Powel Crosley built the Florida winter home for his wife, Gwendolyn, in 1929. The two-and-a-half-story Mediterranean mansion was built in the southwest corner of Bradenton on a 60-acre parcel of land on Sarasota Bay adjacent to the John Ringling Estate. The 11,000-square-foot home has 21 rooms and 10 baths, and an adjacent carriage house has room for three cars and servants' quarters on the second floor. Originally the mansion had a swimming pool, a seaplane dock and yacht basin. The home featured many innovations for its time, including a steel frame encased in cast stone, embedded pipes and wiring, and a 135-day construction schedule. Placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982, Seagate was saved from commercial development and purchased for renovation by Manatee County, which operates it as a meeting, conference and event venue.

The Crocker Memorial Church was built in 1901 and has been in continuous use ever since. This charming little white church is a marvel of adaptive use. It has been moved three times and has now come to rest in Pioneer Park, the home of the Historical Society of Sarasota County. The Crocker Memorial Church sits next to the Bidwell-Wood House, built in 1882. Both the spacious front and back porches of this home are welcome gathering places for your wedding party and guests. Photography is permitted at both locations as well as on the grounds. There is a sound system in the church.

Located on the beautiful intracoastal, the Clearwater Community Sailing Center is home to the Carlisle Room and Veranda. With views of Clearwater Bay, our space is an ideal location to for your special occasion. It is a blank canvas for you to make your occasion unique. A full day time block is 9AM – 11PM. The time block needs to include decorating, the event and clean up. Tables and chairs are included in the rental price. Our staff will set the tables and chairs up for you by 11am on the day of your event. All other set up and decorating is DIY. We do use preferred catering so we ask that you choose from a list of five approved vendors. If you go outside that list, or choose to bring your own food there will be $250 fee.

Just outside of downtown Tampa sits The Orlo, a private social club housed within the historic Spafford House and ballroom. Orlo J. Spafford, the president of the Tampa National Bank, built the Orlo in 1896 to share with his son and his family. In 1922 the Orlo was sold to the Tampa Women’s Club where the addition of a ballroom was made to host formal parties and extravagant dances. Our Tuscany Ballroom can seat up to 400 Guests and features a built in stage with special effects. Our facility includes grand entrance vehicles, such as a Cinderella carriage or Mini Hummer, to make your entrance to the reception a magical experience for both you and the guests. Our packages are designed in several levels so that you can choose the option that best fits your needs and budget. We do NOT charge gratuities and service fees. Our website has transparent pricing information, galleries and a 3D Virtual Tour. We are open for tours Wednesdays thru Saturdays by appointment.
