I became passionate about the power of photography after a few photos were all I had left to remember my father who passed away when I was an infant. Photographs are all you will have left after your wedding day and I am passionate about preserving those memories for couples. It is one of the most important days of their lives, where their loved ones from all over come together. It should be documented naturally and beautifully!

People and photography have been a mainstay in my life since my own family began the process of documenting their lives, and sharing their photographic memories and pictures for future generations. I have the fondest of memories of sorting through my grandparents old photographs and carefully leather bound albums, from the black and white staged portraits of generations past, to the faded color snapshots and candids of my childhood. My family has influenced me to explore the world, as they once did, teaching me an acceptance and sensitivity of cultural differences.

My history is in fine art and black and white film. I started taking photographs in high school with my Mom's 1980's camera and haven't stopped for the past 20 years. I earned a BFA in Photography + Design, studying in Massachusetts and Florence, Italy. After graduation I found my passion in photographing people and documenting the candid moments of life. I've been photographing weddings and portraits ever since, crazy to think it's been over 10 years now!

My introduction to photography came when I was five years old, and my parents bought me a plastic Fischer-Price 110 camera. I dragged it everywhere. I moved on from taking pictures of the family dog to photojournalism for the school newspaper. In high school, I learned classical darkroom technique. I have earned a Bachelor's of the Arts from the George Washington University, a Master's of the Arts from the University of East Anglia in the UK, and I further studied photography at the Rhode Island School of Design. My current approach to wedding photography builds upon my background in fashion photography and photojournalism.
