I’m Michelle, a Portland, Maine based wedding and couples photographer. I grew up in a small town in Connecticut, spent my college years and 20s in Boston, moved to New York City with my husband and now have found my way back to New England. I worked for eight years in event planning before going full-time with my photography business. I'd absolutely describe my style as a mixture of classic, artistic and photojournalism, but my heart lies in capturing candid moments.

Every weekend you'll find me oohing over a wedding dress, and holding my breath for the first moment the groom sees the bride. The wedding style I like the most is candid, but I definitely don't mind posing a nervous couple, or arranging that perfect artistic shot before the light changes. I am patient, calm, and encouraging... I think I get along with everyone... I'm like the nerdy extra bridesmaid with a really killer camera.

I was introduced to the world of photography the same week I was introduced to the world. All thanks to my Dad, who was never without his camera. Because of him, our memories growing up are preserved. Then I got my first camera when I was about 6. I documented everything. Since then, my memories, large and small, are organized on my computer, by year. So I can go back & revisit so many wonderful memories from my life...most which I wouldn't even remember without pictures. I enjoy life, and that’s why people call me the “happiest photographer.”
