Founded in 1929, Mystic Seaport Museum is the nation’s leading maritime museum—and one of Mystic’s most visited attractions—created to gather and preserve the rapidly disappearing artifacts of America’s seafaring past. The Wadsworth Mansion, a nineteenth-century Beaux Art style mansion, is the quintessential country estate. Graced by expansive lawns and surrounded by 103 acres of wooded parklands the Mansion reflects an era of grandeur and elegance. There are multiple locations for outdoor ceremonies and guests can enjoy cocktails and dance on the terrace under the stars. The Mansion can accommodate two hundred guests for a seated dinner reception and larger numbers for cocktail parties. Only one event is scheduled each day and couples can select from a list of approved caterers to create the wedding of their dreams.

Little Gold is an intimate and fully curated space. We are an ideal location for couples who want to enjoy a small celebration with all of the charm and comforts of being in a beautiful home. We have a salon, dining area and lounge with a bar front and offer glassware, flatware and a range of dishes, serving utensils and vases for our clients to use. While we do not have a full kitchen, we offer a prep space to prepare, store and serve food. Our space is ideal for catered bites and cocktail foods. We are also a unique and special option for wedding parties to prep for the big day. We are steps away from the heart of downtown Newport and located close to many bars, restaurants and hotels.
