About this venue
Willowdale Estate is a private mansion, just 30-miles north of Boston, Massachusetts. Located within a 720-acre state forest, and along the pristine Ipswich River. Our private estate is the perfect setting for a New England wedding ceremony and reception. Our coordination team and catering staff will execute your plan with grace, leaving you free to enjoy the party and mix with your guests. At Willowdale Estate, we host two wedding seasons. Our Tent Season from May-October is perfect for parties between 125-240 guests, and our Mansion Season from November-April is better suited for smaller parties between 80-125 guests inside our Estate. As you search for a venue, we would love to hear from you! We can send open dates, host a tour of our space, or create a quote for you. Tent Events (Mansion, Tent, and Garden)
Your once-in-a-lifetime celebration deserves a one-of-a-kind setting.
Tent Season events include our private mansion, garden, and Sperry Tent. Guests enjoy the historic character of our estate, the beauty of our Garden Courtyard with a variety of flowering plants and trees, as well as, multiple access points to the mansion. Dinner and dancing are hosted under our Sperry Tent. Our restaurant-style catering is prepared on-site by the Willowdale Estate catering team, and we include support from on-site event coordinators.

- Bistro lights along the perimeter of the tent, with lanterns on the spruce center poles - Covered walkway connecting the tent and the mansion - Dining, cocktail, and café tables, and garden chairs - Tent heaters and fans available for use as needed; the Estate is air-conditioned and heated - Parking attendants - Three private hospitality suites for use during your event - Dance floor, courtyard bistro lights, and other custom features can be added (additional pricing will apply)
Mansion Events
Easy to plan, impossible to forget.
Events in the mansion (November - April) include full use of the main floor of the estate, with access to three private suites on the second floor for getting ready. Indoor events are cozy and romantic with warm wood tones of the house, festive, and lights. We are happy to incorporate personal touches that keep our century-old mansion vibrant, dynamic, and full of life. Our mansion features leaded stained glass windows, stone fireplaces, and intricate wood molding.

The Wedding of My Dreams
From the moment we booked our wedding at Willowdale Estate, the team there was incredibly professional, helpful, and calming throughout the entire process. Their communication was always prompt and clear, and they made us feel taken care of at every step. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful, with a dreamy, Great Gatsby-esque atmosphere that was the perfect backdrop for our special day. The food was truly amazing - our guests are still raving about it! But perhaps the best part was working with their incredible wedding coordinator, Julia, who went above and beyond to ensure our wedding day was perfect in every way. We are so grateful to the entire Willowdale team for making our wedding day an absolute dream.
Amazing Experience at the Willowdale
We got married in late October this year and we had the most amazing experience with the Willowdale and our event coordinator, Julia D’Agostino. From our initial tour of the venue, getting a nice thank you in the mail after the tour, to booking our date and having someone on the team answer my billion questions every other week it was a great experience. When Julia was assigned to us as our day of coordinator in the weeks prior to the wedding, we felt so very fortunate. Julia was always so responsible and reliable. In our wedding prep meeting, she provided us with solid recommendations. When we came in all frazzled to the stuff drop off the week before the event, Julia was so relaxed and had such a "can do" attitude. During the wedding day, Julia was also always there. She pulled us aside and brought us a plate of apps during our cocktail hour, she reminded us to eat during the dinner, and at the end of the day, she was there to wish us well and take a final pic as everyone else had left. 100% recommend the Willowdale for the busy bride, like myself, or the one who has the time to plan. Our day was flawless thanks to Julia and the Willowdale team and we got SO MANY COMPLIMENTS on how beautiful it was. Best day ever!
Our guests can’t stop raving about our wedding
Event planning is not my forte in the best of times, but when you throw in the added inconvenience that my husband and I live in Europe — I knew it was going to take a miracle to pull off this wedding. Luckily, Willowdale and my amazing coordinator, Alli, were that miracle. Not only is Willowdale a stunning and completely unique venue 365 days of the year, it was a perfect match for our tricky theme: Great Gatsby (my husband’s theme) meets Dark Fairytale (my theme). What really took Willowdale to the next level in my book was their ability to take the stress out of wedding planning so you can actually enjoy this special time in your life. Special shoutout to my coordinator, Alli, who is like a wedding fairy godmother, Type A project manager, and supportive big sister all rolled into one. You name it, she did it: taking our jumble of decor and turning it into a fancy fairyland, helping me trim my boombas so they didn’t peak out of my neckline, wrangling family members, making sure my husband and I had enough to eat and drink, and packing up all our wedding desserts at the end of the night. Our guests can’t stop raving about our wedding and frankly, neither can we. Willowdale is the best in the biz, and I cannot recommend them highly enough!
Dream wedding at Willowdale
Willowdale Estate was the perfect wedding venue, and we couldn’t be happier with our experience! It was the first venue we toured, and it set such a high bar that nothing else compared. The booking process was simple, everything was exactly as advertised, and the events team was incredibly helpful, answering all our questions quickly and making the planning process so much easier, even when we made last-minute decisions. The tasting experience was also fantastic—it really helped us finalize our food choices and was a great opportunity to see the space again and envision our day coming together. Willowdale also had an amazing list of preferred vendors, and we’re so glad we trusted their recommendations for our DJ, florist, lighting, and hair and makeup. A special shoutout goes to Jeannine, our day-of coordinator, who was truly the best. Jeannine was everything we could have hoped for: professional, reassuring, organized, and always ready with thoughtful input when we needed it. Her calm demeanor and expertise made us feel completely relaxed leading up to the big day because we knew she had every detail covered. She truly went above and beyond to make the day run smoothly, and we couldn’t have done it without her. We’ve received endless compliments on the beauty of Willowdale Estate, the incredible food, and—most of all—the delicious cookies! We’re so glad we chose this venue—ask for Jeannine to be your coordinator!
