Nestled by a creek on 55 acres of rolling farmland, we have recently renovated our 1942 barn back to its former glory while adding a refined "Shabby Chic" style exuding charm and romance. This makes for the perfect setting to host your wedding or special event.

Fields at Skycrest is casual elegance at its best! This unique venue is situated on an 95 acre working farm. The setting is relaxed and peaceful while the event space designed is classic and elegant. Whether the couple is looking for an outdoor ceremony surrounded by trees and open fields or a covered outdoor ceremony space, Fields at Skycrest has you covered. The indoor climate controlled reception space that can accommodate 300 guests is light and airy and includes everything from a beautiful fireplace, to a grand metal staircase, to clear doors that can be opened to the large outdoor patio. In 1929, Jean-Pierre Auguste Dalmas, a Waldensian immigrant from Villar Pellice, Italy, started construction on the dairy barn on his property in Valdese, NC. After the barn had been completed, work began on the main house. He built a rock veneered masterpiece, large enough to house his 7 children. He cleared a field for a vineyard and until his death in 1972 (at the age of 92), he made wine in the basement of the main house every autumn.
