“It was love at first sight when I found Blooming Faith Photography on Zola! I was struck by the classic style of the portraits and natural air of those being photographed. It was exactly what I was looking for! Melissa was quick to respond to my inquiry and provided all the info I needed right off the bat. She is detailed and thorough in her correspondence and planning, which I appreciated since we only had 5 months to plan our wedding long distance. She offered an introductory Zoom consultation to discuss our vision for the photos so we could feel at ease leading up to the actual day. When the time came, Melissa was the consummate professional! We did a First Look shoot, and she lead the way completely, to avoid any awkward mishaps and to insure we got the moment captured on our video as well. All of our formal photos were posed beautifully and naturally, and she timed it all perfectly (which was great, because it was quite cold!) She’s also great with kids! Our flower girl and ring bearer had a great time doing photos. At both the ceremony and reception, Melissa didn’t miss a single moment yet remained respectful and discreet. “We had a terrific experience working with Meaghan and Brendon of “Far Out Feeling.” If you’ve made it this far, you already love their style – their ability to capture both candid and staged photos artfully – and we are happy to report that the photographers have personalities to match. We loved meeting them for drinks months in advance of our wedding, which gave us a nice context for one another when the day finally came (we cannot imagine, now, not knowing our wedding photographers when they arrived to take pictures of us!) We perhaps didn’t consider how crucial this feeling of comfort was, but when you think about, you do spend a tremendous portion of your wedding day with your photographers. “This was a second wedding, and we wanted it to be our way. Because we have NEVER had a bad meal at a Stephen Starr restaurant, we immediately decided to use Starr Catering. Best decision ever. We worked with Brittany Glover, who was professional, accommodating, and understood that we wanted an outstanding food experience, both for us and for our guests. We also wanted a pescatarian/vegetarian menu, which we thought would be a bit of a challenge; but Brittany gave us so many options that it never even registered that we didn't have meat. The planning was so much fun, the tasting dinner was spectacular, and we didn't have to think about a thing at the wedding itself. The catering was breathtakingly beautiful, and SO DELICIOUS. Our guests absolutely swooned over the food, and are still talking about how wonderful it was. The presentation was superb, the service outstanding, the open bar with a signature cocktail (Aperol spritz) was fantastic, the burrata bar at the cocktail hour killed, the hot stuff was hot and the cold stuff was cold, and the integration of other one-off requests of ours (one relative wanted light beer, we used a favorite baker for the wedding cake, Eric likes good rye, etc.) was seamless. Honestly, we wouldn't have changed a thing. We would use Starr Catering again in a heartbeat. It's our second anniversary today, and we're so grateful to Starr Catering for helping us have the wedding we wanted. T”

“Let’s start with “WOW!” We had a music festival themed wedding with four bands so music was a critical piece of our wedding weekend and the standards were high. We interviewed over 20 bands from the NYC area and decided to go with Vitamin M after really vibing with their band leader, JJ. And boy are we glad we did! JJ worked with us to curate the perfect performance for us and our guests. He was able to balance dance songs and classics alongside some custom requests that went off the beaten path of most traditional weddings from the likes of The Band, Talking Heads and The Clash. He even helped us surprise our guests with a singing introduction of the bride and groom. He took time to get to know us and was always happy to answer any questions we had. This was not a cookie cutter wedding band performance. This is a group of truly talented professional musicians putting on a real show. I quickly discovered that I loved and excelled at photo retouching, and went on to work for some of the best photo retouching studios in New York. In 2009 I shot my first wedding, it was a dear friend of mine and the beautiful photos were featured in one of the biggest wedding magazines. “I don't even know where to start--TL/DR: Hire Jeff and his crew immediately, this is an easy decision amidst many difficult ones! Jeff was simply wonderful to work with; his easygoing and kind presence were evident from our very first video call. His assistants day-of were likewise incredibly upbeat and professional. Their coverage was comprehensive but somehow completely unobtrusive; my husband and I didn't notice them at all during the day save for some personalized instruction from Jeff (which he was amenable to doing more or less of per our preference, as we wanted things to feel as natural as possible). His presence was just what you would want, like a bright ray of sunlight cutting through the stress of the day. I felt like we were in good hands, and that he and his crew were doing their absolute best. We were excited for the video(s) but unprepared for the quality. You see, Jeff's prices are far more reasonable than many others we looked at, and his services more comprehensive, and a part of us wondered if it was too good to be true. It wasn't. We were blown away. The short video (set to a song of our choice and edited perfectly to fit the song) was a work of art; he perfectly captured the feeling of the day and picked the best footage. The longer video was so well edited too--we were expecting something much more raw but there was so much attention to detail. Above and beyond, and incredibly thorough, is how I would characterize Jeff for the entirety of the process. We couldn't be more pleased. My husband and I wanted to hire vendors who we would be happy spending the day with--Jeff fits that bill, and we were thrilled to find that he is as talented as he is nice. I vouch for him 100%.”

On my arrival, parking was easy and there were clear directions made for all attendees. My work area had amazing lighting already set up, a chair and table set up, and a personalized gift bag and refreshments waiting for me. “I truly cannot put into words how amazing our entire experience was from start to finish. We found John and Avec L'Amour through our photographer, Heather Soucy. She told me that her family even used John for her brother's wedding because of everyone she has worked with, she trusted him to document their special day in the best way. That spoke volumes to me. When I say these two are a 'dream team' I am not kidding. As someone who had never been professionally photographed or video'd before, I was really nervous about looking and feeling awkward. John made my husband, Mike, and me feel SO comfortable throughout the whole day. It was so cool seeing these two incredibly creative minds feeding off each other to get the best possible shot. It was a little rainy on our day and they actually took video/photos of us inside a puddle reflection--I mean who thinks of that?! We were running a little late to the reception when our portraits were supposed to be taken and John knew we didn't want to miss too much of cocktail hour. We were able to get the most beautiful shots in just 30 minutes, including drone, which was super important to us. The Avec L'Amour team got absolutely stunning video without us feeling like we had cameras in our faces all night. We booked John for the 8-hour package, but realized we were not going to be able to get the bouquet toss or cake cutting in that time frame. NO worries!! John offered to stay an extra hour to capture the remainder of the evening. Now for the deliverables: we got our first teaser video back within 3 weeks of our day and I was absolutely blown away. We received the full gallery which included a 1 minute teaser, 3 minute trailer, and the full 1.5 hour long event not even a MONTH after our wedding day. It was just like watching a move of all our favorite people and he captured the day so perfectly. I cannot say enough: RUN, don't walk to book John and Avec L'Amour for your special day!!
