Long Hill is a property of The Trustees of Reservations, a Massachusetts non-profit corporation. From 1916 to 1979, Long Hill was the summer home of noted author and editor of The Atlantic Monthly, Ellery Sedgwick. He summered here with his first wife, Mabel Cabot Sedgwick, an accomplished horticulturist, gardener, and author of The Garden Month by Month, and his second wife, Marjorie Russell Sedgwick, a rare plants specialist—both of whom created a delightful, enchanting landscape, surrounded by more than 100 acres of woodland. Today, visitors delight in the beauty of Long Hill’s structured and naturalistic gardens as well as a network of woodland trails. While we do not have a full kitchen, we offer a prep space to prepare, store and serve food. Our space is ideal for catered bites and cocktail foods. We are also a unique and special option for wedding parties to prep for the big day. We are steps away from the heart of downtown Newport and located close to many bars, restaurants and hotels.

Ochre Court, the stunning historical venue located at Salve Regina University. Ochre Court holds a rich history, having been built between 1890 and 1895 as the summer residence of Ogden Goelet. It's truly a magnificent location, nestled within the heart of the picturesque Salve Regina University campus, boasting breathtaking views of the Newport Cliff Walk. The fee for a wedding reception is $30,000.00, which includes exclusive use of the building for a five-hour reception, provision of tables and chairs, setup and breakdown services, as well as dedicated wedding planning support leading up to and during the reception.
