I’m originally from Port Hueneme, California and started my DJ career in 2002 renting DJ equipment to clubs, the radio station, and DJ’s in Ventura County. I left the area in 2004 working for the Navy. In 2006 I found my way to Washington, D.C. which is the #2 wedding market in the US where I started doing weddings. Immediately I fell in love with weddings as I enjoyed making each couples day special. In 2017 my wife and I decided that we wanted to be closer to family so we moved back to California in 2017. In 2024 we decided we missed the East coast and we landed in Jacksonville, NC. I bring wedding experience from working on both coasts.

David Malachi, better known by his stage name DJ Motiv, is a DJ and songwriter based in North Carolina. Never afraid to go too deep, his emotive musical selections is his own therapy.
