We interviewed over 20 bands from the NYC area and decided to go with Vitamin M after really vibing with their band leader, JJ. And boy are we glad we did! JJ worked with us to curate the perfect performance for us and our guests. He was able to balance dance songs and classics alongside some custom requests that went off the beaten path of most traditional weddings from the likes of The Band, Talking Heads and The Clash. He even helped us surprise our guests with a singing introduction of the bride and groom. He took time to get to know us and was always happy to answer any questions we had. “When looking for a band for a multicultural wedding, we knew they had to be special. Just the Melody was the first band we reached out to and it was clear from the onset that we didn’t have to look any further because we knew they were the ones. Throughout the entire experience, Melody and Edvin were an absolute dream to work with. They were incredibly responsive and took the planning process seriously while also keeping it fun. We were able to have multiple planning meetings where they clearly listened to our vision and more specifically the energy we were hoping to bring to the entire evening. Our wedding included multiple different musical moments that Just the Melody was able to provide with aplomb. The ceremony was romantic instrumental music that transitioned to modern pop instrumentals during the first half of the cocktail hour. Then a Mariachi band took over the second half of the cocktail hour with Melody providing gorgeous vocals for a few songs before the 12-piece band took over the magic for the rest of the night. The band with Edvin as MC matched the energy of our guests the entire night in a way we never expected. After our first dance, a beautiful rendition of Luis Miguel’s”Por Debajo De La Mesa”, the band moved right into a wondrous lineup of Latin music including Cumbia, Bachata, and Salsa that got our guests up and on their feet. From that point forward the dancing was nonstop with both American and Latin music filling the air. They also helped us celebrate the joining of our Jewish and Latino cultures by playing the Hora followed by La Vibora De La Mar. Edvin and Melody worked well with our venue to time our fathers’ speeches when our guests paused for a moment to eat and they were thoughtful with the tempo of the night by pairing this with our father/bride and mother/groom dances. After dinner they brought the energy right back up and we even got to see some of Edvin’s unreal dance moves when the 90s/2000s pop music started up. We could absolutely not believe it when they allowed us to come on stage and belt out one of our favorite songs (Jimmy Eat World’s “The Middle”). It was a living dream (especially for the bride). We cannot say enough how much both of us and all of our guests absolutely adored Just the Melody. We have been told multiple times by our guests that they didn't expect to go to a concert along with our wedding and that they loved every minute of it. And we did too. The music the entire evening was exceptional and better than anything we could have come up with in our wildest dreams for the evening. Thank you Melody, Edvin and the entire Just the Melody crew - we could not have chosen better for our wedding!!”

They are legitimately having a fun time performing with each other and that permeates throughout the room. Everyone will be up dancing, singing, drinking, and sweating their butts off, and having a blast! What to expect: -Professionalism. Brooks responds promptly and covers all bases. No detail will be overlooked during the planning stages. Day of, they get to the venue well ahead of time to sound check and make sure everything is sounding perfect. During the event, they are great at providing direction and making sure everything runs smoothly. -Personalization and flexibility. The guys truly care about making the event as special as possible and are very open to any idea to bring the event over the top. In addition to our “special request” songs (which they nailed) the band was incredibly gracious at my request to join them onstage to “surprise” my wife and guests by playing a song along with them. It could not have gone over any better…my wife was thrilled and it absolutely brought the house down! -Party! They know what will get everyone up and moving. Their catalogue of songs is well over 200 and it includes all decades and genres. Multiple guests commented that they didn’t want to leave the dance floor to get dessert or go to the bathroom because every song was such an amazing jam. The Barnstorm is absolutely worth every penny. We knew they were the right band for our wedding the first moment we heard them at Hill Country, and we feel so lucky and grateful to the guys for playing our wedding. On top of it all, my wife, friends, and I get to continue to relive that night by seeing their gigs throughout NYC! We simply cannot say enough great things about The Barnstorm.”

“Kelton from Marquee Artists was amazing! He was a communicative and active participant in the planning of the music and the announcements at my wedding on March 9. Kelton provided an extensive list of potential songs to play in a shared Google Document with columns for “play” and “do not play” which was great. Also, I was impressed that he attended the walk through of the Whittemore House a month prior to the wedding, asking pertinent questions of the Whittemore staff about the placement of various things and how best to provide the sound amplification that would be needed. He provided wireless mics which worked really well for the toasts. Kelton did a great job as the master of ceremony and his mix of the selected music was fun and fabulous. He had the crowd dancing, rocking to the music. Many of the older folks told me that they hadn’t danced in years but were having lots of fun doing so then. Having him on our wedding team instilled so much confidence in me, my daughter and new son-in-law, who is an amateur DJ. “Hoi Polloi - 10/10 having a band was super important to us. Hoi Polloi was everything we could have hoped for and more! They played all the music we asked for and were great to work with from the start. We booked them for our ceremony, our cocktail hour, and had 11 people with horns and a DJ. They were fantastic to work with and we loved working with them. Jim is super responsive which makes a difference. He made sure the band knew all the music we wanted to play and they even interacted with guests (which I loved).They are also VERY reasonably priced and should probably charge more! They were great. I think the biggest compliment is that people from all ages kept saying they loved them which was perfect to me. They opened with Runaround Sue which is one of the best wedding songs in the world. Everyone got on the dance floor once that song came on and they didn’t leave.”
