Grace River Island Resort is a stunning private tropical island sunset wedding venue that can host up to 100 guests and a large house that sleeps 20 and is located in the middle of the Caloosahatchee River in Fort Myers, Florida. Most people check in on Thursday or Friday and check out on Sunday or Monday, making it a relaxing wedding weekend. The island is accessible by a land bridge, creating a sense of serenity while still being close to the city. This luxurious resort is well-suited to host sunset weddings ceremonies, rehearsal dinners, destination weddings, and couples hoping to escape for their honeymoon. The owners Mike and Karen Peterson hope that their island serves as a relaxing space for such a magical occasion. It is place that you and your guests will remember forever!

The area is spacious enough for a sweetheart table, round tables for guests, DJ, dancing area, bar, buffet tables, desert table, memories table and more. It is the perfect place for a private reception that you and your guests will remember forever.

fantastic venue
Grace River Island is a wonderful wedding venue that we had the pleasure of working with. The communication from the venue staff was always very clear, upfront, and humble, which made the planning process seamless. The indoor and outdoor spaces overlooking the waterfront are beautifully maintained, providing a stunning backdrop for our special day. The venue staff was incredibly attentive and accommodating, quickly adapting to any unforeseen weather changes or assisting our other vendors as needed. We also appreciated that Grace River Island allows couples to spend the entire weekend on-site with their friends and family, as the venue can comfortably sleep 12 or more guests. We highly recommend this venue to any couple looking for a picturesque, well-maintained waterfront setting for their wedding.

My husband and I had the privilege of celebrating our wedding at Grace River Island, and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect experience! From the moment we arrived, we knew we had chosen the right place. The venue itself is absolutely stunning—nestled by the river, surrounded by nature with a peaceful atmosphere that made our day feel like a true fairytale. A huge thank you to the incredible owners, Karen and Mike, who made us feel like family from the very start. Their warmth, professionalism, and genuine care for our special day were evident at every step of the process. They truly went above and beyond to ensure everything was exactly how we envisioned, and their passion for creating magical moments was inspiring. We also cannot thank Skye, the coordinator, enough. Skye’s attention to detail, organizational skills, and calm, reassuring presence made everything run so smoothly. She helped us navigate all the little decisions and ensured everything was perfectly timed and stress-free. Thanks to her, we were able to fully relax and enjoy every moment, knowing we were in the best hands. The entire team at Grace River Island made our wedding day flawless—from the setup, to the ceremony, to the reception. Everything was handled with such care and professionalism. We couldn’t have asked for a more memorable, beautiful experience. If you’re considering Grace River Island for your wedding, don’t hesitate! Amazing Location for a Sunset Wedding!
Had one of the greatest times of our lives staying at the Grace River Island Resort for our November Wedding! We booked for November 22nd - 25th and from the moment we arrive we were in awe of how breath taking the location was, just like the first time we saw it a year prior. Mike, Karen, and Skye were very attentive to our questions and needs, and everything was ready for us upon our arrival. All the amenities they provided were clean and fresh, ready for us to use, shout out to the cleaning crew! There was plenty of room for our wedding party of 20, and we spent four amazing days making wonderful memories with our family and friends. The sunsets here were truly magical, as we would often gather at the dock to take in the view and spend most of the nights cozy around the firepit. On the day of the wedding, their team helped set up tables, worked alongside the vendors, and were extremely professional throughout the day. I'll be forever grateful that Skye came out with a tray of food for me and my husband, thanks to her we could actually taste all of our catering menu while we were in the process of taking photos and videos! The hospitality that was shown to us by the Grace River Island team was impeccable and they truly made our stay there one we shall never forget.
