Its sanctuary was constructed in 1882, making it the second oldest religious structure still standing in the Town of Amherst. Starting in 2012, a grassroots group took the initiative to save a historic structure in the heart of Amherst, VA, and to re-purpose it as a creative community center. Located in the middle of a vibrant village, the goal was to provide a gathering place for events. She handles a wide range of aspects of the business, from answering questions about what will make your event run smoothly to giving you layout suggestions. Virginia Mountain Vineyards is located on 91 acres nestled between the Blue Ridge and Allehgeny Mountains with gorgeous mountain views. Venue has a beautiful vineyard arbor for wedding ceremonies and the ceremony walkway is a paver pathway lined with red rose bushes. A large tent on a paver patio is available for wedding receptions. The Vinton War Memorial is owned and operated by the Town of Vinton and often hosts public events at the venue. The Vinton War Memorial was originally conceived as the centerpiece of an 11.5-acre park that could be enjoyed by the community while honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country during World War II. The park was completed in 1946 and the two-story brick building known as the Vinton War Memorial was dedicated and opened to the public on August 20, 1948.
