“Our DJ and the A Music Plus team was fantastic. Our venue was untraditional in that we had the entire rustic property for the weekend and one of my favorite things about a wedding is the dancing. I did not want to be constrained by a certain time the DJ would stop playing if I wanted to keep dancing with my favorite people. We also needed sound equipment to be provided. Surprisingly, this is difficult to find in the entertainment industry and if you do, it costs an arm and a leg or they begin charging by the hour, making budgeting exceedingly difficult to account for. Initially we were planning to make Spotify work with some speakers! But then we found A Music Plus. They were amazing! A Music Plus worked to make a contract and timeline that worked for US and was tailored to what was most important for our day. They were professional and responsive leading up in the final months of planning. But most importantly, they were a blast. Our DJ was comfortable on the mic when it was needed but didn't steal the show. He transitioned music seamlessly from cocktail hour to dinner and dancing and then really shined when we wanted to let loose and dance until 2AM. “We absolutely loved working with The Hook Club. Our amazing planner, Greenhouse Events, recommended THC, and we were sold immediately after meeting with Dan. He is super relaxed, nice, and so knowledgable. Dan and THC team made planning super easy for us. They took time to hear about our hopes and helped recommend different band sizes for us. We hadn’t heard of a DJ band before, but loved the idea of some live music with the versatility to play all sorts of music, but our venue wasn’t very big and we also didn’t want to break the bank and hire a huge band. We chose the 4 piece DJ band with singer, sax, drums, and DJ. We knew we LOVED the sax, so we also had the sax play for cocktail hour (shout out to Elijah, who was amazing), and it was one of the best parts of the night. For planning music, they sent out a very detailed and thorough spreadsheet with more songs than one could imagine, and we could rate ones we liked the most, choose ones we definitely wanted or didn't, and choose specific songs for important moments. We met a couple times to review music choices as well. One of our biggest fears with a DJ was that they'd talk too much and be a little annoying, but Dan did a great job as MC, and was very low-key like we asked but announced important moments clearly. Dan and all the musicians had such great energy and got everyone on the dance floor. Our vocalist, Christen, was also amazing — her voice was spectacular, and she was such an amazing performer and got everyone involved in the music and dancing. So many people told us how much they loved the music and the energy, and had never heard of a DJ band but thought it was an amazing concept and the addition of live music over tracks added extra excitement and fun. THC also helped out with lighting (uplights and dance lights), and worked with our fantastic planner and the venue to help us decide the best setup. Ultimately, we loved working with THC. Their DJ-band setup is unique and adds so much variety to your music while allowing for some of the energy that comes from live performers. We danced the night away and had an absolute blast. 100% would recommend THC to anyone!”
