Petals And Stems Florist

5.0

Suffern, NY
  • Starts at $4,000

Petals and Stems Florist is a floral design company based in Suffern, New York. This family-owned business is proud to serve couples and their loved ones throughout the Mahwah, Ramsey, Suffern, and Tri-State areas. Whether you’re looking for elegant aisle decor, delicate flower crowns, grand bouquets, or enchanting altar designs, each piece will be crafted using fresh and vibrant flowers.

I found Lenny and the team at Petals and Stems from a basic Zola search. There wasn't much material to go off of on their website, but after speaking with Lenny, I knew he was the right guy for the job. He listened to all of my requests for specific flowers/colors for the bouquets and created some beautiful greenery for the centerpieces at the reception. Highly recommend for southern NY/northern NJ brides!

Cullen Creations

4.9

Stamford, NY

Cullen Creations is a wedding design company in The Catskills of New York. They are able to cover every aspect of your wedding vision from florals, to rentals, to set up and break down and more. The team at Cullen Creations only take on a limited amount of events per year to helps ensure each of their clients get the attention and care they deserve.

I ordered Cullen Creations services for flowers and decor set up and rental of some of their inventory items. I spoke with Heather once or twice and emailed with her before the weekend of the wedding. As I continued to adjust my order over time she provided updated spreadsheet showing new quote. It was very helpful so I could meet my minimum and our personal wedding budget. She also provided pictures of items that I was seeking which was helpful to make decision on my final order. Heather and her husband arrived the day before to drop off games, candy glass containers and charger plates. We briefly met day before wedding to confirm the set up of ceiling items. She had my ideas set up on the laptop so we could easily finalize details in person on location. They put together the massive cart and put the fabric to layover the top I provided, so we could decorate it as a candy station, and they also put up the ceiling decor I provided which included 3 large disco balls and long streamers. They previously spoke with the venue to ensure their equipment used for set up would be acceptable to use in the venue. They worked diligently and made my colorful disco wedding dream come true. They also provided flowers for the wedding include wrist corsages for the mother of bride and groom, boutonnieres, and bouquets for the wedding party. I asked for colorful and tropical and the outcome was glorious! It was a beautiful splash of color against the lake backdrop. Heather brought all the flowers the morning of to the girls get ready room and had them clearly labeled and explained how to hold/ wear the items. They also set up all the ceremony flowers on the pillars I rented from them. It came out stunning! The flowers and pillars were easily moved to the reception later on for decor in the venue space. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Cullen Creations.

Working with Amy and Elegant Floral Creations was a dream. From our first call, we could tell that Amy understood us, cared about our vision for our big day, and had so many good ideas and plans for how to execute them, even with our highly unconventional venue. With so many things to manage and figure out and decide on in our wedding process, Amy was the first and best decision we made. Working with Amy set the standard for how we wanted to feel about all of our vendors, and at the lowest points where we felt completely overwhelmed with planning, Amy made us feel like everything was going to be perfect and beautiful. Even though I felt completely confident in her ability to pull it off, I was still floored by how gorgeous everything looked in the end, and we got so many compliments about the flowers and the installations she made. Amy and EFC were worth every penny and I cannot recommend them highly enough.

      VDL Brothers

      5.0

      Rhinebeck, NY
      • Starts at $3,500

VDL Brothers began as a farm with a single grower dreaming of providing locally grown, beautiful flowers. Now, we are bringing the produce of that farm to couples who are looking for fresh florals designed with a romantic, whimsical touch. We love to create soft, flowing bouquets, nature inspired arches, creative statement pieces and installations. We give each of our couples a high level of attention to detail, and dedicate our time to two events per month.

My wedding was last month and I am so BEYOND happy I chose VDL Brothers as my florist. Sonja is not only extremely talented but also attentive, reliable, supportive, and consistently went above and beyond to make my wedding flowers and decor special and personalized. My bouquet made me cry (happy tears) when I saw it. As did the boutonnières, wedding party flowers, and decor. Each bridesmaid bouquet, boutonniere and bud vase was unique and intricately done. She really listens to what you want and makes it a reality. During the early planning process she made a personalized event plan complete with my and her own inspiration pics, and kept it updated whenever I needed to make a change. Perhaps the highlight was the Bud Vase wall that she constructed from scratch for my seating chart. It was beyond what you see on Instagram and Pinterest. She also provided a chuppah which was more sturdy and beautiful than any I found elsewhere, and was hands on with managing the set up and take down of all the decor. I was worried about “spending so much on flowers” but honestly the flowers/decor/experience working with her was easily one of my favorite parts of my wedding, and worth every penny and then some. Her pricing is a steal for what you get with her.

      TK Floral Designs LLC

      5.0

      Modena, NY
      • Starts at $10,000

I am Tyler Keeno, the Head Designer of TK Floral Designs LLC. I run this wonderful company with my partner Randy Nogueira, and have been involved in this industry for 6 years now. I cannot picture life doing anything but designing beautiful wedding flowers! My love story with flowers is very simple - sometimes it just happens that way in our lives. There is nothing more meaningful, fulfilling, or rewarding in this life than bringing beautiful floral art to a wedding to transform that special day. I can’t wait to begin this journey with you.

I don't even know where to begin!! From start to finish, working with TK Floral for our wedding day was an absolute pleasure. At the beginning of wedding planning, I had a vision; romantic, enchanted, fairytale, but I couldn't put my vision together. After speaking to Tyler for the first time, he completely understood my thoughts and listened to every detail. He made me feel so comfortable and I trusted his vision. I was thrilled to see his initial proposal and all of the different ideas he had come up with after a 15 minute consultation call. Throughout the wedding planning process, whenever I called with a different idea, Tyler was all ears and ready to build something new. The day of our wedding was absolutely flawless, our guests still rave over how stunning our flowers were. The night truly looked like we were dancing through an enchanted fairytale. Working with Tyler and Randy was a dream, 5 stars isn't a high enough rating to match how incredible they are!

Jen is incredible and worth every penny! My husband and I weren't very sure about how we wanted our wedding florals to look. We also didn't want to spend thousands of dollars on flowers that would only last a day. We stumbled upon wood flowers and discovered Wood and Word Blooms! Working with Jen was wonderful and seamless. She helps you every step of the way to figure out what you would like. The DIY class was so much fun, and we were able to build all of our centerpieces, boutonnières, and bouquets. Jen also built my cascade bouquet and beautiful garland for us! Everything came out so beautifully and was perfect for our day. Thank you Jen!

First of all - the end product was just beautiful. Everything from the bridal bouquet to the ceremony flowers to the table styling was exquisite and super unique. Shannon did a great job incorporating my favorite color (yellow) and a whimsical, organic wildness into the design exactly as I had hoped. From our first meeting to the written proposal, Shannon interpreted my thoughts and ideas exactly. I was so impressed that she took my ramblings and half ideas and pulled them together into what I was seeing in my head. Shannon’s GORGEOUS color palette informed the entire wedding design and gave me a jumping off point for invitations, bridesmaid dresses, other decor, etc. Unfortunately, the process of working with Shannon was a bit challenging. She struggled with nailing down details: incorrect number of tables, inconsistent accounting of candles/bud vases, etc. It took a number of incorrect proposal drafts until we got it right - just weeks before the wedding. We were honestly quite disappointed by Shannon’s flexibility and communication. She self-describes as being highly collaborative, but that was not our experience. First, as beer nerds, having hops in the design was super important to us, and while she flagged early on it could be an issue to source real ones, we discussed using fake. While we all agreed that she shouldn’t use fake hops if they looked bad, we were sad to see on the day of that they didn’t make it into the design. It would have been nice to have heard a heads up from her that she didn’t plan to use them - even if it was just a brief mention on the day-of. Second, when our cake plans fell through at the last minute, we asked Shannon if she could possibly supply a few flowers for our small 6” cutting cake. She told us she would try, but later we heard from the bakery that she had given them a flat no. She never communicated her decision to us. Thankfully, the bakery pulled something together for us (shout out to Zest Pastry!). Third, the Monday before the wedding, Shannon sent an alarming email with the subject line “Head Advisory, Oh No!”, asking us what our plan was. Getting any email titled “Oh No” isn’t fun to receive less than a week before your wedding. Further, as a trusted wedding vendor, we would hope that she would have plans for weather or unexpected events rather than looking to us during a very stressful period. Lastly, (and most disappointingly) despite having a run of day schedule, Shannon was nowhere to be found when it was time to put on boutonnieres and corsages. Our photographers and party thankfully jumped in to help to avoid major delays to portraits (shout out to Katie Slater!). Fundamentally, the product Shannon provided was beyond compare - everything was beautiful. That said, the communication, coordination, and organization were lacking from our experience.

I cannot recommend Sara and her company more. It’s hard to find the words to express how truly wonderful she is. I began with looking for a florist and ended up finding a designer genius and friend. She truly allowed me the space to bounce ideas off of and did everything she could to execute my vision. Even if it didn’t fall immediately as her responsibility. My wedding was very candle heavy and she created a magical world of candles and florals that only dreams are made of. She also designed my lounge area and ceremony. Everything was executed exactly as I imagined. It’s as if she reaches in and pulls out what you picture even when you can’t put into words. We had weekly calls and brainstorming sessions. She came to my venue several times with me to ensure the layout. She went ABOVE and BEYOND. When I say that you get more than you pay for with Sara it’s the truth! I’m so grateful and thankful for her and words can never express the adoration I have for the human she is and how she made my wedding dreams come true. Book her, you won’t be sorry!!

Andy is THE most passionate about florals—you won’t be disappointed about your flowers on your big day! He took our wedding vibe to a whole new level. From our first chat, we both knew that we didn’t really have any knowledge in what we were doing, but Andy was so patient with us and explained all we needed to know. Every bouquet and centerpiece was stunning – he totally nailed the color and the look that we were hoping for. Our venue looked like it came straight out of Pinterest. During a few of our meetings, Andy has always been such a pleasure to chat with—we just knew we were on the same page about our vision. An added bonus was meeting Andy’s dog, Charlie! Andy’s dedication to his art is on another level, and he added that extra pop of magic to our day. If you're after a florist who turns flower dreams into reality, Andy is your best bet!

      Boom & Bloom Floral Design

      5.0

      Middleburgh, NY
      • Starts at $7,500
      • Serves Sidney, NY

Having spent decades in the trenches of the floral design and event production industries working beside renowned NYC and Southern California designers, Eliza Rose has brought her unique style to her own botanical studio, Boom & Bloom Floral Design. Eliza's signature style blends the timeless, decadent allure of the Dutch Masters paintings with the ephemeral beauty of nature. Embracing the Dutch tradition of capturing the essence of each season, Eliza utilizes native grown and foraged flowers from her property in the Great Northern Catskills as well as supporting local farms by sourcing blooms from their sustainably grown, seasonal crops.

We couldn't have asked for a better design team for our wedding. Planning a wedding remotely from So. Cal. when the wedding was going to be outdoors in the Northeast was difficult without friends or family close by and Liza and her team really made the day so customized, special and significantly more accessible in creating what we had dreamed the day could be. It was a great representation of the style Anderson and I have as a couple and they even added in some memory pieces from our families that helped integrate them into the wedding. We loved the the floral items were sourced locally (and partially from our own hometowns!). The sustainability story is what sold us on the B&B team initially and we only grew more grateful when we saw the incredible design. Thanks Boom and Bloom!

Working with Naomi for our wedding florals was a DREAM and an exceptional experience from start to finish. We cannot recommend her and her team at Nectar and Vessel highly enough to other couples getting married. One of the best decisions we made for our wedding was hiring Naomi and her team and giving her complete creative freedom. She took that freedom, and spun floral magic into the most beautifully designed space we have ever seen. Her love for florals, and for creating beautiful moments for others shines in her work - and isn’t that what you want on your wedding day? To be surrounded by love through flowers that all your guests can feel? That’s the magic Naomi brings to weddings that is impossible to replicate. The floral designs and artistry that Naomi and her team created for our day were simply stunning. Beyond being beautiful, they were unique and felt personal to us. It was the talk of the wedding that none of the guests had ever seen a display like the florals at our wedding, and that each tablescape and design felt like a work of art. A few things additional things about working with N&V we’d like to highlight: Design and vision: Naomi not only executed a vision for our wedding florals and design, she shaped it from the very beginning. The proposal powerpoint was a detailed mood board of not only the florals, but the overall vibe and design for the wedding. For the bride or groom, like me, who was overwhelmed with how to make a wedding feel cohesive, personal, and intentionally designed, trust in Naomi to help jump start that process and hire her as one of your early vendors. Flawless logistics and professionalism: Working with N&V was completely stress free because Naomi and her team are true professionals. She was respectful of our budget, had a clear, well-structured contract, and payment through her professional portal was incredibly easy. Everything was delivered, set-up, and cleaned up flawlessly and on-time. Importantly, if there were any issues day-of, we didn’t hear about it or take on any of that stress (though with her careful planning, I bet there weren’t any fires to put out!) While these sound like boring logistics, all of this professional preparation on N&V’s part saved us a ton of time and stress wedding planning. Positivity and good energy: Naomi herself is the warmest and most effusively positive person - that was clear from our very first consultation call with her and was even more true on the day of our wedding. We felt showered in positivity throughout our experience working with her, which is exactly what you want on your big day! We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to work with Nectar and Vessel, and specifically, Naomi and her wonderful team. Hire her early, trust her to work her magic and give her all the creative control, and then watch your wedding venue transform. Violet's Florist is an absolute hidden gem (especially for city weddings!!) and I cannot say enough good things about them, SO please excuse the long (glowing) review, but it's well deserved :-) .... I stumbled upon Violet, Hanna and team when I was in a VERY tight pinch (needed wedding florals in a matter of 4 days, right after Christmas) with a VERY tall ask on that order (300, delivered to the Upper East Side). My fiance and I made a last minute decision to elope at a small ceremony, ahead of our big one that was to be later that year, so my recently ill 95 year old grandma could attend. I nearly gave up on flowers for this small ceremony, after being shut down by 20 other florists in the area, then struck gold with Violet, who graciously told me not to worry about a thing and that it would be no problem.  I figured it was a 50/50 shot that I even saw the flowers (they were coming in from NJ for me), let alone that they'd be nice ones, given the time and budget constraints ... never did I ever expect to actually have beautiful arrangements, including a sweet corsage for our guest of honor and her nurse AND matching boutonnieres thrown in for my young nephew, who I mentioned my grandma adores. They truly made for the most memorable day and my mom, sisters and I will forever be grateful for the special treatment they showed our grandma. After that, it was a no brainer for who we would work with on our actual big day after that - our venues were pretty decorated already (Church of St Thomas More  Essex House Ballroom), so I was not sure how to go about complementing the very different details in both, but Violet and her team nailed it (yet, again!). We literally had guests fighting over who got to take the centerpieces home with them ha  Hanna was especially helpful with this day - We had a very hands on appointment in the store a few months out, where she guided me on looks within budget and made thoughtful recs (my flower knowledge was pretty limited, prior to our chat, I came to realize...was great to feel like an educated buyer!). She even helped in sending me links for Amazon purchases I could make to elevate the vibe, without having to pay an arm and a leg to get certain things through wedding vendors (ie taper candles amongst the florals, reusing arrangements from church at reception welcome etc).  Further, I later found out about so much behind the scenes work Hanna did, on my behalf with other vendors, handling "situations" before they became real situations and making sure I was not bothered with any of that stress unless really needed.... beyond professional and gracious on all fronts! BOOK THIS FLORIST!!!!! - you and your guests will be in love with your arrangements.   Even more, you'll actually feel good about the purchase (they are not in the business of ripping people, including brides!, off)  AND get to work with some of the sweetest, most genuine and extremely buttoned-up/professional people in the game.  No matter if you are NY or NJ based, you have nothing to worry about with this group being part of your team on the big day ... they execute smooth beyond belief :-)
