“This venue takes the stress out of the day and since you are already spending so much on your day, take the stress out of it by booking this Venue. The Waterfront Hotel crew was absolutely FANTASTIC and made our day perfect. Booking this venue saved us from having to rent a party bus-saving us at least 3,000 for this area. ALSO the day of coordinator was AMAZING and assisted with any questions I had. As if this place couldn't get any better, the venue had HALF of the decorations that I needed- a life saver when we live over 3 hours away. I have thought long and hard about a downfall for this venue-- I have yet to find one. Book now and don't think twice!”

The venue itself was spacious, clean, and beautifully modern, with a scenic outdoor area that provided a gorgeous backdrop for our photos. They were also very accommodating, having a wheelchair lift for one of our guests and creating a designated space in the kitchen for our wedding cake. Since our origin on October 12, 1894, the Waterloo Elks Lodge 290 has established itself as a charitable organization throughout our long and prestigious history. By incorporating the four stations of fidelity, brotherly love, charity and justice, the Waterloo Elks have played and will continue to play an active role in the community and Elkdom. As a nonprofit, all money we raise supports veterans, youth and community. The Elks purchased this property in 1917 from the Julian Richards estate. The building was one of the finest oil residences in the city, being well-constructed and large enough to accommodate the lodge temporarily. The building was remodeled to accommodate a ballroom; members bar and card room and billiard room. In the basement there were four bowling alleys, a gymnasium, grill, kitchen and serving pantry, along with showers, lockers and the boiler rooms. The building was dedicated with a cornerstone in 1924, the year the Elks started using it as their Lodge.
