The Other Barn is nestled in the heart of Howard County, MD, providing a rustic and charming barn setting, close to home. Originally a dairy barn, it now provides a unique, elegant, and warm atmosphere perfect for celebrating life's special moments. The Other Barn is ideal for hosting outdoor wedding ceremonies and indoor wedding receptions on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The Other Barn prides itself on being an affordable, local venue while allowing our clients to choose all of their own vendors in order to watch their dreams become a reality on their special day. Clients are required to bring in a licensed caterer of their choice. We offer a full kitchen, a large ice machine, and ice chests. We will set up tables and chairs for you prior to your event, according to a specialized floor plan that you design with our Facility & Rental Coordinator. Table coverings, decorations, and other set-ups will be provided and put in place by the client and their vendors.

In the 1950’s thru the mid 1970’s the site was known as Motts Run Landing, which provided access to the Rappahannock River for families, boaters and fishermen by day and a local lovers lane by night. In 1979 Gene & Linda Clore purchased this 2 ½ acre slice of heaven and dedicated their lives to the fun and pleasure of those who wished to enjoy the Rappahannock and Rapidan rivers by canoe. Because of it’s natural beauty a friend of the family, in 1993, requested to have their wedding overlooking the river. Thus was the inception of Riverside Weddings. Historic Waverly Mansion is considered an outdoor venue. The property includes beautifully maintained gardens, the historic Mansion, and rustic barn. During our peak rental season, a 60x40ft event tent is included in wedding rentals. Historic Waverly provides the location and property amenities while the Permit Holder provides all vendors, including an approved full-service Caterer and Wedding Coordinator.
