“We had an amazing experience with The Hook Club for our wedding. Dan and his team were so easy to work with, and their 5-piece DJ band was the perfect, fun switch-up from a traditional band for our June wedding at Greenpoint Loft. We also had a ceremony guitarist and a saxophonist with tracks for the cocktail hour, which added great touches to the day. The uplights they brought for the room were priced very well and created a beautiful atmosphere. The music planning worksheet they provided was incredibly helpful, and they offered valuable advice on the timeline and flow of the reception, which was a huge help. They were fun to work with, and on the night of the wedding, they absolutely crushed it. The music was fantastic, they kept the vibes high, and their crowd engagement was excellent. “Brandon Despres was the perfect choice for our wedding! We were looking for a DJ who would be fun, roll with some interesting requests, and get the party going without *becoming* the party and he did all that and more. Brandon was really easy to plan with, had no problem splicing songs for our Mother-Son dance where my husband suddenly switched from a traditional waltz to the twist with his mom, and also deftly handled a table round-robin photo shoot that took far too long, a community Contra dance which included a 15 min instruction from a caller in advance, and so much more. Finally, I will say that he was also a consummate professional. He somehow managed to keep a smile on his face the entire evening despite the fact that we were late getting to the venue due to pictures and the onsite coordinator for the location asked him to have people seated and then 20 minutes later very rudely yelled at him for having our guests sit down after cocktail hour. I honestly think I was more incredulous at her behavior than he was, and I can’t thank him enough for approaching the situation with all the grace in the world. Brandon is a true gem of a DJ and you will not regret hiring him… our dance floor was full ALL NIGHT!”

“I've never worked with a DJ as good as Drew and his crew. Drew had sent me an email a few weeks before the couples wedding with the reception timeline (a first) and kept me up-to-date with any last minute changes the day of. It is clear by working with Drew how much he loves his job and how much he cares about the couples he works with. He got the crowd going, the dance floor was always packed and he invited the couple up to DJ booth which was so fun for them and also amazing for pictures. He was super easy to talk to during our zoom and in-person meetings. The client portal is SO helpful and easy to use. You can customize your playlist however you want and he's great at feeling the crowd! We added on a Photo Booth which was so much fun for everyone! We got to keep a copy and also received the digital downloads. Luis also told our love story while we were cutting our cake which was such a nice touch!
