Arch Street Meeting House is a historic wedding venue located in Old City Philadelphia. The land on which Arch Street Meeting House stands was officially deeded to the Quakers in 1701 and used as a burial ground until 1872. The building was constructed in stages from 1803-1811 when need arose of a larger Meeting House in Philadelphia. The site is still an active place of worship in addition to being used as an educational museum space, and was designated a National Historic Landmark in 2011. It is frequently rented for conferences, weddings, dinners, and graduations. The building sits on just shy of 2 acres, and our grounds include both grassy & brick spaces and lots of mature trees. The entire site exudes an overall historic charm.

The historic Liriodendron mansion, built in 1898, was the summer residence of Dr. Howard A. Kelly, one of the four founding physicians of Johns Hopkins Hospital. FringeArts is a unique venue in Old City with two versatile spaces that can be rented separately or together, based on the couple’s vision. Most often the spaces are rented together. Our restaurant can seat 80 or host a standing cocktail reception for 150. FringeArts can accommodate up to 200 guests for a seated dinner in their space. The two spaces are separated by a moveable air wall. We can host a ceremony and cocktail hour in the restaurant and in Haas Biergarten right outside, and then open the wall to reveal a dining room space in the FringeArts theater. After dinner, head back out to the main bar and hit up the dance floor, or head outside to Haas Biergarten. Outside we have a bar that is operational May-October, lawn games, fire pits, and a great view of the Ben Franklin Bridge!

The manor was originally owned by Christian Hershey, of the chocolate family, who built the house in the 1700s. During the 18th century, it served as a tavern on the Conestoga wagon trade. In the mid-19th century it became an inn and hosted numerous travelers. Purchased by James Hale & Louise McClure Steinman in 1927, it was fully renovated and restored in 1930 by architect Frank J. Everts. Among the venue’s many visitors was the great-nephew of Edgar Allan Poe. Today, the estate abounds with natural beauty, where it boasts 3,300 varieties of annual flowers, 160 perennials, 160 rose bushes, and 400 tropical plants.
