The Faux Bouquets

5.0

Redlands, CA
  • Starts at $175
  • Serves Gaylordsville, CT

Believe it or not, we often have people ask if our pictures throughout our website are showing a mix of fresh and faux and…no they aren’t! Although fresh florals are pretty, we are totally in love with poser-blooms all the way here and that’s what we design 100% of our orders with.

Awarded Best of Zola
I’m so glad we went with the Faux Bouquets for our wedding florals. Everything was beautiful and nobody believed me when I said they weren’t live flowers. If you are worried about how they will look, DONT be!!! There is a great variety of flowers on their website and I am so happy with how everything turned out. If you are renting flowers, the return process is SO easy!

First of all - the end product was just beautiful. Everything from the bridal bouquet to the ceremony flowers to the table styling was exquisite and super unique. Shannon did a great job incorporating my favorite color (yellow) and a whimsical, organic wildness into the design exactly as I had hoped. From our first meeting to the written proposal, Shannon interpreted my thoughts and ideas exactly. I was so impressed that she took my ramblings and half ideas and pulled them together into what I was seeing in my head. Shannon’s GORGEOUS color palette informed the entire wedding design and gave me a jumping off point for invitations, bridesmaid dresses, other decor, etc. Unfortunately, the process of working with Shannon was a bit challenging. She struggled with nailing down details: incorrect number of tables, inconsistent accounting of candles/bud vases, etc. It took a number of incorrect proposal drafts until we got it right - just weeks before the wedding. We were honestly quite disappointed by Shannon’s flexibility and communication. She self-describes as being highly collaborative, but that was not our experience. First, as beer nerds, having hops in the design was super important to us, and while she flagged early on it could be an issue to source real ones, we discussed using fake. While we all agreed that she shouldn’t use fake hops if they looked bad, we were sad to see on the day of that they didn’t make it into the design. It would have been nice to have heard a heads up from her that she didn’t plan to use them - even if it was just a brief mention on the day-of. Second, when our cake plans fell through at the last minute, we asked Shannon if she could possibly supply a few flowers for our small 6” cutting cake. She told us she would try, but later we heard from the bakery that she had given them a flat no. She never communicated her decision to us. Thankfully, the bakery pulled something together for us (shout out to Zest Pastry!). Third, the Monday before the wedding, Shannon sent an alarming email with the subject line “Head Advisory, Oh No!”, asking us what our plan was. Getting any email titled “Oh No” isn’t fun to receive less than a week before your wedding. Further, as a trusted wedding vendor, we would hope that she would have plans for weather or unexpected events rather than looking to us during a very stressful period. Lastly, (and most disappointingly) despite having a run of day schedule, Shannon was nowhere to be found when it was time to put on boutonnieres and corsages. Our photographers and party thankfully jumped in to help to avoid major delays to portraits (shout out to Katie Slater!). Fundamentally, the product Shannon provided was beyond compare - everything was beautiful. That said, the communication, coordination, and organization were lacking from our experience.

Sara did an amazing job with our wedding. I still remember giving her the ridiculous directive to make my bouquet as large as my future child, and she actually listened! She sourced peonies, rannunculus, and even succulents for a Christmas wedding. Suffice it to say if I ever need flowers for an event, I can only use Sara because anyone else will undoubtedly be unable to match her attention to detail, her eye for beauty, and her kindness to her clients.

I did a lot of searching and looking into different diy flower companies. As soon as I came across bloom culture and read some of the reviews I knew I wanted to go with them! Alison was so friendly and personable and so easy to work with. She helped put me at ease by answering all of my questions and even helped me to swap out a couple of the flowers in one of the packages to better match my vision for my wedding. I was a little nervous about the flowers lasting all the way until the wedding day (my wedding was on a Sunday and they arrived Wednesday) but by the day of they had opened up beautifully and looked amazing. There were also hardly any flowers damaged or broken when they arrived. With all of the detailed instructions and recipes they provided, putting together the flowers was honestly a breeze once we got started. We didn’t follow the instructions specifically because I had a different number of bouquets, center pieces, etc. that I need to make, but the recipes and instructions were still super helpful. I also watched Alison’s YouTube videos beforehand which helped a ton! Overall very happy with the quality of the flowers, the price, and the excellent customer service. Cannot recommend enough!

When I initially began my hunt for my wedding florist, I found a great divide between florists way, way out of my price range and shops looking to crank out a volume of cookie cutter designs. I was absolutely disheartened by the many, many florists that weren’t interested in hearing about my creative vision and only wanted to discuss date, budget, and colors. Looking back, I’m grateful I didn’t settle for ordinary and continued to pursue my dreams of extraordinary. When describing Rachel, the first word that comes to mind is wizard. Rachel and team are absolute wizards; wizards at crunching numbers behind the scenes, sourcing products and the freshest and most fragrant of florals. Whatever spells they cast on my floral designs kept them fresh, vibrant, and stunning even in July, on one of the most humid days of the year. She even babysat my dog topiary, made by my husband-to-be in honor of our dog, Harley. She took him under her wing for the day, kept him happy and hydrated and placed him at a position of honor by our welcome sign. Both my mother and mother-in-law alike informed me their corsages were the most beautiful corsages they had ever seen and just loved the pearl bracelet they came on. They both dried and saved them for their memory boxes. Rachel is highly knowledgeable, creative, and has a stellar “yes can do” attitude. In the months leading up to your wedding day or special event, she’ll ask thoughtful questions about your venue, bridal party, theme, and vision. My advice to you is book her far in advance. Come prepared with many, many photos. Ask questions. Be curious, be passionate, dare to dream. Trust that she will listen, she will respect your budget, and she will exceed your expectations.

Lindsay Fondo Studio

5.0

Danbury, CT
  • Starts at $4,000
  • Serves Gaylordsville, CT

My name is Lindsay Fondo and I am a floral designer and photographer based in CT, by way of NY. Serving both + NJ. I have a strong appreciation for flowers and photo’s, for their ability to say how we really feel, and how when you look at them you get all of the feel good vibes. I absolutely love working with my clients to bring their vision to life/ help flesh out a vision they didn’t even know was there.

Knowing Lindsay since I was a teenager it was an absolute blessing to work with her as my wedding florist. I had spoken to a few florist before thinking oh my god, I should contact Linds! Best decision I ever made. Immediately when we spoke I knew she was it. No one else held a light to her enthusiasm, understanding of my vibe, and creativeness just on the first call. When I received her proposal of my funky, electric, colorful wedding I think I cried. The entire year and a half of planning my wedding Lindsay continued to be my right had woman. I mean yes I know we are friends, but she went as far as going to the flea market thrifting with me, because I hand selected every vase and candle stick that was at my wedding. She helped transform my rustic venue into the vibey retro funky wedding of my dreams. She legit helped/ gave her in put on anything I asked including paper goods so that our vibe would be cohesive throughout. Ok what you really want to hear about....the wedding!!! I am and always will be in ABSOLUTE AWE of what Lindsay and her incredible team did at my wedding. I got married on 6/23/23 and my jaw is still on the ground. I truly have no words it was INDREDIBLE!!!! My bouquet was the most beautiful, unique, fun bridal bouquet you ever did see. She spray painted all of my bridesmaids bouquets to match their dresses and bedazzled them too! Her attention to detail is everything. They hung almost 30 disco balls with florals from the high beams of my reception room. Walking in and seeing that room all set up before the guests arrived brought me to actual tears. She absolutely nailed it. My favorite wedding vendor, hands down!!!!! If I could get married more than once, I would book her every time. You Genius!!! I love you!!!!
