Pluvia Studios was a fantastic choice for our wedding photography. From the very beginning, their communication was prompt and professional. Jaydee and his team were incredibly accommodating, even with our short notice request. On the day of the wedding, their attention to detail and ability to capture all the special moments was truly impressive. The final photos exceeded our expectations - a simple wedding ceremony looked truly extravagant thanks to their expert skills. Right after graduating from CSU Sacramento in 2012 (with a BA in Photography, might I add!), I did photography as a side-hustle while working a couple of various jobs: part-time as a Summer camp counselor and full-time at a medical device company. After getting married in 2016, I moved to Modesto with my husband since he was working there at the time. Because of the move, I had to leave my jobs in the East Bay. I took this move to the Central Valley as a sign that I should do photography full-time. So, since 2017, I've been a full-time wedding photographer. We are now in beautiful Sonoma County!

Oh geez, I don't know where to start with how much I loved working with Diane! We originally worked with her for our engagement shoot, and from the beginning she was responsive and all of her communication was detailed and transparent. She put so much time into getting to know my partner and I so that she could capture us in a genuine manner, and also so that she could help us feel as comfortable as possible taking photos (it was our first time taking photos professionally, and neither of us is super comfortable in front of a camera). Taking the photos was so much fun, and her final product captured that so incredibly well. We were OBSESSED with the photos. Her Instagram really captured her skill and artistry because we saw them in our final products, too. Working with her for our wedding was such a clear choice! In the process of preparing for the wedding, she again collected so many details from us to make sure she understood what kinds of photos we wanted, and her timeline for the day ran perfectly! We got every shot we wanted, and she checked in along the way to also get any photos we hadn't thought about leading up to the wedding. She is an absolute PRO!!! Not only that, but she brought so much joy, light, and fun to the day. Our guests loved her too!! I heard so much from them after the fact about how they felt like she was somehow everywhere all at once, not a moment to be missed!! The wedding JUST happened, and we already have LOTS of sneak peeks that look incredible. We absolutely loved working with Diane, and seriously cannot recommend her more highly. She is an absolute joy and gem, and we will absolutely be working with her in the future for any special occasions we want help capturing. THANK YOU DIANE!!

  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $5,500
  • Serves San Miguel, CA for additional fees

Hi. I’m Josh. Our work is based in Washington, DC, often in San Francisco and we’re happy to travel. The best photographs are simple, unobtrusive, and spontaneous. Memory fills in the gaps - this is how authentic photography captivates us. We've always sought to remember things exactly how they happened - how we felt. The goal is to unobtrusively document your day through artful frames. I'm a firm believer there is no single best photographer anywhere in the world - but there are artist the align with your vision. Please look us up on Google (Joshua Fernandez Photography) and see how past clients describe their experience with us. :)

Awarded Best of Zola
Josh is an incredibly talented photographer. The pictures he took for us are just magic. I would highly recommend him for your family photos, professional photos, wedding or special event. You'll treasure the photos forever!

  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $4,000
  • Serves San Miguel, CA for additional fees

Hey there!! My name is Marilyn and I'm so glad you're here ♡ I am a couples + wedding photographer based in New York City, and happy to travel to wherever your day is at! I've had pink hair for the last 6 years so at this point it has become a personality trait and I'm 100% okay with it. I love the outdoors, pat every dog I can, and thrive on ben and jerry's. My ideal place to be would likely be frolicking in wildflowers in a dress that's way too long, but the longer the better. The patio of my NYC apartment with a good book is a close second favorite though, for sure.

Awarded Best of Zola
Working with Marilyn was such a treat. She’s so warm, and communicating with her is a breeze. Both my husband and I were more interested in capturing the moments of our wedding day rather than spending loads of time on staged family portraits. Marilyn and her assistant Emma were great at getting the shots your grandparents will want while also capturing the essence of your night. She asked great questions, made sure we felt comfortable at every turn, and fully captured the essence of my (camera-shy) husband. Don’t hesitate to work with her!!

First and foremost, congratulations! This is an exciting time! Before I begin with all the details, I would like to do away with the formalities and keep it light. Technically speaking, I’m a photographer, but honestly, since establishing my business in 2014, I would consider myself a teammate through this process. I’ve really enjoyed getting to know couples, their families, their stories, and at the end of the day, becoming a good friend. If this vibes with you, we are off to a good start :) Answering questions, transparency in communication, and prompt responses are important to me and I hope that everything I share resonates.

Justin was the first vendor that we booked for our wedding- before the venue, before anything else and it was probably the best decision that I made in the entirety of our wedding planning. Justin was such a pleasure to work with from the start and went above and beyond to make sure that my partner and I were comfortable in the run-up to the wedding and on our wedding day (which is saying a lot, because my partner hates taking/being in pictures). On the wedding day, Justin was even more incredible than I could have imagined. He made us both feel at ease the entire wedding, making us laugh and seamlessly capturing amazing pictures along the way. All night and since the wedding, we've had family and friends tell us how incredible Justin was- his easygoing, friendly demeanor made an already really special day even better and we are so grateful to have him as our photographer. The pictures he captured are stunning (no surprise given the work we'd seen of his before) but I was blown away by the candid moments he was able to capture that we will cherish forever. Again- I can't recommend Justin highly enough and will forever be grateful for both the way he was able to capture the best moments of such an important day and for him being such a wonderful person.

I am SO HAPPY that we hired Ali for our wedding! She was so kind and easygoing while also totally in command and on top of every request we had photography wise. Her years of wedding coordination and event experience were truly evident throughout every step of the day. Not only was she totally on top of keeping us on our timeline and capturing all of the special moments, but she even went into super hero mode and on the spot sewed one of my bridesmaids dresses in the bathroom right before the ceremony without showing an ounce of stress. We already received our preview photos and are truly blown away by how she captured our love & our special day. Her attention to detail, calming presence, and creative approach are truly invaluable and we will be recommending her to everyone we know for years to come!

Hi! I’m Justin (he/him) and I’m here to affirm your love, make you feel like a fucking rockstar, and dance like a total fool. Oh, and take so many gorgeous photos of y’all. Obvs. My style blends both documentary photojournalism and fine art photography: coaching folks who are shy in front of the camera, then stepping back to capture authentic moments uninterrupted. I’ve been lucky enough to have my work published by A Practical Wedding, The New York Times, GLAMOUR, People Magazine and many other fabulous outlets. I'm a stereotypical Capricorn that loves drag shows, campy horror films, every dog I meet, and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.

Awarded Best of Zola
Justin was phenomenal to work with! We hired him as we noticed how, compared to the other photographers we were considering, his images evoked fun and a world of vivid colors, and above all, everyone in his photos looked HAPPY, which is a harder quality to find in professional wedding photos than you might think. Anyway, Justin did not disappoint! While a consummate professional, he was also incredibly fun to work with and was great at putting us at ease in order to get the best, most natural photos possible. He brilliantly captured the warmth and love of our wedding day. We felt seen and understood throughout the process of working with him, and the resulting images were gorgeous, bursting with light, color, and joy.

Arie T. Photography, LLC

  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $2,995
  • Serves San Miguel, CA for additional fees

Welcome to Arie T. Photography, a black queer woman-owned and operated traveling portrait and wedding photography service based out of the Georgia and Michigan! I've had the honor of capturing all walks of life across the USA with hopes of taking it worldwide. I'm known for my use of natural light, and "unposed” stress-free approach when it comes to my clients. If you feel like you’re awkward in front of the camera, I’ll take that as a challenge to prove you wrong because I can be awkward too.

Awarded Best of Zola
We hired Arie for our wedding reception. She scheduled multiple check in calls with us to coordinate details before the date. She showed up on time, had good direction (like, she was good at herding people AND she was good at telling people to make tweaks so they look good), and blended in with the crowd. Looking at the results now and WOW they look even better than our memories.

Thalia Moshtagh Photography

  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $3,000
  • Serves San Miguel, CA for additional fees

Hello! I’m so excited for the chance to work with you. I’m a former teacher who has always had a passion for photography. I started working freelance in 2015 and did a lot of my first jobs in the music industry. I shot Warped Tour a few times and even had one of my promos featured by AP magazine. I quickly realized I loved working with couples the most, and now focus on couple and family portraits and weddings!

Awarded Best of Zola
Thalia saved our wedding. We had to change photographers very last minute and were super worried about hiring someone new. Then we found Thalia and from the moment we had our first intro call with her we had a feeling that everything was going to work out. She was so professional, during our first call she was very well organized and clear about what she would need from us. She took her time to make sure we were a great match and to understand our vision. She was personable and kind, speaking with her felt like talking to a friend right away. She was considerate, during all parts of the wedding she made sure to give us time alone together and we never felt rushed. Even still she constantly captured the most breath taking photos. Lastly she was so much fun! Our guests loved her and thought she had the most wonderful energy. She directed us very well. Looking over the pictures I’ve never felt so beautiful. She even brought her own props to go with our theme for the pictures. A vintage camera and tray. Everything she did was so thoughtful. I wish we could have another wedding just to have her photograph it. You will not regret working with Thalia. We feel so incredibly lucky to have gotten the opportunity.
