The Starkey Mansion is 13,000 square feet on four floors. Mary and Xavier have taken the old guard mansion-style and transformed it into a modern home with a historic graciousness. The Starkey Mansion is both an event and Bridal venue with 6 beautiful theme bedrooms (9 beds) one suite for the bridal couple and others for family and friends. There is a large formal dining room, library, and living room supported by an authentic butler’s pantry, and a large commercial level kitchen. Clock Tower Events is under new management and located in downtown Denver. Prior to 1950 the Daniels & Fisher Department store was the ‘crown jewel’ of the Denver skyline. Built in 1911, the D&F Tower was the tallest structure west of the Mississippi, at a height of 393 feet. In the 1960’s after financial ruin the building was set to be demolished. In the early 1970’s, Denver was able to save the actual clock tower from being destroyed. Now listed on the National Register of Historic Places, it lights up the Denver skyline and remains a defining building for downtown. Now, the top five floors of this beloved structure are available for smaller, private events through Clock Tower Events. The Lumber Baron Inn & Gardens is an enchanting wedding venue located in Denver, Colorado. Dating back to 1890, this mansion was romantically constructed by John Mouat as an ode to his beloved wife, Amelia. After more than a century, it now operates as a luxurious Bed and Breakfast as well as an attractive event destination. The mansion has been beautifully restored to its original floor plan. The spacious third floor ballroom gives access to the top of the turret with great views of Downtown Denver and the surrounding Potter Highland neighborhood. In the 1890s, the ballroom originally hosted teas, dances and social functions for the elite of Denver through the 1890s continuing on into the early 1900s. Behind the mansion, is our amazing spacious garden. It is an oasis in the city. The Great Room, which seats up to 200 people, is fitted with a large stone fireplace and several floor-to-ceiling glass doors that provide easy access to the spectacular view beyond. The smaller Octagon Room has seven windowed sides– so no matter where you are inside, the scenic outdoors are never hidden from view! For outdoor ceremonies, the deck seats up to 100 people (with additional standing room). The deck features log railings and a flagstone step down to the grassy lawn. We host weddings year-round: enjoy the warmth of late-July sunsets, the abundance of golden aspens in September, or the fairytale snowfalls in January at Evergreen Lake.
