is so easy to work with - making sure that we look our best in our photos and that our creative vision is executed. They also came to the table with amazing ideas on top of the ideas that I had as well and it was such a collaborative experience!! I cannot wait to see the rest of our wedding photos (he turned around sneak peek pics in the FASTEST amount of time) and I know that he's going do an amazing job - same with what he did with our engagement photos. Tre quite literally jumped, sprinted and laid on the ground to get the best pictures possible and I'm so excited to see what they look like. I would recommend anyone looking for a fantastic photographer to work with Tre and his team!!!
Wedding Review
If I could rate Tre higher I would. We hired him for our wedding and we loved him. He was honest and direct, not to mention he knew how to have fun! He adapted to all the craziness we threw at him (cat, moon bounce, basketball, etc.). 10/10, stellar, amazing, (give me a second as I look in the thesaurus to find more synonyms). Definitely looking forward to hiring him for more events in the future!
