The hair and makeup held up great, and even looked better as the night went on. Heather and I had such a fun time, and I knew she would be my artist for the big day. The day of the wedding, six of us had to get ready - myself, 3 bridesmaids, my mother, and mother-in-law. Heather brought her business partner Crystal, and the eight of us had the best time ever. We chatted, listened to music, and had a blast the whole day. Heather and Crystal were both so fun, down-to-earth, and really made it feel like you were talking to a bestie. Besides marrying the love of my life (obviously), the part that I was most excited about was getting ready with my girls. The Shade and Strand team gave us exactly the experience that I was looking for, and made all six of us look absolutely stunning. I asked Heather to be my new go-to hairstylist, and she happily agreed. I can’t wait to make my first appointment with her and watch her work her magic. I also know who to go to whenever I need my hair and makeup done for a special event. Shade and Strand can do natural, glam, and everywhere in between. Book them and you will not be disappointed! “DJ Conner was absolutely amazing and my husband and I couldn't be happier with the dancing music and all the music played throughout the evening. He listened to our music needs, which were not the clearest at times, but nonetheless he came up with a great playlist that fit the diverse age range and what we were envisioning. It seemed that all the guests were dancing on the dance floor at some point in the evening. Just recently a guest from the wedding reached out commenting how Conner was the best wedding DJ they have ever heard. Conner brings a cool, sophisticated vibe that is truly great for all age demographics. Additionally, Conner was super professional, on time, and had state of the art sound equipment. He also did an incredible job micing the night and keeping the pace. The fact that I didn't want the night to end speaks volumes to how much I enjoyed our wedding and a big part of that was the music. Hiring the right DJ is one of the best wedding decisions we made and was also way more cost effective than a live band. To wrap this up, we are so thankful Conner decided to take his DJ talents to the wedding industry. I am sure his business will take off. Ryan was really helpful on our initial phone call, and in making sure everything was all set for the big day. Kris and Alec were our videographers, and they were such a joy to work with. From the second they showed up, they were helpful, fun, and warm. They were great at directing us and helping us feel comfortable in the shots with just the two of us, and then they were awesome the rest of the day/night at blending in with our guests and capturing some amazing footage. They had a great sense of humor, and they clearly enjoy their work and sharing in the joy that they are helping to capture. We never felt nervous or self-conscious, and barely noticed we were being filmed. And the finished product is just incredible! The footage they captured and the way Ryan Films edited it truly captured the essence of the day. The music they chose to put our footage to matched our vibe perfectly, and they chose some of the most beautiful words from the ceremony and speeches to include. We originally ordered the cinematic highlight reel, and ended up adding on the full ceremony cut and reception cut as well. We were so stoked and surprised by the 1 minute teaser video they sent us a week after the wedding! And they were very timely in their delivery of our full finished product. “Wedgewood Weddings provided catering services through Abbey Catering & Events for our December wedding in La Jolla, CA. We contacted the Abbey well ahead of time to receive a proposal for comparison with other catering groups. One of the reasons we leaned toward the Abbey is due to our initial conversations with Will Konecki. He was so enjoyable to speak with, and he helped hash out the initial details for our event. He provided us relevant documentation for menus, event rentals, and details on the included floral package. Will also made suggestions for cost-effective solutions to achieve the event atmosphere we wanted to provide for our guests. Will’s event experience allowed him to answer all of our questions, and he was very responsive via phone and email. We attended one of Abbey Catering’s tasting events where we met Will and other staff in person to taste the different appetizers and entrees. Some memorable favorites were the mini beef wellingtons, the feta-stuffed dates with bacon, and the sesame-soy glazed salmon. We were stuffed with all the food we tried, and we got to see some options for how the guest tables can be decorated. This is also where we met our assigned event manager. Our assigned event manager was Petr Trebin. As our event date got closer, Petr was very communicative of upcoming deadlines and requirements. Petr was extremely fun to work with. He shared excitement in all his communications with us and made sure we were taken care of well before the event. Petr was onsite throughout the duration of our event and went above and beyond in taking care of us. For example, he set aside a plate of all our appetizers and signature drinks inside the bridal suite room so we could eat our appetizers and drink our beverages in private without having to wait in line. Furthermore, he checked in on us throughout the event to make sure everything was going well and we didn’t have any questions or requests. Before the evening ended, Petr noticed that we barely got to touch our entrees due to being occupied with our guests so Petr packed two meals for us to take home as well as bites from our dessert bar. Petr was a pleasure to work with, and he made the experience wonderful from start to finish. Post-wedding, he shared with us all the photos and videos he took during the event which was a nice gesture. We highly recommend Abbey Catering for catering services for your wedding or any other event!”

“We had the absolute best experience with this venue on our wedding on June 22. From start to finish, everything was so organized and seamless. The team answered all of my questions quickly and thoroughly throughout the planning process, which really helped ease any stress. Everything was laid out and organized. You can tell they have good systems in place to ensure smooth planning. On the day of the wedding, Lauren (our coordinator) was an absolute angel. She was calm, collected, and brought such a positive, grounding energy that made a huge difference for me when I was feeling overwhelmed. She handled so many behind the scenes details that I didn’t even have to think about, and her communication throughout the process was amazing. Sierra, our banquet captain, was also incredible! She made sure the groom and I always had a drink in hand, checked in on us regularly, and went above and beyond to make sure we were enjoying every moment. And Isaac, our DJ did such a great job at accommodating our music style and requests. You can tell the whole team loves what they do. The venue itself is stunning. It's clean, beautifully maintained, and perfectly set up so that the ceremony and reception are close together. It made everything so convenient for our guests, who all raved about how beautiful the space was. We also got tons of compliments on the food from our buffet, it was delicious and a huge hit. If you’re considering this venue, I highly recommend it. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience or a better team to help us bring our wedding day to life.”

“The sister duo, Joanne and Janine, did hair and makeup for me and my 4 bridesmaids in March 2026. They were fantastic, adapting to each person’s preferences, were incredibly responsive throughout the process, and were more affordable than other hair and makeup artists we contacted. I met with both of them twice before my wedding. I did a trial almost a year prior when I was first booking them, then another time about a month before my wedding. They were helpful in making sure I was comfortable with the look and that it felt like me. They were open to feedback and changes as I went and I loved the look I had ultimately! My bridesmaids also enjoyed working with both of them. Their styles and preferences were accommodated! Our hair and makeup all held up well for our long day! Overall Styles by Joanne Fortune was the best choice we could’ve made. They helped make sure we kept time appropriately, made us all feel so pretty and were so friendly and fun to be around. “I can't say enough about Mia, Laron and their team. Of all my wedding vendors, they were my favorite (and easiest) to work with. They were very accessible and easy to reach; I could message my random thoughts and ideas at any hour and Mia would respond almost immediately. They work tirelessly around the clock to get things done so you aren't waiting to get your photos back; mine were sent to me the next day. They are open to suggestions and ideas; I had different visions for my engagement shoot and they were willing to do things out of the norm to make it work. Our photoshoots were fun and unique. I did a boudoir shoot with Mia and she made me feel very comfortable in an intimate setting and it was not awkward at all. Mia is your hype girl! I love their willingness to go with the flow while still getting things done. Mia and Laron complement each other very well. They have different perspective from one another so when they put their heads together, there is more opportunity for creativity, visually stunning work and a unique experience.
