I was born and raised in a quiet seaside town on the South Shore of Long Island. I grew up in a place where good, strong love grows with parents who have been together since they were 16 years old. They taught me that true love grows in the face of hardship and, as strong believers in their faith, that love is, indeed, patient and kind. And so as soon as I realized that wedding photography didn’t have to be posed and mechanical; that I could shoot weddings from a more organic and authentic lens; that I could document a story, not direct one, I was hooked!

“Having a good photographer was one of my priorities for my wedding. I knew the day was going to be a whirlwind and I wanted to be able to look back and at least have one photo where my eyes weren’t closed or something. Lauren absolutely delivered — I don’t think we’ve ever looked as good in pictures and I know I probably won’t again!! Lauren also recommended Elizabeth for our day-of coordinator and I don’t know what we would have done without her — I definitely would have lost my mind, of that I’m sure. First, I can’t overstate the importance of finding a photographer with whom you have a good rapport — Lauren has this charisma where you instantly feel at ease and like you’ve known her your whole life. It frankly made me less nervous and I think that translates really well in the photos. She’s also a master of making you look the best in posed photos - giving little positioning directions that you look elegant without looking stiff. Every time I look at the pictures I’ll notice another candid moment that Lauren managed to capture or simply marvel at how she somehow can translate emotion in a still picture — I find myself smiling and definitely not crying (jk definitely crying) because you can FEEL what we were feeling in these photos. Second, get you a planner who is superhuman. Elizabeth took over six weeks (!) before the wedding and it was like a literal weight was lifted from my shoulders. At our first meeting she went through her checklist (and mine bc of course I had my own) and said “I’ll take care of it” to literally everything... and then...did?? I was fully prepared to have to follow up with vendors and micromanage but I basically didn’t have to do anything. It was magical. Elizabeth and her team did so much work and went above and beyond in literally every way to ensure we had a perfect day. Anyway, if you’re struggling with choosing a photographer because there are 72525 million to choose from, and you like the style of Lauren’s photos, go for it ASAP. Lauren is incredible and I feel so lucky that we were able to work with her. And if you need a day-of coordinator (or a full blown wedding planner!) pick Elizabeth - she has the eye for design and the capability to pull it off and pull it off well!”

“Knowing how much of a financial investment a wedding photographer was going to be, I did not take my decision lightly. I reached out to several companies and had several questions when determining who would be the right fit. And I have to say, Marie was by far the most understanding and compassionate during that process. While many photographers seemed annoyed by the (many) questions I would ask before booking, Marie was patient and very thoughtful with her responses -- she even took time to arrange a phone call with me while traveling! “Booking Rachel Stenger was one of the best vendor decisions that my husband and I made for our wedding day. Even from the first meeting we had with Rachel, she has such a calming and warm presence which we knew was what we would need the day of. She has such a unique way of photographing and capturing moments that make her so special and unlike a lot of other wedding photographers we met with. We did an engagement session with her and she made us feel so at ease, like most couples we're not naturally in front of the camera but she was able to easily talk us through poses throughout the session. We had a call the month of to discuss details with her - e.i, timeline, shot list, etc. This was a great call because it helped all of us get on the same page for day of. Forwarding to the wedding day - Rachel arrived early to start on capturing details. She helped us stay on-time during getting ready and first look since my DoC was at the venue setting up. She was able to capture SO many images throughout the day from getting ready all the way to the dance floor. Aside from the staged/traditional photos you'd expect from the wedding, she captured so many beautiful candid moments. She moved in SILENCE, I truly didn't see her for most of the day (in a good way!) yet we ended up with 750 images in the 7 hrs we hired her for. She captured everything and more. When we finally got the full album - my husband and I spent had an amazing 2 hours reliving every single moment! She blew us away and we were not prepared by how beautifully she captured the day - all of the details, the emotions, and the aesthetics, were EVERYTHING! Her talent is remarkable and we couldn't have asked for anything more. I'd recommend her to anyone - in fact, I already have a friend that's hired her for their day.”

She also took care of finding us a second photographer (Marcus), a videographer (Glenn), and a live stream assistant (Matt) - all of whom were wonderful, professional, kind, and talented. We were able to do first look/couple photos around the Library of Congress and Supreme Court with Olga, Marcus, and Glenn and all three made it a fun and easy-going experience that resulted in truly stunning photos. After the wedding (and the "engagement shoot") Olga sent us a "sneak peak" of the photos within just a few days! We are so grateful we found her and could not recommend her and her team enough!!! “Hiring Nate with the Paperboys team might have been the best decision we made during our entire wedding planning process. My husband and I are (very picky) creatives by nature and trade so we knew that we wanted to be very intentional about our choice of photographer for our special day. Our venue was a historic hotel that requires you to work with one of their select partners, something we initially were a little hesitant about due to its inherent limitations. Most partners listed had very technically beautiful photos but nothing that excited us creatively. Until we saw their most recent partner addition: Paperboys. We loved the playfulness, talent, and imagination that was deeply valued with the team and quickly connected with our photographer Nate both creatively and socially. It was apparent that he truly loved his craft and was easy to communicate our vision with, always making sure to ask helpful questions and take the time to study our provided resource materials. Without prompting or extra charge, he also opted to bring his own film camera to snap some artsy film shots on the actual day, an above and beyond move that shows how much he genuinely just loves what he does. The finished photos absolutely exceeded expectations. His signature style we loved shone through while also managing to capture the exact essence of what we were hoping for stylistically. And as someone who specifically struggles with body confidence and anxiety, he was able to make me feel safe by providing a calm presence and plenty of posing guidance. This allowed me to truly just exist and enjoy the day, which is something I genuinely wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to manage, and therefore the most wonderful gift in and of itself.
