Starting their careers in the restaurant and food industry, Elie & Heidi Hanna decided to utilize their unique experiences and create their own vision of a full service event company. La Mila is named after their daughter, Milana, who provides them with limitless inspiration and motivation.

This review is a tad long so bear with me. I worked with La Mila Catering for my sister’s wedding which was held on 27 July 2024. While planning my wedding a few years ago I knew what to expect and what questions to ask. What I didn’t expect was working with such a lovely and genuine team. I worked with Sandy specifically for catering services only. She’s spunky, lively, knowledgeable, and accommodating. Working with her has been a pleasure and I felt as if I were talking to one of my best friends. Sandy is a great salesperson. She not only explains what La Mila offers but she does it in a way that is transparent and has no unexpected costs and “fine print”. She communicates well and is direct, which I appreciate. She’s a talker and I don’t mean that negatively. She makes you feel like family most sincerely. In terms of planning and coordination, Sandy was excellent and they’re lucky to have her. Menu: When creating the menu my sister wanted Mediterranean food. Now, I believe that their specialty is Mediterranean cuisine, but they do not shy away from other cuisines. Their menu is extensive and will cater to anyone’s taste. Skies the limit! We had quite a bit of offerings for Cocktail hour, Dinner, and Dessert. We were able to have a tasting which helped us narrow down if what was selected previously was what they wanted for the day of the wedding. There we met Elie (E-Lee NOT El-lee) and Heidi, the owners, and Sandy in person. Elie is the head chef and knows what he’s doing in the kitchen. Everything was cooked to perfection; delicious tasting and the portions were filling. Aside from the food it was obvious that Elie and Heidi work hard for their business and are truly dedicated. Day of the wedding: Elie, Heidi and their team worked based on the wedding timeline that I created. They were on time to serve all their food. I can’t tell you how many times I saw Elie walking back and forth to check on food and to bring food. That guy was moving! Heidi did all of the cocktail and dessert table placement and more. They are a hardworking team and I highly recommend them. From start to finish it was easy and perfectly executed. Point blank the food was delicious and I wish they had a restaurant so I could eat there all the time. LOL Thank you again for your friendship, delicious food and professionalism. *I wish I took pictures.

Renegade Outpost Review Chef Ellen was really great to work with! From the start of our conversation to the wedding day, working with Renegade Outpost was an exceptional experience. Everyone raved about the food at our wedding! The appetizers were an early show stopper. Our favorites were the Cremini mushrooms & Jackfruit Mini Tacos - YUM! We had Latin style main entree, Pollo Guisado, which my husband absolutely loved. On top of the amazing food Chef Ellen was really fabulous to work with personally. She worked within my budget, made it easy to stay in touch, and I felt she had our best interest at heart. She was personable and gave us her honest options and opinions. She also helped us with the rentals we needed and finding a bar tender. I was very satisfied with our whole experience.

My husband and I used Jill and her team for our wedding at the Greenpoint Loft in Brooklyn this past November and what an incredible experience it was! Firstly - the food was absolutely amazing. My family is Pakistani, and my husbands is Italian. To say Jill nailed the fusion of two very different foods/cultures would be an understatement - she hit it out of the park! Not to mention the personal touches of going shopping with us at halal specialty stores in Brooklyn, accommodating allergies, and catering to cultural sensitivities around serving alcohol. Further, the staff was professional and really did an excellent job implementing our vision in terms of decor, table settings, and overall vibe of the event. Our day of coordinator really was a lifesaver as well (shoutout to Ali!). Planning a wedding could be a stressful experience, especially during a pandemic, but Jill made us feel special and at ease the entire time. We knew from the moment we did our tasting with Jill in the comfort of her own backyard (socially distanced because of COVID) that she was the perfect fit and could not be happier with our experience. Highly recommend the entire team at Jillicious - there’s no better choice in the boroughs for a personalized catering experience !

As a wedding planner many times I am managing vendors not only to confirm service but to prevent jeopardizing my clients event. Most of the time this can be frustrating especially when things are forgotten, coupled with many last minute changes, but not with Krisp Events. With Nora and Krisp Events I can close my eyes. It is important to be able to trust your vendors (especially Catering) without micromanaging. Working with Purslane, and especially with Michaela and Justin, was a highlight of our wedding planning, and we feel incredibly lucky to have had such excellent partners in producing our event. The staff, especially Michaela and Justin, are responsive, friendly, accommodating, and professional; the space is gorgeous and beautifully maintained and operated; the food and drink were bountiful and delicious, and the service rivaled any of New York's fine restaurants. Best of all, the process of collaborating to make our wedding happen was easy and fun, and Michaela and Justin made us, the nervous engaged couple with a million things to manage, very confident that our day would not just go as planned, but would be a beautiful success. And indeed it was! Of all the people we worked with. Michaela and Justin deserve special mention. They are excellent communicators, responsive to the million questions and people that wedding planning entails. They are proactive collaborators, laying out a clear process and schedule not just for the day, but for the process of working to plan it. They provided useful, detailed documentation at every step of the way, including a very helpful list of recommended vendors. Every meeting with them was fun and friendly, but also productive, punctual and a good use of time. And of course, the food and wine tastings were delicious. Michaela and Justin were so helpful in giving us a sense of how the venue would perform in a situation we wouldn't get to experience until the day itself. They guided us expertly, making shrewd suggestions we might not have considered ("Since you have an open bar, we recommend choosing a heavier vegetarian entree.") My wife and I had a unique vision for our event, and these two not only assured us that it was possible, they worked with the park to accommodate myriad details, even down to the selection of lightbulbs. It's no exaggeration to say that without their help, the event would not have had the specific atmosphere we imagined, nor would it have been the roaring success that it was. All the confidence they inspired along the way paid off on the day, when Michaela, Justin, and their staff were a machine. The service was prompt, helpful, and invisible; the food was great, not losing too much in the translation from tasting to event; the wedding ran perfectly smoothly, with Purslane on top of the schedule, keeping the momentum of the night alive as they moved tables, served each course, operated the bars, and so on with perfect cadence. We are so, so grateful to Purslane for making our wedding a true dream come to life. Our only regret is not responding sooner to their lovely post-wedding thank you note, and for taking so long to write this review! To you recently-engageds with so many decisions to make, let me help you with this one: your search is over; just hire Purslane.

Nikia did an Amazing job for my son and nephews graduation party! She provided us with several menus to choose from to create a wonderful spread for our guests! When I tell you the guests could NOT stop talking about the food, they could not stop raving about it all! Everything was so delicious! As the day approached, Neima was very helpful. She communicated with my wedding planner and also helped us tremendously the day of. As I was getting ready to walk down the aisles, Neima was helping with my dress as I was getting down the stairs. My husband and I chose the plated dinner and Let me tell you, that exceeded our expectations! Our guests kept calling after the wedding to compliment me as they were impressed with the food and services from the servers. One of the main highlights is how they made sure that my bridal party ate during the cocktails hour after the ceremony while taking our pictures. At the end of the night, they had boxed food for my husband and me for the next day. My wedding planner told me how they went the extra mile to make sure that they delivered.
