The event space was originally a United Methodist Church that was built in 1886, then an eclectic art gallery, and is now a unique and fun event space. Freshwater Farms of Ohio is the largest indoor fish hatchery in the state of Ohio and the home of the Ohio Fish & Shrimp Festival. For more than three decades, we have been extending a warm welcome to visitors at our farm. Exploring our farm is fun for all ages and completely free. During your visit, make sure to stop by our Sturgeon Petting Zoo. There you can get close and personal with rare and endangered fish species. Engage in the exhilarating Trout Feeding Frenzy and watch them splash in excitement as you feed them by hand. Additionally, our hatchery and retail store have an extensive collection of Fish & Critter Displays, offering a diverse range of aquatic life to explore.

This is a working farm, with many animals. We have a mix of very old (log house and tobacco barn) with a new kitchen area and restrooms, on public water and sewer. The unique and picturesque country setting is just 20 minutes from downtown Cincinnati. There is a circa 1800’s barn with exposed post and beam construction, a historic log cabin, a newly constructed Sugar Shack with modern men’s and women’s restrooms, a kitchen, a bar area and a small dining hall. The beautiful large lawn areas are adjacent to the buildings and are appropriate for use as an outdoor ceremony site. We even have a portable white wedding arbor ready to decorate.
