I live in New York City and Northwest CT with my wife and our two rescue dogs. I am a commercial lifestyle and wedding photographer. My creative journey began when I spent a decade touring the country with my indie rock band, The Booda Velvets. While on tour I was always taking photos with my dad’s old Pentax film camera and a Polaroid SX70. During this time, my passion for documentary style photography was born and after touring I traded the guitar for the camera and haven’t looked back.

All the beautiful moments, from the tiny ones to the big amazing ones - they are all important. We tell stories from start to finish, with a focus on emotion. We photograph in our home cities of San Francisco, Chicago and New York City, but also travel internationally - we've photographed weddings in seven countries.

Valerie Caviness, NYC native is one of the most diverse photographers with a career spanning over the last 20 years. Valerie started out in editorial photography and branched out to events, commercial and architectural photography. In 2010 she took a position as the head photographer at the NYSE. Her position covered many areas of photography including, photojournalism, events, marketing, and portraiture. In 2017 Valerie branched out on her own to continue working with clients, focusing on corporate events and marketing. In 2020, she shifted her business to Weddings . She now lives in Albany with her husband and 3 children.

Our names are Tess Mayer & Julia Wang and we are photography duo based in NYC. When I'm not shooting weddings, I’m a total beach bum. This might sound like an oxymoron coming from a native Montrealer, but I adore the ocean (and very much dislike winter). I swim and surf whenever possible, and I get out to the Rockaways as often as I can. I do a ton of beach photography, including a series about couples at the beach, and I’ve been published a few times, including here and here. I found my passion for art while growing up surrounded by horses in a small town in Brazil. The shapes, textures, and colors of the horses always have been inspiring to me. I’ve always wanted to recreate them, but was never really able to. Honestly, my painting/drawing skills were and still are terrible, and that’s when photography came up in my life. I would create imaginary cameras out of my toys and would ‘photograph’ the horses and my neighbors. Photographing people became my passion and then evolved into my work in editorial and wedding photography.

There is a dusty old photo album that I’ve looked at hundreds of times. It is from my parents’ wedding more than 40 years ago. It shows me a little piece of my history every time I look at those images. When I lost my father, I realized his memory lives on in those images for me.
