The North Star House was built during the age of the California Gold Rush as a home and business accommodation for the second largest producing mine in California. It was designed by Julia Morgan, the first licensed female architect in in the State. Her greatest claim to fame is the Hearst Castle. The House features a catering kitchen, lighted courtyard, open grassy areas, wooded views, a veranda overlooking the sunset and plenty of parking. We're only a couple miles from Downtown Grass Valley's accommodations, shops and nightlife. We allow for lots of flexibility in how you plan your day and you can bring your own vendors and beverages. Rough & Ready Vineyard and Guesthouse welcomes outside companies to come onsite, meaning that the happy couple can hire the talent they want to bring their vision to life. Event rentals can also be provided, while get-ready rooms are available for those who need space to change attire, carry out makeup touch-ups or freshen-up.
